Very busy, and very dirty. The floors, the walls are full of spilled foodstuffs from days gone by. Ordered the chef salad and iced tea, chicken tenders, and a hot dog. Tenders were a bit overcooked, salad and dog were okay. Nice staff served quick enough. read more

The service was prompt, the server Aaron was friendly, patient and efficient, while the decor was fitting for an ocean front place with a carnival atmosphere. Plus it was clean! There were four of us: 3 adults and one child. Two orders of the mozzarella sticks got Is off to a delicious start. Then we ordered a large pizza, 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese. Stopped at the Dough Roller for lunch during our our annual Ocean City, MD Labor Day trip. We visited the one closest to the South end of the boardwalk, near Ripley's Believe it or Not. Our server was a Serbian college student, here on a work visa. She was very friendly and shared that it was only her second day. We ordered mozzarella sticks, BBQ wings and tater tots, pancakes, and a veggie sub. My daughter had the veggie sub, she was pretty happy with it overall. It was huge and she had to eat it with a fork. My husband had the pancakes and he really enjoyed them. I had the wings and tater tots. The amount of flies around our food made it hard for me to enjoy my wings. The tater tots were pretty good but they charged me for the special tater tots, which included bacon and cheese - even though I asked for them plain. I paid $12 for tater tots. That's not cool. Our lunch ended up costing $80 for 3 people. Granted we added mozzarella sticks, and a virgin and a regular Pina Colada but still, $80 for lunch and $103 once we added the tip was outrageous even for Ocean City. There was no military discount available. I think next year we will skip the Dough Roller and enjoy a meal that is much more affordable. read more

Great stop for the family on the board walk! We had pizza, wings, Italian cold cut and FUNNEL FRIES. Everything was great! The manager brought over toys for our babies to play with - so sweet. Came here with a group of 8 on a Friday night in the summer. We were still seated within 5-10 minutes. Our waitress, while friendly, wasn't very attentive and at one point was even sitting in a booth chatting with another server and texting on her phone while our group all needed refills for our drinks. Refills are not free, by the way. A few people in my group got pizza, which came out quickly and they said it was decent. I got a chicken cheesesteak with no roll, and 2 others in the group for chicken tenders and fries. The chicken for the cheesesteak was dry but had decent flavor. They have good pizza. It reminded us of bowling alley pizza. We got a 14" pepperoni pizza. We got battered onion rings which were not all that great and had a frozen taste plus it seemed as though they were the generic made type. They severed it with Texas Petal Sauce. The petal sauce also tasted frozen and was basically horse radish sauce and mayonnaise. The area we were sat in was dripping water from the ceiling and there was a dead fly on the table. We are here again for a quick bite and we are sat more by the front door, no water dripping and no dead fly. They have window service here plus the front door is open which invites the flies in. RUN AWAY!!!!!! The wife ordered Fried shrimp and I ordered Fried Clams. The Fried Shrimp were SUSHI! They were frozen when dropped into the oil and thawed when served. The Fried Clams were CRISPY. My wife and I had a really subpar experience here. I thought we had caught them on a bad day due to stopping in during the Ocean's Calling music festival, but judging by the reviews this place us always terrible. Our waitress was trying her best but they had 7 servers and only 4 mobile pads to take orders, so it took over 90 minutes to get an orange crush, after being told that the beer kegs were tapped out (30 minutes after placing our initial order). My BLT was bread, lettuce, and tomato, not a single strip of bacon. Just an overall bland and uninspiring place, with marked up prices. Go elsewhere. read more

Do yourself a favor and snack on some thrasher's fries then drive some distance away from the boardwalk. The Dough Roller is a perfect example of what happens to a place with a captive tourist audience- food quality was just terrible. We didn't even bother with a doggie bag for my literal dog. Had the cheese steak marinara, fries, coleslaw for one entree- I tried everything but personally had the taco salad with home made chili and we didn't know it at the time but the fried chicken place around the corner is part of the same establishment - had an order the day before. The Cheesesteak and chicken were just marginal. Coleslaw had a metallic taste to it so we didn't eat it. I had to ask for a re-make as the chicken was so dry it was like jerky- breading was so bland and thin, certainly not famous. I bet you go a block over and ask a local if they know of any famous chicken place nearby and they're just going to shrug. The "house made" chili should be ditched in favor for one out of a can - seriously, I think canned chili from dollar general is better. I gave one star for location and service. Both the waiter and cashier were friendly. On the fried chicken take out stand someone should consider having a chat with the very young staff about etiquette in front of customers- eating, cell use, horseplay/loud laughter is a behind the curtain activity. We looked forward to getting a Dough Roller pizza during our current visit to OC. We got a supreme, sides of onion rings and chicken tenders, and a salad as carry-out. Total bill $62 and, other than the onion rings which were marginal at best and the salad, it was basically inedible. The pizza was soggy and tasteless and the chicken tenders were bizarre---tiny, almost burnt, with a very off-putting spice/flavoring. If we had dined in, I would have asked for some amount to be taken off the check. Since it was carry out, just a case of live and learn. But never again for us. read more

This Dough Roller has a couple things going for it. #1 it's location, right on the Boardwalk, near the inlet. #2 decent pizza. After spending hours on the beach, hungry, the sun has sucked every bit of energy out of you. Dough Roller is easy access. Large restaurant. Our server was friendly. A food runner or different server brought out the drinks. Next a different server (or runner not sure) brought our pizza out. We both ran out of drink and sat awhile thinking he would could check on us since he had not actually served anything yet. He didn't. I got up with our empty cups and walked up to the counter and asked for refills. A third server filled them for me and I took them back to our table. The food is good but rather disappointed that they charge a percentage of your bill as a " service charge". No, this is not the tip added on, this is extra. We had a fried chicken meal that we shared, a ham & cheese hoagie that cost $17. And 3 drinks. Our service charge was almost $8.00 on top of our food, tax and tip! One member of our party just wanted an ice tea. She got charged .65 service charge, plus her bill, tax & tip. Right on the Ocean City Boardwalk, is a long standing restaurant that (unlike many of the other stands) have indoor seating. We came in at close to 8:30 pm and was seated right away. It took the waitress 10-15 min just to ask us for our drink order. With 3 children in tow under age 5, their initial service was lousy. It didn't get worse but not the greatest and the service people including a male manager was just sitting around. They would have gotten a 4 star because our food was piping hot and very fresh. The service issue will not allow me to be that generous. We ordered pancakes for one of the kids and it's was hot and fresh. We ordered the fried chicken and a cheeseburger sub. The 8 Pc fried chicken was hot and not over breaded. They split the breast so the chicken cooks faster. But also makes it less chicken to go around. The cheeseburger sub is just really good. It's fresh hamburger on a good sub roll with whatever toppings you want. I think that's their best dish honestly. Their food is better than Dumsers which is a few blocks from the rides off the boardwalk but much more spacious. Gave all the kids a yellow rubber duck with the tab- was a cute toy. read more

Pizza was ok, I was a little disappointed in all the hype. I think grottos is 100x better. Service left a little to be desired. We had a mishap with a kid getting sick at the table. The staff were very inappropriate in their laughter and lack of initiative to help. We even said we would clean it up but they just stood behind the counter laughing while the entire restaurant watched a 9 year old boy be embarrassed and humiliated at what happened. My husband and I stop in every year for pizza. It's a tradition. We had stopped in for a quick lunch and were told they were short staffed, but didn't mind. Our server Rasheem came over and got our drink orders and we gave him our food orders as well. He brought our drinks and salads right out. He checked in on us often. Another one of my favorite stops when I come to the beach. I usually get carry out but three friends and I decided to eat in today. If you're looking for somewhere to cool off, this isn't the place to go. No air conditioning- only ceiling fans and opened doors. The food was great. We split a large pepperoni pizza, which was more than enough for all of us. Probably because it was so damn hot in the place that we lost some of our appetites. The waitress was just ok, she seemed like she didn't want to be there but oh well. Pizza seems like it's going up in price, but everything is down there.
