And now you have the audacity to say that you left me several voice messages when I don't have a SINGLE one. I even told you that to your face. You even said that you didn't want to call while I was on vacation because you didn't want to ruin my trip. YOU said that, James. I don't have one missed call, not one voicemail, and I had my phone plan set to receive calls when I was traveling internationally. So don't come onto yelp with a response insinuating that I was careless IN ANY capacity. That is rich, truly. Secondly, you and your staff told me that my bird died during his first night with you. This is the very first time I'm hearing that he died on the 20th. You can't even tell me the facts correctly, yet you want to insinuate that I'm the one at fault here? The bird was in YOUR care. This level of carelessness and heartlessness is astonishing. It's one thing to try to make money, but it's another to be a bold-face liar. Here's a copy and paste of my email to you since you can't be bothered to respond me to there: I attempted to answer the phone twice when you called today. I even called the store and was greeted with a simple "Hello?" and immediately placed on hold when I told the receiver my name, which I find to be highly unprofessional. This past week has been especially tough on me as I'm processing the sudden death of my very healthy bird that was left in your care. I understand that I was given a $250 credit; however, given the weight of the situation, I feel the solution was handled with coldness and reduced down to a transaction as I come to terms with Daiquiri's death. This bird is so loved and his early demise isn't fair.  You're in the business of making money. I'm in the business of compassion, so we won't see eye to eye, they're just two concepts that are counterproductive, and I realize that. But given that this is the first death to happen while boarding in your store, your approach has confirmed to me that our values don't align. So, I am confirming that I cant give you any more business. I just can't. And I came to this conclusion during the untimely memorial of my beloved bird. He may have been small and worth a mere $250, but he was absolutely priceless to my family. I have been spontaneously sobbing. I've had to dry my daughter's tears. And as a parent, you know that when your child hurts, it is a deep heartache. I'm disappointed that it has come to this, that you lost a very loyal customer, and I lost a member of my family that I love dearly, but it is what it is, I suppose.  How you do one thing is how you do everything - remember that. read more

NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE !!! EVER On my FIRST time at the store buying feeder rats for my snake a employee by the name of Emily I think (The lady was sort of heavy set with brown hair) asked me "are your snakes RAT RACIST because mine are?" Now I'm a black female and she is a white female... imagine how that made me feel.. She never speaks when I walk in or even acknowledges me. I almost stopped going because of that but I just moved to Katy and they are close. So I gave them ANOTHER try but after today I for sure will NEVER be back. Today I go up there and stood at the register for about 5 min when i had to walk around and see if anybody else could help because the owner was running his mouth with a customer. Finally when I walk back he pays me attention. If you are the owner than ACT like it - be attentive around the WHOLE store not standing chatting with another customer when you have people waiting. I own snakes and sometimes snakes do not eat. So I have brought feeders up there before and got refunds IN CASH for them. Today the owner tells me he cannot refund them only surrender..... when i know for sure the rat was in good shape and he is going to put it back in the bin to make money off of it. It was a $12 large rat !! I asked for credit and i could not get ANYTHING but have received a refund before. If it is company policy that you cannot return live animals then MAKE SURE ALL WORKERS ARE AWARE !! The ONLY reason why I still go is because they have an employee who is VERY knowledgeable about snakes and helps me everytime. I ALWAYS Go straight to her and avoid the other employees because they never acknowledge me anyway. Maybe it is a racist thing going on not sure. The only employee who was nice was the short almost red headed/brownish haired lady. And she speaks to everyone unlike the other employees. Just all around not a good business in my eyes. Got my lovebird, Cabo from here almost 6 months ago. After a bath, I think he was too cold and went into shock. He would not move! I thought he was dying. I brought him to James and he took care of him and got him back to health, he also suggested I spray bathe him versus the sink bath I gave him. My wife bought a parrotlet from Brittany's Pet Depot and a year later, we went on vacation and we decided to use this same place to board our bird for a week while we were abroad in Europe. Upon returning home and visiting the business to retrieve our bird, they informed us that our beloved bird had died less than 24 hours of intake. They said they had no idea what happened and doubled down saying something like that had never happened before. Unfortunate and heartbreaking, but we are reasonable people and understand things in life happen. We visited the store again a few days later that same week and the manager offered us store credit that matched the original price of the bird that died under their care. I then informed him that matching store credit for the bird that died that we purchased from him initially was the bare minimum. If I buy a Toyota Camry, and I take the Camry and the engine explodes, I expect the dealership to reimburse me, but I also expect something for our troubles, a free car wash, maybe an extra incentive, etc. you get the picture. My wife had been emotionally wrecked all week, crying that her beloved bird was dead. In fact she cried IN the store when they handed the dead bird to her in a hamster box so we could bury it. I explained to him that matching store credit was the minimum and he should be able to give us more for our troubles, and our stress. He reluctantly gave me an extra $50 credit and began informing me that he wasn't responsible for the death of the bird and if we brought the bird to get tested, it would come back inconclusive, basically absolving him of any responsibility. He offered to get the test done, which is a few hundred dollars, which was nice of them, but why not just roll that cost into the purchase of another pet? The atmosphere turned a bit tense and I could tell he didnt want to do that. But my point wasn't trying to play the blame game, I was just fishing for signs of empathy. Even the coworker at the place told me we should 'take advantage' of the situation by getting a more expensive bird. I told the manager that most people wouldn't be back in the store a few days later to buy a bird where the original bird died, that the store credit is the reason we are back and that I could buy a bird literally anywhere in Houston. He did not seem to care. I was left with such a bad taste in my mouth that I went to a neighboring bird store and plopped down full price on another bird. Even the owner of the other place said a healthy bird dropping dead within a day seemed negligent. Regardless, I still felt slighted, because they didn't really seem to care that our bird died, nor attempt to give us any peace of mind, or try to go above and beyond. We took our business elsewhere immediately. We ate the $300 credit they offered us and for our own mental health we wont be back here again. To reiterate, our case is unique -- but beware if you need to board your pet with this establishment. read more

We moved to Katy a couple of months ago and were looking for a pet shop and groomers close to us. I found Brittany's Pet Depot on Yelp and Google, both places gave it great reviews, so I decided to check them out...I'm happy that I did. The staff is so friendly (they even remember my dog's name), the store is always clean and their inventory is well priced. I'm a big fan of their groomers, they pay close attention to my dog (who can get anxious when it's time for a bath) and do a great job making him look good, all while using organic products! If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. took my dog to do the self wash, which promises a basket of things... walk back there to a dirty, used basket on display for me to use. Asked for assistance on getting a clean one and the lady starts scavaging just looking for anything, then proceeds to take a bottle with a tiny bit of who knows what in it and fill it up with WATER! Wanted me to use that as shampoo!!!! just horrible, and horrible customer service. I got my money back and got out of there fast. read more

I stopped in after a friend recommended this store to me. First off, wow there is quite a selection! I went looking for a bed for my dog which is difficult since I like her beds to not only look nice, but be made of quality materials that will last. They have a whole isle of beds from ones that will fit in a crate to ones that are super plush and look good on their own. Is it more expensive than petco or petsmart? Yea perhaps. But the quality of the product is also much better. And I believe I won't be having to replace this bed as often as I do the ones from big pet stores (which saves money and time overall). Secondly, the animals there all seem to be very well taken care of. I took a look at the fish tanks and they are all clean and have no dead fish. The birds are all mostly babies that have been hand raised in the store, which makes them super friendly and eager for human attention. Cages were very clean and they all had food and clean water. They also have some exotics such as prairie dogs and a fennec Fox. They are cute but I don't know much about the care for these types of animals. But their cages were also clean and they seemed to be peacefully sleeping. Overall I would say I was quite pleased with this store. The selection is very big even though it seems like a small place. Staff was very friendly and even carried the big bed I bought up to the check out for me. They offered to carry it to my car as well which was very nice but I was able to handle it from there. To end my trip they held the door for me and gave me a friendly goodbye. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. They have every type of animal you can imagine, including bunnies and cockatoos. But what really caught my attention was how clean the store is... Including all the animal cages, the shelves, the products. This place is 1000 times better than any Petsmart from a product standpoint as well. After a long day of teaching, I spotted Brittany's Pet Depot & something told me to check it out. The employees were so polite! One was helping a group of teenagers; they left happy. I believe the owner was at the cash register & he was very polite. Their pet food selections are mostly, if not all, natural so I don't get overwhelmed like I did at the big chain. I was finally able to find a meal that my cats aren't allergic to (all duck meal, etc). Id rather support a local business like this. Also, each can of the 96% duck food is only 99 cents!!! Prices here are amazing!!! I've trid nearly all the "natural" foods up to $3/can at the big chains. Better quality selections at Brittany's Pet Depot. My kitty isn't getting sick anymore. read more

I came here for the first time. Less than a week ago. We were excited to see all of the items this store had. I spent damn near $300. I bought a bed and a Cat climber. Well. My cat wouldn't even go towards the bed so I came to return it. Never used. Spanking brand new. Tags and everything still on and I couldn't exchange it or receive a store credit. I didn't even want my money back because I knew I'd be coming back for something we could obviously/ definitely use. Even showing the transaction purchase with my bank account, she refused. Honestly. Being a business owner. I would offer a client who is requesting a store credit a store credit in a heart beat. This person wants to come back and shop for something they can actually use. It is just really poor for someone to have to keep a $50 bed that they'll never use when they are providing you proof of the purchase. Well. You live and learn. I let them keep the bed. Someone else will be able to use it. However I'll be spending my money elsewhere. With all the local owned pet stores around here, this is not the best place to spend your money. read more

I would give this place a zero if I could. We bought an animal from here it died within two weeks and they said we don't have a guarantee on our animals but we will give you a second for half off, so we picked a second animal and that one was dead within 48 hours and they said we don't know what we can do for you since this is your second animal to die from us. Then they proceeded to say the animals we got were at their store for ample time and don't know what I'm doing when I get home with them like I'm an animal killer. I have several other kind of animals that came from different stores and they are all still alive and thriving. I would not go here if you want an animal to last a long time at home. I have been here several times. They used to have a girl by the name of Arline who was a really good groomer, and I would take my dog there to be groomed. Now I am very concerned and will not go back. The owner, Jim, refuses to wear a mask or to make sure that his employees wear masks. This is AFTER the face mask rule was implemented by Judge Hidalgo. I had to speak to the employees myself, and then they wore a mask. I asked Jim why he was not wearing a mask, and after several times asking and being ignored, Jim replied that he has a health condition. I replied that I have several heavy duty health conditions and I am concerned about being around people in a confined space who are not wearing masks. It seems to me that Jim, the owner, couldn't care less about what is happening in our country. I feel you could drop dead in front of him and he would look down, acknowledge that you were there, step over you without helping you up, and go about his business. I will not go back and patronize Brittany's pet depot simply for this reason: his attitude. He is not a good neighbor for Katy. Sad, because this place did hold promise for me. The owner's lack of respect forced me to look elsewhere, and I'm so glad it did! I discovered Pet Supplies Plus on Highland Knolls, and they are the place I've been searching for! EVERYONE there wears a mask, they greet you as soon as you enter the store, walk around the store finding what you need, and they also have a free membership that builds points that you can redeem for product discounts! Their grooming staff is excellent, with their groomers' experience ranging from 20 to 40 years. I've never been ignored there, and my dog and I make regular trips there to get her premium food and pick out treats or toys. read more

The moment we walked into this store, and I heard bird chirping - I was in heaven. The bird selection and quality is OUTSTANDING, and the larger birds perched about the back of the store were an additional treat for show and tell. The 1st time I came in there I like how clean they were, when I walked in a young lady was at the front looked at me said nothing. After being there about 5 min, I was greeted from the back by a young Latina lady that was very energetic and smiling I loved her vibe, sorry I forgot her name. I felt like I wanted to come back especially after she explained to me you don't keep inventory in the back to ensure freshness. Now I have been in there 3 more times and one time a Latino guy was friendly and trying to help me look for what I came for but the store was out. Here is why I'm giving the 2 stars, the two other times I came in there it wasn't busy and you got 2-3 people at the cashier desk see me looking for something and don't ask can they help they ain't said hi nothing. These 2 times again don't have the food I'm looking for and nobody said nothing while they talk at the front. I said nothing either I just walked out. Please don't forget there are other pet food stores in the area big chains where they say hi every time I walk in.
