I will literally never come here again. I was excited to try this brunch spot because the music and ambience initially but the customer service and the process of ordering at the Duplex is not consumer friendly. I attempted to order my meal multiple times through their "online ordering service" but it would not go through - I even attempted to solicit help from my waitress. Once the order was placed, it was only met with extreme disappointment to find that they could not honor my meal because "it was received at 3pm in the kitchen"...it's extremely hard to believe that all the ingredients for the shrimp and grits and espresso martini have walked up and left.... The waitress then tells me that I have to choose from the happy hour items which are literally bar items. I was extremely hungry so I obliged with reassurance that my items will be COMPED. At the end of our meal as we were getting our bill, the manager rudely stated that my "meal" wasn't getting comped, the previous order that couldn't be made because it was after 3pm was getting comped....can y'all tell me how that makes sense? Lol why would I even get charged for a meal that you TOLD ME THAT YALL WILL NOT MAKE. They never brought out the espresso martini by the way, although I asked for it multiple times. I'm literally disappointed with this service and will not be back. Waste of my time and money! DO NOT COME HERE because the owner saw all of this happening and didn't bat an eyelash either. First time and really enjoyed it! Very nice looking restaurant. Music was good a bit loud at times but still good. Food was great I got the Tinga Hash and side French toast. Loved the complimentary shot. Ordered Mask Off & Margarita for drinks. Ordering was a little confusing in the beginning but was able to figure it out and after that it was super convenient. Didn't have to worry about splitting check. Everyone was SO attentive, I felt that the service was the best experience. Overall I'd recommend. Was here with a group for Saturday brunch. I love the concept of ordering as you go with the QR code. Drinks where really good with many different types of craft cocktails. Everyone in our group liked our food. I had a shrimp Po boy and it was really tasty. Reason I knocked off stars is its way to loud. The DJ is a great addition but for this type of space and no noise control on the walls or ceilings you can't hear across the table. Our group had to scream for anyone at our table to hear them talk. It's annoying when you can't hear people talk at your own table. Bring the volume down as this is a restaurant where people come to chat not a concert venue. read more

Food was good not great. The staff was very friendly and helpful our waitress was super chill too. Reason for my lower review is due to overall experience. I made resos here for a date night with 5 other friends. One you have to Pay per person for reservation, they then refund you once you show up, annoying but okay. The ordering process is all over the place. My husband and I wanted to order drinks before everyone else arrived but you have to order through QR code at your table and pay each time you order something. When each person arrived they had to submit a separate order, annoying again. Then we wanted to order apps so that was another separate order finally to submit our entrees we had another order but then we wanted more drinks so another order. Needless to say the next day I look at my cc statement and I have like 5-6 different transactions for one meal. It was also not clearly stated before hand that gratuity was automatically included, since I didn't notice I added the additional 20% so that was just the icing on the cake. Decidedly not vegan friendly. I asked them to make me something because 0% of the menu was vegan, and I ended up with wet tortilla chips with some sort of dust and a smattering of black beans. This place is okay - not bad but I don't know if I'd recommend it or go again. In theory the contactless ordering on your phone would be fine, but it doesn't tell you that it already adds 20% gratuity automatically to the bill but then gives you the option of tipping but you don't know it's actually on top of the 20% you already are paying. Which fine, I'm all for giving service workers more money, but just kind of strange that it's that confusing especially if you don't have the extra money (I didn't mind, but assuming not everyone would have that feeling). If you're splitting checks and your whole table is ordering on their own, everything comes out pretty staggered and one of the people at our table got their food 10-15 minutes after everyone else was done with their plate. I went here today for my sister birthday. The atmosphere was nice and fun. The drinks were good. The food was not as good as I expected. My grits taste like it had liquid smoke or something burnt in it. The burnt ends on top were good and the texture of the grits were off and my food was not hot. None of our food was hot. None of my party loved their food. Parking was horrible. It took me 30 minutes to find a park. The way they do the bill and how you order was high tech and the system glitches so the waitress still had to fix it manually. The system they use is not to good. Mine worked fine but some of the people in my party had mixed orders it's was awful. Would I go here again hummmm only if I lived in the area and could walk to it and I would only go for drinks and the fun atmosphere. read more

Server Alex was absolutely great and had outstanding customer service skills!! But the owner Lequionne was absolutely disgusting and his attitude was completely piss poor. Lequionne has poor management and leadership skills. He spoke badly about the server Alex in the presence of the guest at his table which is completely inappropriate from a leadership standpoint. There are several leadership courses offered for various businesses and it would be beneficial for Lequionne to partake in some portion of leadership training. Lequionne was very rude and dismissive to our party during our dine in experience at The Duplex. The owner really needs to reconsider the concept of everyone's order being completed under one App and the order coming repeatedly once a new person at the table orders. There needs to be a better system in regards to ordering for each individual person at the table and not the idea of orders being reordered continuously. This spot was SO good. We made a reservation on a Saturday for brunch & only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We ordered the avocado toast and fried chicken & gravy sandwich for food. Both were awesome. I had the Bonfire cocktail and honestly it was the best drink I've probably ever had- suuuper smoky and the perfect amount of spicy. I didn't realize the tip was included, so I tipped an additional 20% but I don't mind! I'm happy that places are including a set tip and I hope places continue to do so. I don't understand the complains with that- the server may not be taking your order but that's the least of what they do- they're cleaning your table, tipping out other works, etc...they deserve it- especially after a hard time for them during covid. Went here for brunch on Saturday and can honestly say our entire group has never had more fun at a meal in our lives. The energy here is ELECTRIC. There was a live DJ playing amazing music. Everyone here was kind. Every single table was having a blast. Not to mention the food was phenomenal. Each one of us loved everything we ordered. Ordering online made splitting checks easy, and modifications a breeze. And servers were still everywhere to support you. Take all of our money. This is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood. We brought the issues to the owners attention and it was met with a dismissive, accusatory response. I will never support this business again.
