Played trivia at the Dubliner last night. Trivia was definitely the highlight. Service was slow, semi-friendly, sporadic, and frustrating. This may have been because it seemed there were only 2 servers. The beer was cold and chap- great combo when it comes to beer. The boneless wings were decent, the carrots and celery were sub par (pretty hard to mess up those veggies), but the blue cheese was great- lots of blue cheese chunks. The Shepards pie was hot and looked good, but was just average- adding Tabasco helped. read more

Went in for fish 'n chips today - I was greeted on entry and told I "could sit anywhere." I waited for service that never came - finally got up and walked out after about ten minutes. I was in view of the server - and watched her wait on at least two groups that came in after I did. She was the same person that greeted me when I entered - so no excuse. I doubt I'd go back. read more

A local favorite of mine. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but a suprisingly decent menu and full bar. Always live music, which is my favorite part. All types are welcome here, but it can get busy at times and they never seem to be staffed for it, so don't be too upset it it takes a while for your drinks. The Dubliner is not an authentic Irish Pub but it is one of my favorite bars to go to because the crowd is down to earth and drinks are CHEAP. Where else can you get a red bull vodka for $4? The crowd is a diverse mix of hipsters, hippies, skaters, and a few old weirdos here and there. If you went to high school in the area your bound to run into someone you haven't seen in years. Had lunch there today with our corvette club. The service and food were outstanding. Loved the Shepard pie.

This is the Irish bar in its purest form. Plenty of dart boards line the walls and pitchers float around by the dozen. There are a few long drinking hall style tables which are always entertaining for big groups. The service staff is no-nonsense, but good. The crowd is my favorite aspect at the Dubliner. None of the typical Scottsdale attitudes and cheeziness will be found here . . . and if it is, it won't stay long. Good live music takes it up a notch and puts it into the top five of my favorite bars in town. read more

Always a good time at the Dubliner. We used to come here almost every Saturday night and while it is difficult to get a sitting or standing table, there is a lot of room to stand around, hehe. We usually end up playing darts or something. The staff is always polite and you can tell they like working there. That's always good. The beef stew is awesome. Bring on the fried pickles! The round ones are better, but they started doing spears, so hope that changes. Overall such a fun place! read more

I dig the Dubliner. It is a great place to grab a bite and a brew while enjoying local, live music. They have a great beer selection, full bar and an extensive (for a bar) food menu. I have only had the sweet potato fries, but they were cooked to crispy perfection. I wish I could give Dubliner more stars, but there are a couple of things that drive me bonkers about this place. First and foremost, there is always a mob of people sitting outside the front door smoking. There is no way to circumvent the raunchy cloud of toxins. I wish they would move the smoking area a few feet further from the door (maybe in the back/side parking area, hint, hint). Also, on Friday and Saturday nights there are not enough servers here. Service at the bar is usually prompt, but if you are at a table, good luck! You are probably better off burning a calorie or three and walking to the bar for your next round, than waiting for a server to come to you. It's not that they are slacking, there just aren't enough of them. Add another server or two when the place is packed, get the smoke out of my face, then I'd up this to a four star rating. Stop by the Dubliner, and support a local band/musician! read more

It has been awhile since I have visited the Dubliner. The only reason I haven't frequented the place lately is because I don't live near them anymore so I can't just either walk home or call a cab for 5 min ride. However there drinks are strong and cheap! Either that or the bartender was being very friendly on the few times I have visited :) The food is not to shabby either. I mean you can't possibly mess up fish and chips. Hmm fish and chips. So go, check it out, but remember if you have too many, call a cab. I have been coming here in and off for years. It's a great place to hangout with friends and they have great bar food. Unfortunately, the staff cares more about talking with each other than serving their customers! I sure hope they learn the value of good customer service soon or I will be disappearing again... read more

The highlight of this place is that they actually have Kilkenny on tap, one of my favorite beers. That's about it. The place is very dark, and most of the people that come here are trash. Washed out biker types and the local punks. They have darts which is a nice touch. They loose points for having armed security walking about. It makes me really uncomfortable for these guys to be open carrying in a bar. There is absolutely no reason to have armed bouncers. If the place is that dangerous, they should have a uniformed officer stationed outside. read more

Service was terrible. We ordered beers and food. Food never came out after about an hour after she said it will be out soon. She waited about 30 min to even show her face around our table for another beer. She was very busy flirting with a group of about 8 guys grabbing and touching them. When we mentioned our food she said "I'm so sorry, remind me what you ordered. Next time you have to let us know" Why do I have to remind you?? It was not even busy. Stop flirting with every guy you see and do your job! read more

This place can get really awesome or really dull dependent on one solitary man resembling a leprechaun with a filthy mouth and penchant for calling out mouthy toolbags, all while playing the guitar and happily caroling away in Irish drinking hymnals. It can get really crowded, which makes standing really tedious and plants a target on your big forehead for the leprechaun to abuse. On St. Paddy's Day, this place is chaos, and like most other forced holidays is not worth getting into the carnival atmosphere just to say you did it. Cash-only holidays get old in a hurry. read more

We were really looking forward to some good Irish grub, unfortunately, it didn't happen here. The Shepherd's Pie "gravy" was watery and tasteless, and there wasn't much meat. The irish stew was cold and and bland. The wait staff was nice, but service was lacking. Everything took a long time, and the most disappointing was dessert. Though the bread pudding was good, we asked for ice cream on it, and the waitress waited too long to bring it to our table so the ice cream was almost completely melted. I was a regular customer at The Dubliner. When I tragically lost a close friend I went to Dubliner while I was grieving and Chris the bartender was very respectful and sincere with me. One of the owners, John, has been social with me and we've had some insightful political conversations. But on the night of October 23rd 2015 one of the managers, Tara, treated me very poorly. So poorly that I will never step foot in that establishment again. Professionalism is a foreign idea to her. Taras child like behavior was uncanny and on display when she confronted me in front off the bar. Pretty sad really. read more

The " Dub" as my friends refer to it as is my local Pub that i roll when i just want to have a relaxed and fun time. Some of my favorite parts of the pub include the live music that is offerened almost 7 days a week and the nice variety of people who enter the establishment. Friday and Saturday like most places is the Dubliner's busiest night when it is rather busy. There are some things that could be improved on including better drink prices and more game options. Overall this is a fun place but not the flashest or most hip. The crowd is not always the most attractive either. but get a couple of Blue Moons in yah and even the 63 biker chick in the corner will start to look a little better read more

Three of us came here on a Friday night at about 7:30. The waitress was too busy socializing with her friends at a nearby table to actually do much for us. She couldn't remember how much a pitcher of beer was. We found out at the end of the night that they are $17! A little pricey considering this is a dive bar with broke-looking customers such as ourselves! :-P The food was ok, once we got it. My booth seat was broken and it would fall inside of itself if I leaned on it wrong. That could be embarrassing if I wasn't careful! The main thing is the service was horrible. Good bar vibe...Arizona civil war college football games were playing the night I was here so the crowd was great, and the elderly gentleman playing old Irish tunes on the stage up front added to the lively environment. Was in a strip mall setting and I was visiting from out of town so I would have not noticed it had my friend not taken me here. Still though, love my Irish pubs, whiskey, and Guinness. read more

Been here twice now. The first time we had pretty good food (honey-hot chicken wings). We went back Saturday 2/16/19 and the food was not very good at all. Their fish and chips was awful!!! Little pieces over cooked and looked more like fish sticks. Not a good feeling after the first time the food was edible. We would maybe go back for beer and drinks but definitely not for any food. read more

I think I just had the worst waitress I've ever had. I guess it's a milestone. She took a while to get to our table, no big deal. Told us they were out of the beer my boyfriend ordered, then remembered maybe they weren't. Brought me a dish that wasn't what I ordered. After my bf finished his meal I was brought salmon so overcooked it was hard, 'lemon caper sauce' that tasted like flour mixed in water, and boxed mashed potatoes. The mixed veggies were OK. My boyfriend ordered a refill on his all-you-can eat fish fry and another beer. She forgot it all and came back a while later to ask if he wanted more (!?). I tasted the fish fry. Flavorless cod, just like they rolled it in plain flour, with pre-packaged French fries. I'll never understand why a restaurant can't cut and fry a potato. The fish refill came without the sauce for which he'd asked. The waitress did offer a free Guinness, but I had to pay full price for the salmon dinner I didn't eat and complained about. At least I was entertained by the band butchering some cover tunes. Doesn't make me want to rush to the Green Isle anytime soon. read more

Full bar, happy hour specials and traditional Irish Fare. I've been twice and been happy each time. Husband got "Boxty" chicken in gravy folded in a pancake - its fantastic. I always get a garden salad with chicken, which is fresh, hearty and healthy. Happy to say this will be a regular stop for us! Service has always been good. read more

The food is freaking amazing but the service is decent. Super laid back bar that I totally dig, I just wish the servers were more attentive. I usually sit at the bar top and get amazing service. It was also a slow day when we went.. it was during happy hour and we still had to wait about 10 mins to get serve.. about 10 mins to get our food order in and about 20 mins after our meal to get the check. Also my boyfriend ordered a Budweiser and received a warm bud light. However hands down the best spinach dip in town! read more

When the manager's away, the staff will do absolutely nothing but try to get laid and ignore paying customers. Really sad because we've been here a lot over the last few years, and always had a good experience. Last night, it was like everyone got stoned and forgot they were actually working. It wasn't even busy, and we repeatedly had to track down our server to ask for drinks, food, and the check. It was so bad, all of the tables around us cashed out, and started going to the bar for drinks... When we followed suit, we had to actually go track down the bartender (who was busy chatting with a young blonde at the of the bar) and tell him we wanted to order drinks. The Dubliner is close to my house and pours a damn good Guinness. Food is mediocre at best. You might wait awhile for your drinks, but it does take time to pour a good pint. I do have to run screaming from the building when they have Irish music nights. As much as I love my people, that high pitched little Irish flute thing they play makes me wonder if there are dogs all over the neighborhood being terribly disturbed. Great neighborhood bar, food meh. You can't really go wrong with an order of potato skins when you're drunk though....so there's that. read more

Went for a late night dinner to see The Sea Merchants perform. Had never been here before and were amazed at how packed the place was! Service was cheerful and probably could have used a little more help - not sure they were expecting the crowd they got last night, but we were enjoying the music and not too concerned with how fast service was. Had the Guinness Chicken, sweet potato fries, the Irish soda bread and washed it all down with a couple of brews. All pretty good. I'd recommend the place for a good time with friends. Relaxed, casual and fun! And the Sea Merchants performance was a rockin' good time! read more

Had a bad experience here a couple months ago with a bartender. We told the owner about her, and I haven't seen her around there since. Went back last night to see authority zero play and I had a great time! The bar was literally PACKED. Wall to wall. Found a small spot at the bar and was served my drinks super quick! This place has the WORST service ever. I went in on Monday the 21st and literally sat there for 30 mins without even a look my way. i saw about 4 or 5 cocktail waitresses (2 of which were pregnant) walk by me and my empty table about 6 or 7 times before I was fed up. I just wanted a drink after work and after stopping by this place, I lost all interest. I hope someone(manager/owner) reads this and realizes that they are losing business. I love this place for what it is: a neighborhood Irish dive. You cannot rate this place on any other scale. Yes, the furniture is old and faded. The food is not made by a top chef. One does not visit the Dubliner for an amazing sit-down meal and 5-star service; you come for light beer and shots, the live music, and the neighborhood crowd. read more

This is a very good neighborhood bar. Definite Irish feel to it. The food is decent, and the drinks are great. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends. They have a pretty great party on St. Patrick's day, take up the entire parking lot of the shopping mall they are in... pretty good time... read more

love the dubliner, nice local hangout. Last night we went to listen to open mic. The people who organize it are inconsiderate and rude. They were over 30 minutes late in starting. A friend of theirs, Dominick, singing with an accompanist on the bass. Once they were done they sat at the bar with the organizers. Dominick even borrowed a man's guitar. Done of them had to manners to sit in the area and watch the players after them. Extremely rude in my book. I will not go back to listen to the Open Mic at the Dubliner. read more

We visited the Dubliner to hear Trotter's Wake play (always a fun group and a great time!), but the food was outstanding! We had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and the Shepherd's Pie. The Corned Beef was very tender and the Shepherd's Pie had a wonderful flavor. The prices were very reasonable as well. Highly recommended! read more

Aw, I can't vote zero stars? The service is the worst I've ever had EVER. I asked for menus ... apparently not. Had to go physically get a menu from behind the bar. Asked to order and the waitress said she'd be right back. Spent the next half hour trying to get her attention - no such luck. When I finally got to order my food, it was another half hour before I got to eat it. I'm sorry, but when I go somewhere to eat, I'm HUNGRY and I'm not happy when I'm hungry.
