Let Jess Tell It East Market | Franklin Park, Columbus Price per person: $15-30 Wait time for a table: No table service -- grab a seat wherever you can Noise level: Moderate to loud (it's a food hall, so expect a buzz) Seating options: Communal tables, bar seating, high-tops, outdoor patio Vegetarian options: Yes -- several stalls offer veggie choices Dietary restrictions: Vendor-dependent; some gluten-free options available Parking: Free lot + street parking (fills quickly on weekends or event days) Kid-friendly: Yes, but keep an eye on them -- very open and active Wheelchair accessible: Yes, wide walkways & accessible seating East Market stays booked and busy in the best way -- a true Columbus-style food hall where you can wander, browse, and let your appetite pick the direction. Even though I grabbed my actual meal next door at Local Cantina Trolley Barn, I still walked through to get the vibe, take in the energy, and check out who's serving what. Vendors you'll spot inside: * Creole 2 Geaux -- Cajun/Creole comfort dishes * Just Chicken -- crispy chicken sandwiches & tenders * Koso -- ramen, noodles, and rice bowls * The Pitt BBQ -- smoked meats and sides * Hisham's Bakery -- Middle Eastern pastries * Reverie -- cocktails & spirits * The Plant Gays, Poke Bowl, and dessert spots like The Cheesecake Girl (Perfect for groups that can't agree on anything.) Good-to-know for first-timers: * There's no single line -- each vendor has its own counter. * You'll order your food, grab your tray, and then find a seat anywhere in the building. * The bar inside stays active, especially evenings and weekends. * On busy nights, seats turn over fast but not instantly -- be ready to do a little "table scouting." * The building itself is renovated with a historic trolley barn feel -- lots of natural light and exposed brick. * Great place to bring out-of-towners: you can sample multiple Columbus spots without driving all over the city. Even without eating inside this time, it reminded me why East Market works: It solves the "What are we eating?" standoff better than almost anywhere else in the city. Save this if you want a go-to Columbus spot with options, drinks, and an easy setup for groups. Question for the community: What vendor are you loyal to in here? I'll try them on my next actual eating visit.

There are so many amazing options! So many cuisines, savory and sweet, whatever you are in the mood for you seem to have it! I Ate at Momocha Hibachi and had a wonderfully delicious meal then after I went to Holy Creps and we tried a variety of their most popular! So so good!! I really love coming here, such a great cluster of amazing gourmet foods! I highly recommend check g this place out!

Still good. Some slight changes in vendors. A nice variety, good stuff and friendly service everywhere. I have almost been in several wrecks in the parking lot, so be very careful there. Even during the day on a weekday, it can be completely packed. And the signage is ambiguous. There are arrows on the pavement for which way to go, but people don't seem to notice them, and there are signs even at the "in" lane that seem to imply that you can go out. There is street parking nearby, And really you just need to be careful driving in the whole neighborhood.

We love this place. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from. All of the food stall staff are friendly. We have had excellent food at Fran's Meat Plus Three, Pasta House, Tase of Greek and Moroccan Street Food, and Winston's Waffles. The building is an old Trolley station with tracks int he floor. It is very unique with a great sense of history. We highly recommend stopping in.

The East Market is located in the Near-East Side of Columbus, Ohio on the corner of Oak St & Kelton Avenue. It is in the Franklin Park Neighborhood and it's a quick walk to the park which is nice to do to add to the experience if you have time to walk over and enjoy. The vendors have changed here of the past couple of years but I still love hoping in and taking a look around. My two favorites businesses inside the East Market are The Plant Gays and Railhouse. I also enjoy the Local Cantina and Columbus Brewing Company which is also in the Trolley Barn district. All next door to each other and share parking. Street parking is available as well as parking in the East Market lot. For a list of current East Market business check out their website at eastmarketcolumbus.com.

Everything about this place was amazing. The parking lot had plenty of gracious spaces, the food choices were vast and accommodating to any diet. The bar and distillery were both clean, dark and cozy. We sampled food, dessert and drinks and enjoyed everything they had to offer. Definitely a must do if you're in the area for 48 hours.

Small little market here. Small variety of food options, a few empty spots inside. Came here for Kimbap at Koso and of course they were all sold out and don't make fresh ones for dinner at all. :( Waited too long to grab peanut cookies after dinner at the Bearded Cookies and they are sold out, what bad luck tonight.

I kept hearing "rumors" about this new market on the east side, and since I'm a HUGE neighborhood market fan, I knew I had to squeeze in a trip over there during one of my visits over there to Columbus. What a great surprise, quite literally a HIDDEN gem, and I'm already planning a return visit!! I was there toward the end of the evening, so not too much was available, but what I did see was GREAT!! African cuisine, Mexican, Middle Eastern fare, Italian, Japanese/Asian fusion.... TONS of choices!! There's also a bar that was HOPPING!! Looks like a couple of places mentioned in earlier reviews are already gone, hopefully there will be some equally tempting replacements. I had (sadly) already eaten before I came here, but luckily saved room for a MASSIVE salted caramel cookie from the bakery (sorry, can't remember the name...) Parking is easy, hours are convenient, and the market is clean/fresh and new feeling, but with a great historic vibe as well. I'll be back, and this time, will be sure to arrive HUNGRY!!! :-)

Super cool spot. I've been hearing about it for a while now and I'm glad I finally paid them a visit. They are located near Franklin Park in what looks to be a renovated old building. There's easy parking with a lot right outside and a patio too. Inside you'll find a variety of businesses, everything from a plant store, to a coffee shop, and a plethora of food options (Yellow Brick pizza, Butcher and Grocer's sandwich shop, Winston's Coffee and Waffles, etc.) There's a bar and even a speakeasy too. Seriously, they've got it all. Glad to see a spot like this open up in this neighborhood and I'm looking forward to visiting more often. I'd highly recommend stopping by!

A nice food hall by the Franklin Park Conservatory! Easy parking around here. You can do parallel or use their parking lot. It's free. It's not a very busy place. Most people were hanging inside Railhouse to chat and get drinks. You can order at any of the vendors and eat your food in here. There are a good number of food places to choose from and a small grocery area. I tried Buck city , while my friends all got food from a Butchery vendor. One of my friends got her food brought out to her, but the rest of us had to go back and pick it up. It would be nice if all the vendors could text when the food is ready. They've got a sushi place, sandwiches, Mediterranean, a fried chicken spot, and a few other vendors. It's not as large as North Market but it's a nice size. Railhouse was cool. They'll come to your table to ask if you want drinks. They also have TVs and they play a good selection of music. Nice staff ! The building looks nice. Love that it's historical.

This is a really, really great space. The concept is similar to North Market, with a variety of market stalls around the first floor, plus an upstairs seating section. The architecture of the building is stunning - we loved the "attic" style look to the seating area, which helps to break up the space, while skylights let in more natural light, and a variety of TVs were spread around in case you wanted to be near one of those. Restrooms are available on the first floor near the Railhouse, and there is a private parking lot available for the market itself, making parking a breeze. The exterior also looks like it's going to be amazing when it's warmer out; there is additional seating a nice patio/event-type space formed between East Market and the adjoining brewery. Market stall wise, they did a great job with variety of food options: American Nut Company with a variety of tasty snacks, Creole2Geaux's Southern food, Koso Korean Street Food, Yellowbrick Pizza, Taste of Greece & Moroccan Street Food, burgers at The Butcher & Grocer, Winston's Coffee & Waffles, Too Good Eats with juices, Just Chicken, and they offer a pop-up space that was doing sandwiches at the time of our visit. There is one non-food space currently, and that is The Plant Gays, who offer a great variety of houseplants and accessories (including little hats for plants! So cute!), cards, and more. Our interests vastly outweighed stomach and arm space, so we will be back to check out more of the East Market!

Was very excited when the East Market opened and have visited numerous times. We frequent Local Cantina and Columbus Brewing often, and recently went to The Plant Gays and will certainly be back! The reason for 3 stars is the lack of consistency the market provides. Every time I have been, numerous stalls are closed. It could be a Tuesday during lunch and three of them aren't open even though their business hours say otherwise. The stalls that are open- absolutely wonderful as always. We also wanted to take the dog recently and looked everywhere for information on whether or not it was pet friendly. We'd seen dogs inside before and after searching the market website, Facebook, and Instagram, we found nothing. Online, experiencecolumbus.com stated it is dog friendly, so we took him only to be promptly greeted by a "No Dogs Inside" sign. It was frustrating as we searched everywhere and even called and couldn't find an answer from the business, and the only answer provided was misleading.

They had a Bloody Mary event where 10 different vendors provided a skewer with their food on it to put in the Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary mix looked to be homemade and it was so good! It was neat to be able to try a little bit of something from each place in the market. It even came with a baby succulent from the Plant gays!

I love food trucks but it can be a hassle tracking them down sometimes. Having a central location is a great way to try out different ones without traipsing all over Columbus. I went on the 2nd day and they were still working out some minor kinks but I thought the execution was close to perfect. Ordering is easy, paying inside is easy (they accept credit card, yay! but prefer cash), and getting your food is easy. You can also take your food to go. I love the look of this place as well. Very minimalist and well-designed. Not surprising since the husband & wife team that own it are architects. I had the chance to chat with the wife (didn't catch her name) for a few minutes and she was so sweet! Nothing better than supporting local businesses run by awesome people. Other things I loved: delicious, free cookies in celebration of the first week and all the items they sold at the register. I think I saw chocolate dipped oranges, pattycake cookies, macarons, and thunder kiss coffee. Snacks for the drive home!
