I absolutely love this place. The space is large enough for dogs to spread out, decompress, and socialize at their own pace, which makes such a difference--especially for shy or selective pups. There's always an employee circulating to refill water bowls and kiddie pools, but they're also clearly paying attention to dog behavior and dynamics. Every visit has felt safe and relaxed; we've never seen any scuffles, and the people who go here tend to be very laid‑back. One thing I really appreciate is the mix of dogs--purebreds and mutts, big and small. I felt completely comfortable bringing my Staffordshire Terrier, unlike at some dog bars that seem to have unspoken biases. My shy foster even ended up having the best time after taking a little space to settle in. The drinks are great, the vibe is amazing, and there are always plenty of dogs to love on. In town visiting my parents & they wanted to go to St Pete's for a beach day. The beach was great & we had a lovely time. My brother told me that they had something similar to the Beltline here so we wanted to check it out. While not exactly the same there was walking trails & business all around. We found a Dog Bar & since we had my pup we decided to stop in & check it out. I take my dog to restaurants & places all the time so I was kind of shocked when they told me that I had to pay $7 for him just to enter. There were lots of dogs for my pup to play with & he had a great time running around. My family sat down & ordered a drink off of the menu that they had available. My stepdad & siblings had Guinness & my mom & I opted for mocktails. The drinks were fine & everything was going well until one dog came over to my stepdad. My stepdad petted the dog & then the owner came over & proceeded to tell my family that her dog is racist against black people & she's not sure how this happened. My stepdad being the personable person he is he just smiled & conversed with her. Myself & my mom looked at each other like WTF. So I ask her what did she mean by that & she gets nervous & starts tripping over her words & tries to clean it up. I'm not the one so I kindly tell her that we don't engage with Karen's or racist people & told her to take her dog back over to her table. Clearly the people in here aren't used to being around melanated people. This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth so we left without even finishing our drinks. Every neighborhood needs a dog bar! We love stopping in to get our "doggie fix". It is so much fun watching the fur babies run and play. The doggie area is very secure so you can relax and not worry about escapes . It is off leash so there are requirements for entry (check with staff for details). There's lots of human seating in the doggie area. There are lots of space for the fur babies to run play and jump, as well as "pools" for splashed and cool down. If by some chance, you don't want to play with the dogs, you can move inside to the bar. Really nothing I could complain about here! Prices are good, service is fast and the "wooferees" clean up any accidents and spray any pups that are getting a little too rowdy with a water spray bottle. What's better than a sports bar with a bunch of cute, happy, fun loving dogs running all over the place? Nothing, the answer is nothing. We grabbed some great seats, had some great drinks (no food, for obvious reasons), watched football, and hung out with a bunch of cute dogs. As soon as we got there, Gigi (bulldog) was off and running and we barely saw her the entire 2+ hours we were there. The way the seats are situated it's very easy for all of the other pet friends to come up and hang out with you, which is exactly what happened. What could be better? With proper pet vaccinations precautions required for entry, I would say the only less-than-positive thing is, as expected, with dogs running around and drinking water there's undoubtedly some pee (and poo) happening - sometimes on the side, sometimes in the kiddie pools filled with ice. Which I think is important in Florida. The bar space is so much fun allowing dogs to literally be up on the bar and I saw several staff members throwing ice cubes to dogs. I honestly only come here because my dog enjoys it and I already paid the membership fee so I want to get use out of it. I prefer coming during the week for an hour or two while my dog runs around. It's much less crowded during the week. Weekends can be a nightmare. The bar lines are long and people don't clean up after their pets. The first time I came here on a weekend, my dog came home with fleas despite the fact that I have her on flea, tick and heart worm medicine. There was also a large Goldendoodle chasing my dog around and humping her last time with no owner in sight. I had to provide her vaccination records when I signed up for her membership but I've also seen male dogs that were definitely not neutered. I would just be careful if you come here on the weekend. Unsanitary and not safe. First off you enter this place and all you get is a strong smell of urine. Then you have to sign an agreement agreeing that your dog was spayed/neutered and had all there shots. While you're agreeing to that, you may find a Great Dane next to you (as we did) that was pulling its owner and clearly not neutered being let in. We LOVE this place! Seriously. We found Dogbar 3 years ago and our dog fell in love with the place, the people, the set up, etc. We enjoy the other members, the bartenders, and the dogs, of course. Drinks are very reasonable the location is great. The idea behind dog bar is awesome! I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to visit this place. Unfortunately I wasn't really feeling it. I went on a Football Sunday so the games were all on so that was nice. The layout is very confusing and almost feels like a maze or 4 different bars in the same area so it felt disconnected as far as mingling with others. The Bar is completely open air or outside so it can get pretty hot even with the fans. More of a beer bar although it is full bar. No food at this bar but there is a BBQ food truck outside average item $10 It's an extra $5 is you want your dog off leash in the play area which I actually thought was ridiculous for a bar whose entire theme is centered around dogs! So now that you've decided to enjoy the day with your fur baby it's going to cost you an additional $5 on top of the already over priced drinks if you want to be able to drink it without wrangling a leash. The play area is merely some fake grass that is mostly covered and another part of the bar. I do need to mention that contrary to another reviewer there are not separate play areas for little and big dogs so it's not really an option for the little guys. Dog Bar is a great concept that fell short in other aspects.
