I initially started bringing my dog here when it was under different management, and my experiences were consistently positive at that time. Under the current owner, I have continued using the service despite it being an expensive grooming appointment ($120 each visit), expecting the same level of care and professionalism. After picking up my dog, I noticed his eyes were very red and he could barely open them. I called to calmly ask if anything might have happened during the grooming process. This was not an accusation, simply a concerned pet owner trying to understand what may have caused the issue. I was not given any clear explanation or details, and instead the owner Henry became immediately defensive, repeatedly insisting he "doesn't keep secrets" and that nothing happened. I was interrupted multiple times while trying to explain my concern, and the conversation felt tense and dismissive. After the call ended, I heard him yell "god damn" in the background. When I called back to ensure everything was okay, he stated he was "hangry" and again insisted nothing happened. He later left a voicemail that felt erratic, repeatedly mentioning he was hungry and stressed, referencing having "a lot of pots on fires," and stating he would make a note on my account. While I understand that business ownership can be stressful and that issues can occasionally occur, the lack of transparency, combined with the emotional volatility and erratic nature of the voicemail, was concerning. It raised questions about professionalism, emotional regulation, and overall safety in how customer concerns especially regarding animal wellbeing, are handled. Literally a 10/10 , we unfortunately made the wrong decision to take our lovely (scared/anxious) dog to Petco where they said he was being aggressive, We then drove by Zoe's and went in to ask for nail trimming prices and felt right at home! Along with the fact that they were so personable we got to watch them trim his nails and brush his teeth and he did not react in any way! Our dog Riley is an older dog and is pretty easy going but definitely still gets stinky and matted hair. Zoe's Pawfection was a great find! Henry, the owner, is incredibly accommodating and great at communicating. We have a few specific requirements that other groomers have ignored in the past, but they nail it every time. And you can tell they really care about the dogs--not just by with the attention to detail but the consideration for special circumstances like old and deaf dogs lol. We've used other mobile and big box store groomers in the past and it's all about turnaround, and my dog comes back wet and stressed, the special instructions ignored. My dogs get so excited when they arrive for their bath. This is THE ONLY dog spa, with an open grooming floor. Not like neighboring "doggy bath," locations that scurry your furry away into shrouded rooms and don't allow you to see exactly what is being done to your animal. As soon as you walk into the lobby you see home made dog treats, smiling workers and extremely happy dogs receiving royal treatment on the grooming floor. If you really love your dog, give them this experience and get them groomed at Zoes. Our Shi-Poo, Nola is older and a rescue so she's sometimes a bit finniky, but she looks fantastic after every groom and we're so pleased with the gentleness the owner and the groomers show her. The owner has a tricky job which is not much different than a human salon in many respects: our groomer and bather are wonderful but we wouldn't have access to Laila and Mariana without Zoe's Pawfection. Some of these long 1 star reviews are very strange to read -- we have never experienced anything other than tender loving kindness at Zoe's Pawfection. We were customers of Dee and stayed on when the new owner, Henry, took over. Since then we have been very pleased with the increased transparency. I love that when I walk in I can see (and hear) everything that is going on. I have never observed anything but the utmost professionalism. I don't get the sense the owner or the groomers are skimping on service or the products they use. Nola comes back looking great and smelling fantastic. On our last visit I inquired about boarding and Henry gave me a full tour of the facility. Some things I learned that I would have had no idea about had he not shared: They use a towel service because they don't want to run the dryer during normal operation hours because it upsets some dogs. This is not an express service. We did notice that our grooms took a bit longer but this is because they move at the speed of the dog and make it a spa day. I had no idea that they play with the dogs inbetween each step! Like, they have a curriculum! =) Apparently this keeps the dogs calmer so they can work more effectively. I've been taking my fur baby here since he was a puppy. They did his 1st cute. I was referred there by a friend. My 1st visit they gave me a tour, very nice and inviting. The place is very open, when you come in you see the grooming area. In the waiting area the are fresh dog treats to purchase, dog toys and even cute little outfit. They offer daycare service, boarding , and depending how far you stay a pet taxi! My fur baby get super excited whenever we pull up. The staff is very polite and always helpful. At first I was a bit worried bc you kno cats don't do well with grooming and stuff but Dee knew what she was doing and asked how I wanted my cats hair to be cut and what she liked. Overall my cat is pretty chill so I did trust that Misha (my cat) wouldn't give her a hard time. I called to be squeezed in that same day and she had room for Misha so I go to drop her off and then pick her up. We pick her up and Misha is a completely different cat! I took my dog here for a cut and grooming. They charged extra for some matting then left some of the matting on her ears. They did a real sloppy job on her cut as well. The paws were not cut well, uneven and straggling bits on 2 of her paws. There was uneven hair left on her underbelly and ridgline. The face was cut uneven as well. I brought my husky in for a bath, deshedding, and paw pad trim. When I came to check her in, I was told that the paw pad trim is only part of the mini groom package, which also included a sanitary trim and eye trim. I let them know I would only want the paw pad trim, but I also understood that it was offered in the package and was still fine with paying the full price of the package for just one part. At first look picking her up, she looked good and it seemed to be a successful groom. Later when I got home, I noticed her stomach was heavily shaved and done very patchily. Even a spot on her upper leg was shaved. I was so upset to see that they shaved her when I had stated I only wanted the paw pad trim. What made this even more upsetting was the fact that I was not only ignored, but it was offered as a trim, not a shave up to her rib cage. I would like to take a moment to say that I do appreciate Dee, the owner. When I called to notify them of this incident, she was very understanding of why this was so upsetting for me, as a husky is not supposed to be shaved unless medically necessary. My biggest hope is that no other pet parent has to go through this experience. My sweet girl has felt extremely embarrassed since returning home and all we can do is wait to see if her fur grows back properly. read more

Be aware of fees. I've been to Dee's Pawfection once for an anal expression and didn't have any issues. I booked a grooming appointment for my toy poodle a few months later but couldn't make it because I have had a fever after attending a family BBQ. In an abundance of precaution I stayed home and monitored my symptoms all day. The next day I called to reschedule and was told I had to pay $15. Wait what? Where did $15 come from??? From a contract I did not sign as of yet for grooming haha. No one said there was a charge for not making an appointment ONCE! In the interest of brevity for this post, the front desk employee won't credit the $15 fee, instead they would rather lose a potential client ~$650 yearly grooming income, over $15. read more

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. Non existent customer service. Will never return. I dropped my yorkie off at 10:50 am for an 11 am appointment. I received an email at approximately 1pm ish that she would be ready at 2pm. I called to ensure she would be ready at that time. I was told that she would not be ready -the email information was incorrect and there were 3 dogs ahead of her. No problem. By 530pm *they close at 6pm** I went back to the location to get my dog. The doors were locked. After being let in- I was told my dog was STILL not ready. I asked why I had not received a call, text or email since they were CLOSED and CHARGE a fee if your pet is not picked up BEFORE they close. Their response is that they tell you at drop off they cannot give a pick up time. How is pickup not during their open hours??? I told them to give me my dog whether she was done or not. Another employee then said she WAS done -they just hadn't had a chance to contact me. WHAT AND HOW?? About an 1.5 hr after I left, they called me to tell me they may have given me the WRONG dog. How??? Another customer who had the "same dog" felt they gave me HER dog because the dog they gave her was being aggressive and nipping at her. I told them MY dog isn't aggressive at all and is answering to her name. They then told me to stay by my phone because they were going to have a Vet at an emergency facility check the chip of the dog the woman had to ensure she had HER dog. This was my first and LAST time at Dee's. Horrible experience with very little expression of customer service. Save your time and stress and find a more reputable place for your fur baby. I would give ZERO stars if I could and still post my review. Also, her "grooming" is horrific. It's uneven, choppy and looks like a child cut her with childproof dull scissors. I called in for an appointment and I was told I had to pay $25 extra if I wanted fast service. When I say fast service I don't mean in 30 mins. It should take them at least an hour and half or two depending. The last time I took my baby to another groomer my baby didn't come out until after 4 hours. He is a Yorkie and he has separation anxiety and I was told by the groomer that they had other dogs before mine and I'm like why would you make me book an appointment at a specific time two weeks in advance and take my baby just to have him suffer for 4 hrs waiting. Anyways I walked in at Dee's and must I say the two ladies in the front were warm and welcoming. Me and my sister were impressed about how knowledgeable these two ladies were and they handled dogs fearlessly and with love! I asked for most experienced groomer and I was helped and the groomer did an amazing job and she took like an hour and 20mins probably it was fast and he came out looking clean and handsome! I am happy and thankful that Dee's followed instructions and did not chop my baby's hair like some rat ate it! He was beautifully trimmed and cleaned! I'm very happy that I found them! This groomer is horrible with communication skills. Even after my 7 month dog had an ear infection for having moisture inside her ear, I gave them another shot and brought my other dog there. This owner thinks i was going to go over and complain and try to get some time of reimbursement. I let you know so you will be aware, shih tzu's have floppy ears and need to make sure the ears are completely dry (that's all I was trying to do). instead of listening with your ears, you completely take it to a whole different level of unprofessionalism and lack of awareness. This owner not only yelled and raised his voice but had the audacity to continue this all the way to the door because my dog peed on his floor and poor man didn't bring any extra clothes and had to clean it up. Let me just start off by saying this, Dee is Amazing!!! I took my puppy Loki to Petco to get groomed and they told me that they couldn't do anything because he was very nervous. They also did a horrible job of clipping his nails. After talking on the phone with Dee, I knew my puppy was in great hands. I just had the worst experience of my life at this place because the owner really tried to gaslight me. I took my dog to get groomed which is a labradoodle and when I dropped him off I let them know his face was terribly matted and while I was there the groomers established that because it was so matted it would be an extra 40. I understood that. I took him a time before he was a little matted at that time too and it was only an extra 20. But when I was called to pick him up the receptionist let me know there was an extra 20 for handling fee because he was aggressive when trying to clean his ears. She asked me if I still wanted them to try cleaning his ears for an extra fee I said NO! I told the owner when I dropped him off that he would be a little trouble because he doesn't like his face touched. But once I picked him up I noticed he was shaking his ears really bad. I expressed my frustration about his ear shaking to the receptionist and she offered to call the owner but I told her I'd call back. But when I got home to my surprise I check Zeus' ears and both of them had dry blood on the tips from being clipped at the bottom. He wouldn't even let me touch them. I immediately went back and waited for the owner to get there for him to play in my face and tell me that his ears were bleeding because he was shaking them and they can get like that because of matting. I asked him where the blood came from and he said from the matting. We went back and forth, for him to not give me a refund of my 211 dollars and tell me he would take him to their vet and if it's something they did then they'll pay for it. But I didn't drop my dog off with his ears bleeding so who else did it? This place is a joke and I'm so mad I took him back because I knew I shouldn't have. I told him at any point my dog was getting aggressive or uncomfortable they didn't have to force it. They could have stopped and called me to tell me they couldn't finish the job because he was too aggressive and uncomfortable. I told him, y'all forced him (Zeus) to sit there and take it to finish the job which is damn near abuse because they could have stopped at any given moment. Dee's Pawfection is a fantastic place to take your pet for grooming. The work ethic and quality of service is extremely valued here. The owner, Dee, doesn't let our dogs leave the grooming station until she checks everything. She is also extremely receptive to requests and knowledgeable on whether something is good or should be done. This is the only groomer so far in Houston where the service has been easy and done well. Getting an appointment is easy and haven't turned us away. (We have two big breed dogs -great Pyrenees and golden retriever- and they are still super accommodating.) Our dogs are treated well and come home with no weird behaviors. Before we leave, the owner always asks if she can do anything or if the service was good. Don't bring your dogs here unless you want them to stay all day and be put in a kennel while they wait only to be scared and terrorized by the big dogs barking at them because they're not kenneled because they took in more dogs than they have kennels for! Plus they only had 3 groomers for the 25+ dogs they had. My 2 Yorkies were dropped off at 10am on Saturday and when I called at 1pm they had only had a bath and the person who answered said they'd be ready at the end of the day. So I went to pick them up, paid $90 for 2 baths. While paying my bill that's when I looked in the kennel room and saw these 2 big dogs running lose in this room and the employee just sitting there while these 2 dogs were scaring these little dogs in kennels. This one small white poodle I could see was shaking bad and had 3 spots of poop in his kennel because he was so scared. When I said something about it the employee at the desk said well that isn't your dog! I said I know that but still the pup wasn't being taken care of properly. If the owner of that pup saw what I did I am certain they would've been just as concerned as I was. I love my dogs and I will never bring them back to this awful place! read more

Our first visit to Dee was happy happenstance - Mayde Creek is our vet and we'd always seen how happy the pups were in the grooming wing. Dee did an excellent job. We're now steady customers with the rescue pup. What is FANTASTIC is that you're not upsold, not required to have a full groom, not waiting weeks for an appointment. We love our mobile groomer, but she won't visit just to trim nails or give a bath. Dee WILL work with us - on anything. What are you waiting for? Took my small dog here today and they did a good job despite my dog being aggressive they left him better than other places honestly but the only thing is it's a little bit pricey it was 75$ alone for the full groom cut, bath, nails, matting which it's not a bad price but they cut his nails and left them without filing and for the filing it was 19 dollars more, to be honest that should've been included it's just filling the nails that have been cut so they don't scratch, if you have a dog that bites and doesn't like getting groomed this place it's not bad but be prepared to pay 20$ more on top of the 75 they let me know it was going to be extra if my dog was too hard to work with but at least they could've filed his nails lol my total came out to be $106 with taxes for my small shitzu i can't complain because he looks cute and well groomed if that's their price so be it but i wanted to share my experience so others are prepared before they come and they charge them this amount! thanks so much read more

Lodging is not equipped for active or large dogs. The staff is too small to oversee day play, resulting in active dogs being crated the majority of the day. Even though, day play is included in the lodging charge and is more expensive than larger, adequately staffed facilities. But I had to try supporting a small business owner. read more

I was able to do a over the phone consultation with Dee about services, prices & was even able to schedule a appointment right then and there.
