Classic Eggs Benedict, Seasonal Fruit Bowl
    Alex J.

I'm visiting from AZ and was recommended this spot for breakfast. I thought about branching out with something different on the menu but I think a breakfast/brunch spot is only as good as their Eggs Benedict--and I can say these were probably the best I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was rich, buttery, and slightly tangy with perfectly poached eggs with those bright yellow runny yolks, smokey Canadian bacon, and nicely toasted English muffins. The breakfast potatoes were extra crispy, and with local ketchup, a perfect accompaniment. The staff was very friendly, and I opted to sit outside so I got some good traffic watching and chitchat with a local. Keeping this spot on my "return to" list to try the other likely-excellent dishes they offer.

First time trying the Eastburn and I think I went during the best time of the day. It wasn't busy at all and sitting on the covered patio with the fire table was so cozy. Went with some girlfriends for brunch and our server was very helpful in helping us decide (because yes we needed help narrowing down our wants). The food was wonderful, breakfast potato's were slightly on the burnt side but I do prefer them that way but I know a lot of people don't so I'm not sure if they are always like that. Anyways, it was the perfect portions too. Left full but not over stuffed. Will be back!

Well that was a fun start to the day! The apple cinnamon bread pudding French toast was amazing! Not overly sweet with the apples still having a little body to them and not just mush. We went in on a Tuesday and the place was pretty empty. The server was on top of it and made for a great experience. The Bloody Mary was perfect. Just enough heat to be felt but not enough to make you stop drinking. Parking is parking in Portland so don't be surprised if you have to walk a bit to and from the car.

Amazing patio with swings for chairs and adorable water fountain made of old beer taps. Food was great and they had really fun brunch cocktail flight options. My server was really nice and attentive, always checking in but not too much, keeping an eye from afar so not to over step and gave a great food recommendation. Ask for Mars, great server! Made my day.

Stopped in here for breakfast on our way out of town. Was super pleased to find an open breakfast spot and the yelp pics drew us in. Ample street parking on a Monday morning. I liked the variety on the menu and had a hard time deciding. Pros - fun atmosphere and great breakfast options! I tend to be a heavy veggie/less meat person and the options were ample. - their seasoned potatoes were flavorful! - service was quick and accommodating! Their system was down so all transactions were done by hand. We were notified immediately before we sat down, which was courteous. - the green chorizo scramble was tasty, I liked the cilantro sour cream drizzle and probably needed more of that. Cons -Beer bread toast looked like it was going to be tasty but it was dried out and bland. So disappointing. Maybe it needed to be served warm? -I was super excited for the farro bowl. Loved the poached egg and adding avocado was key. The bowl was missing something - maybe a biscuit would have been nice to complement the flavors? The dish was more saucy than I expected. I bet this is a fun place for drinks and I'm open to trying something different next time.

Great food, service & ambiance. Next time, I'll try the swings! Great location and quick service. Will be back!

Unassuming pub-like spot with whimsical swinging chairs and a solid brunch. The Crawfish Cake Eggs Benedict ($17) was superb - perfectly poached eggs and crispy cakes. The hollandaise was light and flawless. The biscuits and beer bread were also all delightfully delicious. Polite staff :)

Food was decent for mid-week but the location is convenient. Throw back Portland atmosphere. Service was good overall.

Waitress was amazing and attentive. We enjoyed the covered porch seating while listening to the rain. The special elk lasagna was so tasty.

We were warmly greeted and sat at our table - definitely recommend reservations. The bottles behind the bar and along the wall were beautifully displayed and made for such a cool ambiance. We had a nice spot in the back corner and could check out the whole place. Aaron was our server and she was great, had good recommendations and made sure we were taken care of. Not sure which was better, the way the dishes tasted or the way they looked... either way they were incredible. We tried the beets, the heirloom tomatoes, the whipped ricotta, the tartare and of course the panna cotta. Everything was so elegant and had such unique flavors and textures. I could have that meal multiple times and never get sick of it. Not surprised at all that they are a James Beard Award winner - highly recommend!!

Scotch Lodge recently won Outstanding Bar at 2026 James Beard Awards and it absolutely deserves it…read more The cocktails here are seriously some of the best that I've had in the States. In addition to creative, well-prepared cocktails, the food here is equally spectacular. My wife and I shared their Wagyu tartar and a soft shell crab sando. You'll see these two dishes at virtually every single table if you look around the restaurant during your visit and there's good reason for it: these two dishes are perfectly executed. Every piece of the tartare is evenly cut the be the same size, and there wasn't a single piece that was stringy or chewy. The dish itself was well-seasoned, and the freshly fried kettle chips provided the crunchy texture the dish needed. The soft shell crab sando is served between two toasted slices of rich, decadent, buttered milk bread. The crab has a wonderfully crispy outer shell and atop of the crab is a mountain of crunchy, tangy slaw. They must have done a bunch of R&D and experimentation playing with the ratio of the ingredients because every bite was balanced. If there's one dish you have to order during your visit, make it the crab sando. The two cocktails I tried out were the "loch stock" -- mezcal, smoky scotch, ancho reyes, lapsang souchong sweet vermouth, and mole bitters, and the "up country road" -- bourbon, coconut-inflused sweet vermouth, macadamia nut campari. I cannot articulate how incredible these two drinks tasted. The flavor profile of the drinks are punchy and exactly as described. I am certain there's something on the menu for everyone's palette. I would highly advise you to stay hydrated throughout your visit so you're able to make it to two, or even three round of drinks. The drinks are that good. I cannot recommend Scotch Lodge enough if you're visiting Portland. Definitely make a reservation and be sure to try out the food as well.

The room alone almost made it worth my time. The English pea risotto was very good, and the house fries were good. The French-oaked flight I requested was a sad effort. The bartender never asked what distillers I had as options other than indicating that Makers 46 must be what I'm after when I said French oaked and creamy was my vibe, to which I raised an eyebrow and indicated I was ok if he started with that in my flight as a base for comparison. Otherwise he never asked whether I'd like to spend good money on something special (I would have said yes) and later claimed these were the only French-oaked bottles they even had in stock despite a claimed inventory of over 2,000 whiskeys. What arrived: Penelope Architect--nothing at all on the nose, something like wood paneling on the palate. Angel's Envy Triple Oak--tasted just like the Angel's Envy Rum Cask I can get at the supermarket. Maker's 46--the best of those three, yet still quintessentially basic as a wheated French-staved bargain buy, which, by the way, I never indicated I was there for. When I diplomatically indicated my that my flight was totally blasé and asked for one last pour in hopes of redeeming the experience, he brought me a redundant Maker's Heart Series in which the heart was made of mildly chocolate-inspired disappointment. Staff clearly put effort into educating and serving, and the environment is special enough that I hope to return with friends for that alone, even though I was rushed out due to a scheduled reservation needing my unscheduled seat. Ultimately the pours left me with an extremely unimpressive result and a future 0-for-2 that I'd be willing to risk in hopes of their redemption. Exceptionally impressive venue, if totally unimpressive flight curation.
