Came to Austin for the long weekend and found this place wandering around downtown Austin Mike at the door, is extremely welcoming and Kate behind the bar, is Top Notch... Will absolutely be back!!!

It's alright...nothing special...The bartender was nice...We went in around 3pm, so it wasn't busy at all. Ordered a beer (they have cold beer, I'll give them that), a crown apple cranberry and a Jameson sprite, it was $33. Just another bar along 6th street.

Blake is quite the showman behind the bar! Great personality and helps you have a great time at this bar. This was our first bar stop after we got settled into our hotel that we were staying at. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Thursday, so not many restaurants and especially bars were open yet. It didn't seem like Dizzy Rooster was supposed to be either, but while walking down six street, the bouncer out front waved us in and we began our "taste of Austin" journey. Blake was working behind the bar that day. We came to find out after talking with him for a while that we closed the night before too. He easily could have been in a bad, non-talkative mood, but he was far from that! He gave us a ton of tips of places to check out throughout our stay here. With the amount of liquor on the back wall, I had totally blanked on what I wanted to order. I usually don't ask a bartender this, but in this case I felt comfortable to ask Blake what he recommended or liked making. He recommended a Pineapple Upside Down cake drink, which I had never heard of before, so I gave that a try. Needless to say, I had 3 of them before my wife and I left. Each time he was making them, as well as the drinks my wife was having, he was doing tricks with the glassware and bottles. It was really cool to watch because there was only a few of us in the bar so we got to have more personable conversations. Great way to start our trip in Austin! We meant to make it back in the evening during one of our nights but unfortunately never did. Looking forward to coming back though!

I used to stop by Dizzy Rooster regularly and was sad to hear they had closed during coronavirus. Turns out they have re-opened under new ownership. They did a BIG remodel and the place looks great. Tons of TVs, clean bar, and it looks really great. Will be stopping back in often.

The Dizzy Rooster, or the locals simply call it the Rooster, is one of the many bars along downtown Austin's 6th Street. Seriously. It's a hole-in-the-wall, smallish in size. But a life-size Texas State outline on the far wall with the famous phrase by their beloved Texan, Matthew McConaughey, Alright, Alright, Alright in the center really infuses the idea of "enough". Plenty of bar space, and beer. No food is served, and the merchandise is hit and miss. I was only there at my sister's request for a trucker hat. The beer was cold, and the live music was a nice touch.

    Thanks Blake

Blake is the greatest bar tender ever tell what I like and he will have a drink for u!! Thanks for the therapy Blake

Feeling dizzy? You're not drinking hard enough! The Dizzy Rooster is a fine watering hole, with little touches like bottle caps on the columns to keep it personable. Honestly, this bar is much like its competition on 6th Street, which is a good thing since that means cheap, dependable drinks for us. Friendly bartender Ricky Bobby poured us F bombs, then mixed up a mind eraser - something I haven't had in years. Sitting at the bar, we enjoyed the Rooster's vibe, a bopping energy that never let down. The live music wasn't bad - just loud - and the other patrons didn't complain either. No cover, so stop in for a drink.

Eclectic decor, crowd and menu; it was very Austin! Service was excellent throughout and we enjoyed trying several dishes off their menu! Began with a cocktail called Roselite which was both delicious and beautiful then we tried a variety of their dishes! My absolute favorite was their oysters Rockefeller which were some of the best I have had anywhere! The topic was crispy and delicious and they were perfectly cooked! Also enjoyed the half dozen or their East Coast oysters that were delicious. Enjoyed their delicious yellowfin tuna with lemons, capers, shallots and olive oil. The fries and onion dip were also just excellent ! My only let down - and it was barely that as it was so delicious and fresh - was the smoked trout dip! Part of it was a me problem as I was comparing it to my favorite version made by State Bird - a famous eatery in San Francisco where this is one of their go to dishes - and part of it was that this restaurant has that Feankin BBQ tie so when they said smoked - I was looking forward to that smoke forward taste and their was none - but it was fresh, delicious and well prepared! Had a fantastic time here and will definitely go back! Highly recommend Uptown!

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.
