Great atmosphere, we sat outside. Our server was the best, wish I could remember her name. She sat down with us and thoroughly went over the menu and answered any questions we had since we were newbies. We all ordered the fried chicken, mac and cheese, spoonbread and biscuits. The sides are large enough to share, so we all shared them. ALL of it was delicious. The fried chicken came with a spicy honey sauce that just made the chicken that much better. Also, the biscuits came with homemade blackberry jam that was soooo good. My daughter is super picky so they were very accommodating to make her a sandwich exactly to her liking. The Eagle is pretty expensive. I think its a little weird that they don't include a side with their sandwiches. You have to add any side you may want to your order. Those are my only negatives though! Their outdoor dining is very cute and a great atmosphere. And their food is extremely tasty. I've been to The Eagle restaurant in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio and had great experiences both times. Not so much with the new Louisville location. I'm from originally Louisville and brought my friends and family here to enjoy dinner. We waited 20 minutes on a Thursday night, which is kind of unheard of in Louisville. Not because it was too crowded, but because the hostess couldn't figure out the seating arrangement between the wait staff and her. After waiting 20 minutes, I watched another large party come in after me and get seated immediately. Frustrating to say the least. The server was great, but the chicken was just mediocre. There are much better options within the city for chicken and a good time! read more

We ordered the whole chicken and split it between our family of four (two little guys, but they eat as much as us!!) and it was absolutely delicious! We also got the spoonbread. I have been craving good corn bread my whole pregnancy, and man, this stuff did not disappoint!!! Let me first start by saying that I enjoy food when it's prepared and served correctly in a timely manner. My latest experience wasn't the best, but our waiter was a sweet heart. I never write reviews but this experience was deserving. There were some things that can be noted about this experience. They first ran out of clean cups and gave us plastic cups. Next we noticed that a large party at the bar, and all surrounding tables all had their food before my party. They ate, had conversation and left before we rec'd our orders. We literally waited around over an hour between the time of placing our orders until the time we rec'd literally three items of another parties food by mistake. The manager came to our table to tell us that the three orders of chicken that came to our tables weren't ours, they were given to us by mistake and to tell us she would give us all new everything. We pressed to her that was fine but to make sure everything is hot when it comes out. It went from starting your order now to food out in 5-7 minutes meaning our food has been done and just sitting there. We figured this because everything was like warm. Overall this was a very bad experience and I hate it because I was really looking forward to having a nice meal here. Not sure when and if I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

5 star!! The chicken and braised pork we're signature sandwiches. Known for it's fried chicken, but we ordered a salad as well and it was also top notch. The sides were excellent choices and diverse. Caleb was our server and I have to say it was the best service and experience I've had in a long time. You couldn't finish your drink without getting a refill, and he even offered an ice tea to go. If you're from out of town, this In the must stop place for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not KFC, real down home chicken. Came in last week and sat at the bar with Dan. Had such a great time I decided to come back. First off, let's start this by saying the Eagle is my new Favorite beer and grub pub on bardstown. Dan was working again tonight with Nick or "Tiny Rick" and Jeremiah. These guys worked so well together. Nick greeted me and made a a delicious bourbon punch, and even explain how they make it. Their punch mix is made in house everyday, and you can tell. Dan sold me on a Manhattan, which I normally don't like, but Nick made a hella good cocktail... And I now love Manhattans. Maybe I just never had a good one. Jermiah took our order and helped us pick out our meals. His knowledge of the food was superb, and recommend the potatos. I was weary, but for no good reason at all. The food was amazing as always, and Nick even went back to the kitchen to find and bring out our food since it was so busy. We've only been here twice, but you'll see us every week. All 3 bartenders were amazing, knowlegable, and continue to keep us coming back. read more

First let me start by saving our server (I can't remember her name forgive me) was fantastic! I was in Louisville on business (from NY) and went to dinner (6/24/19 6pm) with coworkers. Long story short, I explained to the server that I have food allergies. She was great about it, asked questions, wrote down all my allergies. When the food came, she noted that the cook had put croutons on my salad, to which I am allergic. She brought it right back to the kitchen and had them prepare me a new salad. About 10 minutes later I received the new salad without croutons, or so I thought. I was 2 bites into my salad and there was a crouton in the bottom of the salad. The server then came back, was mortified (not her fault at all) and took the salad away. Asked if she could get me anything else, I didn't want anything at that point. She then came back, explained that she spoke with the manager and removed it from the bill. My issue is, the server, who was great, was so embarrassed and apologetic. The manager never came over to apologize, see if I was ok, no communication. She let the server handle everything. Very poor manager if you ask me. As the manager you take the hit and ensure customer satisfaction. When I got back to my hotel the hives on my arms had already started and the itching was intense. This is a huge issue for someone and The Eagle needs to learn from this experience. read more
