Twice I've been here and twice they have been unsuccessful with my cocker spaniel. I was here 3 years ago and when I picked up my dog, she was only half done. They told me they couldn't clip her nails nor clip or shave her back and legs. They charged me $35 which is okay I guess. This second time today I was very disappointed. I left her at 12 and came to pick her up at 4. The lady charged me $35 and had called Linda to explain why the price was lowered. The lady brought out Mimi and basically she was the same. Linda told me they couldn't clip her nor shave her because my dog was uneasy. I was very upset at how unprofessional this business was for the SECOND time ! I didn't bring my dog for a bath because I can do that myself at home. But of course all she could do is apologize. By the end of the conversation I was told to try a different groomers because they have been unsuccessful. Probably the best thing they said. We've been taking our dog here for at least 6 years. This place is great! Sugar always looks and smells great when we get her back. The staff is friendly and courteous and very gentle. Our dog is fearful and they are great at calming her down. Sugar gets a trim, nails cut, brush out and they do an awesome job on her fluffy undercoat. They do a sanitary trim which is a must with her fluffy tail. I fully recommend this place. read more

When one decides to go hiking on a sprinkly/rainy day with a fluffy WHITE dog..... well, one will have to think about the colossal mess that comes after. So my white fluffy eskie was wet and muddy, and my go-to groomer relocated to Seattle, and I have yet to find another groomer for my dog. My sister found this place and told me that they can take my dog (and hers also - another white eskie who also went on the hike) in less than an hour for a wash. Whoop! Anyway, as a first timer, I am absolutely pleased! I dropped my dog off at the designated time, filled out a quick form about my dog and my contact info, then waited at home for a call. Painless process. When I picked him up, he was white and fluffy as ever!!! He smelled soooooooo good and so fresh and so CUTE! I just wanted to squish him all day. I love this place! My 5 month old puppy Holly has been here a handful of times for daycare and every time she passes out for the rest of the night, a sure sign that she's had a blast. Everyone that works there is really friendly and you can tell that they truly care about dogs. They treat Holly like one of their own. Linda the owner is very professional and nice and I applaud her for opening and growing a successful business (she's living my life). Jenna is there in the mornings and couldn't be sweeter. I don't know the name of the gal that is there in the afternoons but she is awesome too! When you sign up for daycare they provide a packet with all of their requirements and rules, which I think is great. I like to compare this place to private school, while other daycares like PetSmart are like public school. It's one stop shopping here, with a daycare, full grooming, and training classes. They also offer food, treats, toys, collars, etc. at very reasonable prices. My only wish is that I could afford to bring my dog in everyday! When it comes time for her to be groomed I'll use them as well. I'm more than happy to give these guys my money, couldn't be more pleased! read more

What a great place to take your dog! Be it for full grooming, self-wash, dog came/daycare, or buying that special treat or spiffy collar! Service is excellent and I don't know of harder-working staff and owners anywhere else. Dogs go in looking, well... not so great, and come out gorgeous and smelling good. Their dog camps/daycare are continually supervised to ensure everyone gets along - its a great socialization activity for dogs who enjoy playing with other dogs! Dog #1 is a Bernese Mountain dog with a few health problems, as big dogs are prone to have; Dog #2 is an enormous Rough Collie who is composed of at least 50% fur. The staff are incredibly gentle with my furry friends and are very gracious and tolerant given all the extra work it takes to give my dogs a bath and brush... Sometimes they even need to use extra shampoo! They both always come home squeaky clean, fluffy and happy. I don't know how they do it! Love this place! Found it on Yelp and given the good reviews I took my puppy Chewi last weekend for her first haircut! I was kind of scared since she's never had a haircut before but as soon as we walked in the owner greeted us warmly and Chewi loved her! I have only done the self wash here but I love that you get a private room which you pay by the hour and not the dog. I bring both of my bigger dogs here once a month for bath and it costs me less than $30 to wash them both. Towels, soap, and aprons are provided so I literally do not have to bring anything but my dogs. They even have a crate for people like me that bring both dogs. I usually wash my golden doodle first and my shepard second. My doodle has TOO much hair so it takes forever to dry him even with the super blower. Just got back from Dog Zone and the experience was great! My long haired cat went in due to matting and fecal matter that occurred a few days ago. She wouldn't let us touch her to try and remove it. I knew I had to take her into a place with an experienced groomer. My cat's vet recommended the Dog Zone! They took her in quickly and said our cat was very kind. They must have some tricks to get her still because my cat is very anxious. They clearly know what they are doing :) My cat looks great and will definitely be back for grooming! They (Tina) has always done a great job grooming our dogs. But we took our three Golden's in recently and was quoted a price of $135 for them to be washed, groomed, etc. when I picked them up the charge was $200. I have had very good experiences dropping my two big dogs off in the morning on a Saturday without an appointment. Getting my Akita groomed when she is blowing her coat is no small task. Came in today and the owner Linda was amazing as usual. The place is always sparkling clean when we come, which is a huge deal. The service is spectacular. And the staff is always super friendly. Our pit bull is all smiles every time we leave. There's a lot of nutty Yelp reviewers here who leave bad reviews because they don't even know the condition of their own dog. Loved the person who thought a yeast infection is a cut...umm yeah thanks for posting that pic buddy. Always good to put your ignorance on full display. What these half wits don't realize is that Linda is connected with board certified veterinary specialists and has more knowledge of animal health and safety than the regular groomer. My wife works at a specialty-only animal hospital in Los Angeles, and she only trusts Linda. We drive from Griffith Park, and there's about 20 other groomers between us and the Dog Zone. But we care about safety of our beloved pit bull and going anywhere else would be irresponsible. read more

I left a review about how my dog left The Dog Zone with a cut and bump on her head and Linda writes back telling me that that did not happen! Why would I make that up?!? It's like taking your kid to daycare- wound free, then when you pick him up, you notice a cut on him, so you call the daycare and ask what happened and they tell you that it didn't happen there when you know it couldn't have happened anywhere else!!! I've been a faithful customer and had no plans to go anywhere else until this happened. Yes, my dog is a short haired chihuahua. She is 10 pounds and has black hair. The bump is FELT on the top of her head and the cut and the SCAB can be felt and seen UNDER her hair. My dog is small! I'm not talking about a large bleeding gash or big laceration, but she DID leave with an injury that she DID NOT have when I brought her in. Linda, you're trying to tell me that's my PERCEPTION? That it didn't happen? Are you positive that that didn't happen during her services? How can you be sure? Were you there watching the whole time she was getting her bath and her nails trimmed? Probably not. However, I am CERTAIN that there was a bump and cut on my dog's head when we got home. Home is a two minute car ride away and I can assure you that she didn't hurt herself getting from your store to the car and from the car up to the house. You said if she had an injury, it would be visible to all. Well, it wasn't visible at all. It was palpable on the top of her head and the cut can be seen under her hair. I am not assuming that you are purposely hiding an injury of an animal. Maybe you were unaware! All I know is what I felt and saw. As pet owners, we are fully aware on the health statuses of our pets! I would know whether a wound was there or not since I hug and kiss my dog all day long and I know it was not there when we left the house that day. That wound took a few weeks to finally heal. I could tell she was in pain every time I would try to reassess the wound. I did not take her to the vet because I knew it was just a cut and it did not look infected. So please don't tell me it was my PERCEPTION. I didn't bother coming back and talking to you guys about it because, what's the point? I wasn't planning on coming back to you anyway. Everyone on Yelp is singing praises about the place. I just thought I'd share MY experience. Maybe this has never happened to anyone else, but it did happen to us. Instead of apologizing for that bad experience, you are telling me that something like that would never happen at your establishment. Well, it did. Maybe you should think twice before hastily writing back a reply to my review which pretty much is accusing me, the customer, of making up lies about your establishment for the sake of writing a bad review. I was referred by this location a couple months ago. Took my pup in and they gave her the most terrible cut. And it was $80! Not $50 like they want to advertise... Anyway they cut my dogs bum way to short and I mentioned why was it so uneven, oh we wanted to leave the dog a little "dignity" are you serious? I was so upset!! And I spoke to a "child" woman by the name of Tina- groomer. She wanted to fit me in to her already booked schedule but, u know what that means?? A rush job! So...... It was terrible, my child could do a better job! So to continue , I called today to ask for a different groomer thought the experience would b a lot better with a different person. So I get Tina the groomer on the phone again and she asked what my dogs name was and I told her. She then said, well I can try to fit u in again I'm like no way! She said let me check, and she's like ok we can do it today, I'd like another groomer please. Said, well that's the only availability we have. ??? BS! But anyway, tells me with attitude, "are u gonna bring her in or not?" Are you serious , I said? "Excuse me?" I said, "you shouldn't speak to high paying clients like that, why would I ever agree to bringing my dog in after the service I received in the beginning is the same as now!" She said, " ok" and proceeded to hang up in my face!!! I called back and said I would like to speak to your manager. "She's busy!" For a complaint on service, said yes n call back! Well. . that manager name is LINDA and how disrespectful maybe that's why ur ratings suck! Never going back to this place again. And if yelpers decide to go, make sure don't get TINA! I have been going here for a few Yrs. I take my 3 dogs here, and they come out looking so cute and groomed. I also like how I don't have to pick up the dogs right when they are done. I can come anytime before they close up shop. Works well with my schedule. I also procrastinate when it comes to keeping my dogs on a schedule, so even though I bring them in looking a hot mess, they come out looking like rich, little show dogs. I've taken my dog in several times. I like the people however the service isn't what I expected. It takes hours, sometimes 8 before being able to come pick up my dog. Last time she came back with shaver burn all over her belly and nipples. Ouch! I know my dog is hyper and anxious. However, I thought by now she would feel comfortable. I'm dissatisfied which is unfortunate because I really wanted to like it. At the end of the day, I have to go somewhere where my dog is more comfortable. I've been bringing my two pooches here for over a year and I am never disappointed. I have two mixed breeds, one shelter dog that is a terrier, all black short hair, and another that is a maltese mix that was an abandoned puppy (who would do that?). The groomers clearly love the doggies. One time I arrived to find that they were walking one of them so she could have a bathroom break! The dogs always smell great, the cuts are well done, their nails are trimmed and I never have to wait more than a couple of hours. This place is also very convenient to my workplace, so I drop them off on the way to work and I pick them up at lunchtime. Open every day now, too. I think that their prices are reasonable. I once tried a place over near my house - she charged the same, and honestly, her place looked like she had slapped it up with a couple of rubber rubs, a placemat and a few scissors, and away we go. My dog wasn't done when she said it was, and I had to keep coming back, and back, and back. I never went back again. Totally trust the Dog Zone, and highly recommend them. read more
