I have been to The Eagle Oxmoor on two occasions. On a Tuesday night with two friends, no reservations were required. I was seated immediately! On a Saturday night with one other, we were placed on the waitlist, and we had to wait a bit over an hour for a table. The service has been good both times, but I especially loved Chris! Their service was phenomenal, and I appreciated their overall demeanor. On one occasion, the manager gave my friends and I free biscuits. It was a kind gesture that was provided despite no problems! As for the food, it is phenomenal! It's true Southern cooking, and the Burnt Ends Pork Mac & Cheese is something I now crave on a consistent basis. I also enjoyed the biscuits and fries. I think the pricing is decent for the portions you receive. The overall ambiance of this restaurant is enjoyable! I haven't found it too loud, and it's a more intimate space. read more

What a great lunch today! Food came out quicker than I expected (always a plus!). Chicken was as good as it looked - crispy and juicy on the inside. The only thing that would have made this a 5 start review was my drink. I ordered the Prosecco punch but unfortunately it tasted too sour for my liking and the taste overall was off ($12). I tried to get it replaced or switched to something else but our waiter didn't come back after it started getting busier. Nice casual place to have a bite. I was here yesterday with friends. I only had sides but they were good. I had the macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, and the collard greens. We were easily able to book a reservation while next door at Putt Shack. We arrived & were promptly seated & brought menus. Waitress brought our drinks in a timely manner. We decided to order a whole chicken and sides of fries, mac n cheese, & biscuits with butter and jam to share amongst three of us. Food arrived really quickly and hot, always a plus. I wasn't a fan of the fried chicken seasoning and it was more greasy than crisp. My husband likes all fried chicken but wasn't a big fan either. The sides were ok but nothing craveworthy. It's ashame they have horseradish in the mashed potatoes or we might've ordered those. The place has a hip vibe, good service. The food flavors is where it was lacking for us. In summary. I will not patronize the Eagle again. The chicken wasn't any better than KFC original, warm and soft crust. It came to our table very quickly so I know it wasn't fresh. But the main thing was their shifty billing. We ordered and a food runner came to our table with hushpuppies, we didn't order so we turned him away. The server came back with them and told us it was complimentary "make a memory". Okay, cool thanks. We ate our over priced lunch and got our to go boxes. The server came back with this electronic device told us the price without showing the itemized receipt. Hesitantly, I paid and tip. Had the recipe sent to my phone. As we were walking through Oxmoor, I pulled up the receipt and low and behold I was charged for the hushpuppies we didn't order. I'm short they are a rip-off and I am done with them. read more

I've eaten at the Eagle on Bardstown Road and it's always been good. I had no idea this location was open or even there. Behind the mall close to top golf is this new evolved area with several restaurants. Neat area the place is open clean and new. Bar tender was very friendly and prompt. My only negative was the 1/2 chicken I had was sitting for a while before it came out to me. Probably should have sent it back but I was in a bit of a hurry. Previous experience with Eagle is hot and crispy this was tepid and soft. read more

The food is top notch! The atmosphere as well. And somehow they seem to hire the most positive, friendly, and competent servers. I have never had a bad experience at Eagle. I had such a wonderful time with my 2 co-workers. For me, it is the difference between a 4-star and 5, when the service is top notch and you're so happy to be there enjoying a meal together. We dialed the restaurant to ask about seating (yes, they have table and booth space, plus seats around the bar). They told me reservations are taken but Monday is also a lighter night. We walked in around 6:45p and had no problem snagging a booth. We tried to many things! Pickled green beans, salads, chicken, and a plethora of sides! The 3 of us shared every side so there's plenty if you decide to do this as well. Service was stellar, from our server to the manager. We had plenty of check ins and lots of discussion. I've had the Eagle before and this experience did not disappoint. Food was good and hot. I tried their chicken dip appetizer, and it was a little spicy, but still good. The only thing I would like to see some improvement on is service. Our waitress was obviously new, which is nothing against her, but our drinks went empty many times. A lot of people had the peach jalapeño margarita so it must be good but I decided to just get a glass of sauvignon blanc ($8). We had drumsticks, Mac and cheese, fries, and the hush puppy appetizer. The chicken is actually not fried but is more of a broasted chicken. The breading is very light and amazingly seasoned. I can't say that it was truly the "best fried chicken" I have ever had, but I don't remember having a better one. Accessibility- parking is in a shared lot and is a little ways from the building but nothing dramatic. Chairs are a little tight but it shouldn't be an issue for mobility. Decided to try this place after a planned trip to spaghetti factory was interrupted due to closure. It was destiny at play. The service is wonderful. Then we started trying the food. WOW.... decided to try a few things out. The buffalo dip was tasty and filled with chicken, several cheeses, and a creamy buffalo sauce. The burnt ends were mouth watering and saucy. The chicken drum sticks were filled with flavor with the herbs and spices brined into them. The spoon corn bread is a sweet corn bread full of maple and corn. The hot honey I put it on everything. When I said that I was a vegetarian, they automatically listed off vegetarian options and even doubled checked if an item was vegetarian when they weren't sure. This place is so good! It filled up pretty quickly, but we were able to sit at the bar and watch the games. I've had a lot of BLTs in Louisville and this might be the best one yet. Filled with so many flavors, and the fries were seasoned and served with a delicious aioli. I wasn't a huge fan of fan of the grilled chicken sandwich, but it was my husband's favorite item, so I'm sure it depends on your preference. I normally I'd rate lower for such high prices (sandwich served alone and you pay for sides separately), but I would have been filled from just the BLT. We had a great dinner at the new location for my husbands birthday. I made a reservation for Sunday evening. 8 people and a toddler. All the employees were accommodating and our waitress was so nice and patient. It wasn't crowded but a little smaller than the location on Bardstown rd. They have a nice bar lined with TVs so we were able to watch the NFL games. The drumsticks were a hit at the table and we ordered almost every side. I'm a fan of their grilled cheese with apples. Everything we ordered was delicious. The cornbread (spoonbread) has actual corn in it. Great fries that come with garlic aioli. The grits have a nice kick. We all loved the Mac and cheese, including our 1 year old. Decent drink selection. The boys had 1792 and I ordered the blackberry lemonade which was vodka based. My husband even got a complimentary treat after dinner. They did get rid of the candied bacon, which we were sad about but oh well.
