This is one of our favorite neighborhood spots. It's a small space, but has a relaxed atmosphere, is friendly and unique with the wooded interior. I've been here at least 8 times now and have never had a bad experience. I bring the kiddo, grab a beer for me, an apple juice for him and order us a flat bread pizza, pretzel and just enjoy hanging out. There are always soccer games on if you're a fan and adorable dogs hang out from big to small. The rotating taps are always a fun surprise as it forces me to try new beer both local and non. Food is limited, but given the space offers more than enough options for a snack or a meal. I'm sure I'll keep coming back. read more

It's a sweet little bar with an interesting rotating tap selection, friendly bartenders, and a classy yet relaxed vibe. The Dray is among my favorite bars in Seattle! The theme here is a squirrels dray, which is a little nest of twigs, leaves and bark made by two squirrels as a winter den - what a perfect metaphor for a Seattle pub. The cozy interior has a warm glow from the wood lining the walls and the friendly bartenders and neighborhood folks who hang out here. Delicious beer selection including a wide variety of Belgian brews. They always play good music, but never so loud that you have to yell to have a conversation. This is the best place in Seattle for great beer, atmosphere, and no attitude - just friendly folks. This is even a pleasant stop for an afternoon coffee. read more

Great beer selection but stay away from Tracey, the bartender. I've never felt so I welcomed at a bar in my life. She seems to be extra sweet to the regulars but the rest of us are treated like second class citizens. Worst part, she jokes about her being rude and sassy to people. 'Get a new job'. The Dray is the brainchild of beer brainiacs. These guys know their stuff. I don't know my stuff, so I was happy when they let me lean on them for beer support. I got unintentionally loaded because most of the awesome, smokey, weird, Belgian, Trappist, delicious fermentations that I was glugging down were staggeringly potent. Great place. We went in to this place yesterday evening. It's a nice, cozy space with great beer on tap. The bartender seriously lacked courtesy and she was reluctant to serve us, finished some tidying up before greeting us, though she clearly saw us waiting. I felt that we were bothering her by ordering a couple of beers. It felt a bit clique-y. Maybe they aren't taking any applications for new patrons? My husband and I didn't feel very welcome and it's doubtful that we will return. read more

Woah, woah woah. Have you noticed the custom painted "Drey" ambulance parked outside? Here's the scoop (at least a reputable rumor....): this 'mobile, which has been completely reupholstered inside, has been created to transport Dray patronizers who are also Sounders fans to Sounders games. Show up at the Dray before the game, drink some fine fine brew, drink more fine fine brew on the way to the game, and at the game, then on the way back from the game. Then get a cab ride home from the Dray (lest you wind up with a ride from a real ambulance after riding home in the beer'bulance). Holla!!!! I'm not sure about the details of this marvelous new service invention (such as cost, when it is offered, if you have to be friends with the owner or if you can just go), but I loooove it. Like some of the reviews on here, I would give it 5 stars if they had more food and more room. This place is great! And they have soccer on 24/7. The beer choices were great and the vibe was relaxed. My friend and I stopped by and had a couple of beers and Paninis for lunch and were quite impressed. I'll be back for sure. read more

Good selection of draft beers for people who like the sort of viscous, piss-warm, stew-tastin' pints that pass for beer in Seattle (which is totally not the bar's fault). The sandwich menu looks OK in a pinch, but not something I'd go across the street for. They stock landjaeger, an oddity in Seattle. On the whole a useful neighborhood place. Dog friendly and a bunch of beers I've never heard of, not to mention friendly staff! What a great little bar, and by little I mean smaller than Liberty. Mid-day the sun comes right through the main windows and is well lit naturally. Vitamin D is a hot commodity in Seattle, why sit in a cave bar during the day? First impression was excellent and I'll be coming back. On a side note, I also heard on KEXP that the owner of the Dray pledged during their drive; so the owner probably gives a damn about their community. Awesome. read more

Spent half the day here yesterday. Met a girl that introduced me to a new sci-fi author, and a bartender that surfs and looks way to young to be older than me. The beer is plenty, the choices are excellent, and Jason the BT knows what's up. Wonderful selection, great atmosphere, and all the ingredients for a smashing good time. Don't go here if you hate yourself and find good times to be annoying and lack-luster. Terrible place to go if you are looking for reasons to hate life. All I can say is that The Dray is a great, great, great, neighborhood bar to go and grab a few drinks. They have a rotating selection of beers, so if you find something you like, get it while it's hot, because it will soon be gone. The staff and atmosphere are great. There are a few TV's showing various sporting events, but that's not a big draw to the place, for me at least. I'd love to tell everyone to go, but I don't want it to get too crowded, so keep it to yourself... just kidding. read more

I have been to the Dray on several occasions and always left satisfied. I really love the beer selection that they have and the fact that it is rotating. They tend to carry some of the best beers in town that are hard to find someplace else despite the fact that Seattle has so many bars and pubs. The bartenders are nice, fast and extremely knowledgeable about the beer they serve. I usually tell them what kind of a mood I am in, and what kind of a beer I would like and ask for their suggestions. This approach allows me to try many beers that otherwise I would not know about myself. Their suggestions were always right on. I love the mountain shack atmosphere in the place. Mellow, warm feel helps people relax. I go by myself or friends and always end up talking to the other patrons at the bar. Great friendly neighborhood feel. Did not try the food yet, but I heard that it is scrumptious. And the best thing about the Dray is that it is dog friendly. You can bring your dog and let it off leash (if well behaved) and no one will say a thing. I had three Jack Russell's one night and no one complained, the patrons or the bartender. The owner is too stubborn. I've come in multiple times when the bar is empty or near empty and asked if I could watch a different soccer game on the second TV. Even if no one is watching the second TV after the game has already started he still won't change the channel... The beer is good, but no better than any decent bar in Seattle. This is one of those places that this city loves...There's too much wood, no one talks to each other, there's always soccer on TV and the beer is always a bit snooty....Really, I can deal with all the rest, but the over use of wood makes this place somewhat uncomfortable. Intimate bar setting on top of an expansive selection of bottled/can beer (to go!), and an express toaster oven makes this a go-to for those seeking tasty beer and inspired sammys. Though small, decorative details - like the very cool bronze tree sculpturing behind the bar - and the thematic squirrels throughout keeps the eyes wandering and create a playful and carefree space.
