Visited this taproom with a couple of friends and loved it! Loved the atmospheres and ambiance here. The seating is spacious it doesn't feel crowded even when it's busy. They have a wide range of draft beer choices on tap, and we all loved our drinks. My personal favorite is the SteepleJack Tropical Pils which is pretty light with a fruity note. I usually don't have much expectations on food in taprooms but the pizza here was amazing! We got a burrata pizza and it was freshly made & baked in the oven. It was crispy & just overall delicious! Tried here at Trailhead a couple times and between the two visits, it's just ok. Nothing bad, but nothing great or memorable to set it apart from say... Ballard pizza Co. On both visits I got pies and some drinks. Beers and the selection they have is OK, but again, this place is surrounded by breweries. The thing that sets it apart is the pizza, or the ability to get food whilst drinking that isn't a food truck. Well how's the pizza...? You guessed it. Just ok. A decent selection but it's wood fired. Not very saucy or cheesy though. On the latest visit our server...just seemed like he had ants in his pants or something. He spoke real fast and just overall seemed hurried like he was ready to go. It was a bit awkward. Maybe it was me. Either way Trail head is a little quieter than the rest of the drinking spots in the area and welcomes parties of 4+ so you can easily come for that usually without much wait, but beyond that it's pretty average here to me. read more

A cute spot for drinks and pizza -- this is nestled right in the heart of the Ballard Brewery District, but stands out from the rest! We ended our evening of brewery hopping here and got some great food.They have an awesome selection of beers and a generally huge tap list, including some delicious hazy IPAs. I also got the Yard Margarita cocktail and really liked that too! The pizza here was SO. GOOD. I was truly blown away that a brewery and tap room was making such delicious pies -- they have a great mix of the classic red sauce with other bases. Yum! This place has great pizza! It is New york style thin crust pizza with lots of different options for toppings. The pies are not huge so its good to order a salad or side if sharing the pizza. I would order 2 pies for sure if there were more than 2 people or if you are both extra hungry! The drinks options also include cocktails here which is great because I love a good cocktail. I tried the Smash which includes gin, citrus, and basil. It was nice and herbal just the way I like it. They also have 28 rotating beers on tap! For the pizza we shared the Cicero pizza that comes with a lot of Italian meats. It was delicious! But all the pizzas sound good honestly. I also ordered the Caesar salad and it was a nice size with fresh crunchy lettuce and lots of parm. I went to a fairly new brewery next door and decided to duck in here for a light snack and to check out their tap list. The tap list for beverages is huge. I went with something I don't often get but almost always enjoy and got a craft root beer on tap from one of the local craft beer breweries in the area. The root beer was wonderful! You are starting to see more and more at select breweries that they also brew root beer. It definitely is a gourmet spin to this sofa often with very taste bud pleasing results. For my light snack I got the pickled vegetables from the appetizer section. Nice selection of various kinds of veggies all pickled. Some of the best pizza I've had. After we landed in Seattle our first stop was LUNCH since we were starving. We opted to go to Trailbend and I'm so glad we did. It's located in such a great neighborhood with other taprooms nearby. Their bar has a huge selection of rotating taps. I opted for a sour and then a cider and both were delicious. But let's get to the important part: the pizza! We ordered three pizzas - the new Cascades pizza which had pesto - Enigma (without prosciutto) - garlic herb oil, mozzarella, provolone, egg, lemony arugula, pecorino, pistachio - Chelan - garlic herb oil, mozzarella, provolone, mixed mushroom, pecorino HOLY CRAP this was all delicious. The crust is so good and the ingredients were fresh and went so well together. We also got some apps: their garlic boat and the pretzel knots. I might continue dreaming about these pretzel knots for years to come. The space is so industrial and cool and the service was top notch. Can't wait to be back! read more

Food is generally good. $13/$14 for two tiny pretzels is not great though. Good beer selection.

I think the food overall is fine but the prices are far too high and they give very little protein in the dishes. For example, a salad is $18 (fairly high for having no protein) and $7 extra for chicken but they give you a small amount of chicken. Similar for their sandwiches like the butternut squash where it should be the main ingredient but it's a fairly small amount. For kids, the kids pizza is definitely worth it. Avoid the pasta with butter sauce, they give you a bunch of flatbread and an absurdly little amount of pasta. My toddler finished it in mins, was still hungry, and we had to go home and feed him more dinner. Overall, this place could be great and we'd go more often if the prices were better and the dishes had less filler items. read more

Kids pasta was simple but fine and the side of flatbread was actually amazing. The wings were the best that we ordered, nice and crisp but still flavorful and moist. The sandwich was good but a tad dry and the side salad was nice and fresh. Food was so so and felt like it was overpriced for what you got. Came here last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. Not crowded on a week night which was great. Parking was easy too since it's not on Ballard's main drag. She let me try all the ciders, which I decided i didn't like any of them and went with a rose. We all shared the garlic boat, and if you like roasted whole garlic, you'll like this dish! I enjoyed my pizza. Cody liked his pesto chicken sandwich. Our friends got the butternut squash and goat cheese sandwich and they all said it was delicious. One thing they said they couldn't do was split a check for a party of 6+. So we got handed 1 check for 8 ppl. Have you ever wondered where people go after the breweries have closed in Ballard?! Trailbend is where! We found out about this place from one of the guys at Reuben's. And it's conveniently located just around the corner. A total hidden gem in the neighborhood! We came with about 10 deep cuz (1) the breweries were closed; (2) we were hungry; (3) we were still thirsty and, lastly, (4) it was within walking distance. Their tap list has a pretty good selection which spans just about everything in the beer universe from pilsners to stouts. AND they have liquor, too. Fancy some scotch? They've got you covered. The first time we came through we had the meatballs (good) and balsamic blue salad (also good). The next time they were doing last call for the kitchen and only serving pizza - we didn't bother ordering, since we just wanted "one more" to celebrate my buddy's 40th. Please know that they don't brew their own beer but rather have a bunch of beer they can pour from other local breweries. The food is excellent. After patronizing a few of the local breweries, we stopped at Trailbend for some food. We sat at the bar and ordered the pretzel knots and the Enigma pizza, along with a few draft beers. The pretzel knots were delicious and we really enjoyed the dips that came with. Decent beer cheese and a few different mustards. Not too much salt on the pretzels, which was also great since we didn't want the roofs of our mouths all sliced up from those giant pieces of tasty rock. The Enigma pizza was so weird but so good! It had garlic herb oil, mozzarella, provolone, egg, lemony arugula, pecorino, prosciutto, and pistachio. Honestly, we were sold on the runny egg that was included and it really made the whole pizza sing. It hit almost every taste profile (salty, sour, bitter, etc). I would love to try making this at home but there's no way I could get my crust that charred and crispy. read more

I love going to Trailbend Taproom because of their great beer selection and modern, yet casual, atmosphere. They are seating at reduced capacity and I believe their beer menu is also currently limited due to COVID, but I definitely recommend a visit if you are in Ballard. It's a great place to stop for dinner and a beer if you are in the mood to brewery hop in the neighborhood -- it's walking distance to a lot of the other local brew pubs. Trailbend's staff is great -- I have always had solid service and I rarely have to wait for a table. I usually get a pizza and I'm quite embarrassed to say that I can easily put down the entire pizza by myself, but it could also be shared between two people to make a meal. One of my friends ordered the beef bulgogi last time and she also loved it! Pro tip: if you are uncomfortable eating indoors these days, they have a small patio for outdoor seating that would be perfect on a nice day. The patio is pretty small, so make sure you get there early to avoid a long wait. If you do end up having to wait for a table, you can easily hop around to some of the other breweries and they will call you when your table is ready! :) read more

I need to visit this end of my neighborhood more often. My friend and I went to Stoup for a pop up craft fair and were looking for a place to eat in walking distance so glad we stumbled upon this spot. There are some picnic tables for outdoor seating and a roll up door towards the front. Indoor tables and seats at the bar. We absolutely loved the pizza we ordered The Enigma-garlic herb oil, mozzarella, provolone, egg, lemony arugula, pecorino, prosciutto, pistachios. So delicious not overly cheesy and great chew to the crust. The roasted beet salad was tasty as well you can never go wrong with beets, cheese, arugula and pistachios. We had a couple of drinks as well. The service was friendly and the staff was well informed on what's on tap. Food came out fast. Looking forward to my next visit and trying more items on the menu! read more

There seems to be a never-ending supply of breweries and tap rooms in Ballard, both new and old. Trailbend is one of the newer tap rooms and have already nailed their beer list, their atmosphere and their service. This is no small task for a new restaurant which makes it even more impressive. First the beer. They have a very extensive tap list covering every type of beer and cider available, totaling at least 40 taps. They also indicate which beers/ciders they'll be serving once the existing keg is empty which is a really nice touch. There are a few places with more taps - like Yard house - but without the charm of Trailbend. Second is the atmosphere. I was there with a group of guys on a Wednesday night and it got crowded quickly so I'd imagine the weekends would be happening here. There's a lot of dark wood accents contrasting with light wood which makes it feel really comfortable and sets a great mood for a date night or a get together. The only downside is that the chairs and benches are also made of wood and are flat, so they get a bit uncomfortable after extended period and eating/drinking. But this is one of the only cons I could think of. Third is the service. I was in a party of 9 guys and the servers were very attentive the entire time. They even remembered which beers each person was drinking and never had us wait for a refill, which is impressive given their extensive beer list. Their food was also good, specifically their pizzas. They have a pizza oven which churns out pizzas quickly thanks to their thinner crust, so you don't have to wait very long for your order. As you can tell I'm a huge fan of this place and will be returning often despite how far it is from my house! read more

Anyway, great selection of beer, a few wines, tasty cocktails, and delicious foods. The menu is simple, but well executed and features pizza, bowls, salads, and sandwiches. It's always nice to see so many vegetarian options and lighter fare offered in a world obsessed with mac & cheese and fried things lately. They are a little out of the way which takes them a bit out of the hubub (to everyone's benefit!) The front of the restaurant features sliding windows which gives the whole place an airy inside/outside feel and then they have beautiful covered outdoor tables too. Great stop! They have about 40 taps to choose from, lots of local beers and there's something there for everyone. For dinner I had the steak sandwich. It was delicious. The bread tasted homemade and came with a ton of meat. It also came with a salad, it was actually pretty big for being an included side salad. I sampled the pizza which was delicious, a good variety to choose from as well. This was definitely a good stop, off the beaten path in Seattle.
