We're testing this restaurant, for future church group luncheon, 2027, it was recommended by a co-worker. We didn't have problem finding a parking. We were seated right away, wherever we wanted. I picked a shady indoor spot booth. I'm not sure, if it's the right booth, I then realized, they have the swings, by the window facing Burnside. I wanted to move, but hubby won't! No matter how much I begged, he ain't movin'. Then, I said: 'the music here is too loud.' His answer? 'There's always something!' So I stayed. I checked out the Patio. It might work, for the group. At least, there's one of us, who love alcohol. That may give them a reason to come. (She's driving the rest of the group). Since we are heading to an event, not far from here, we didn't have much time to take leftovers home, we didn't have a cooler, it's almost 80 degrees out, so we decided to eat something we could share. We picked the BBQ COHO Salmon Sandwich. Seared Coho salmon glazed with Bourbon BBQ sauce topped with baby Aragula and pickled red onions on a Portland French toasted potato bun. There's a $2 discount recess during happy hour (3-5pm). We were there at that time. (Is that the reason WHY the music were soo loud?) It was served with hand-cut fries. Both were just the perfect taste (delicious), and size for both of us. But, for some reason, I was still tempted to have something else. We looked at the desert menu, and decided on the Peach Crumble. Food taste so much better, when shared! Enough said. (We waited so long for this one, that we almost didn't made it to our event! We were enjoying our time here, that by the time we got to our car, we were rushing, and made it two minutes later we would have been late!) Negative: Music is too loud! Restroom could be improved. We had a great brunch here and really enjoyed the experience. The outdoor patio had a relaxed, comfortable feel. It was a great place to slow down, enjoy good food, and spend time together. The smoked brisket hash was the standout. It came with tender brisket, eggs, breakfast potatoes, peppers, onions, and vegetables. The flavors worked really well together. It was hearty, flavorful, and had something different in almost every bite. We also tried the burger and fries. They were simple, solid, and satisfying. The fries had a nice crisp, and the burger was a good choice for a classic brunch or lunch option. I also really appreciated the non-alcoholic drink selection. A lot of places treat zero-proof drinks like an afterthought, but here they actually had fun options. The Phony Espresso Negroni was a great non-alcoholic cocktail and made the meal feel special without needing alcohol. I'm visiting from AZ and was recommended this spot for breakfast. I thought about branching out with something different on the menu but I think a breakfast/brunch spot is only as good as their Eggs Benedict--and I can say these were probably the best I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was rich, buttery, and slightly tangy with perfectly poached eggs with those bright yellow runny yolks, smokey Canadian bacon, and nicely toasted English muffins. The breakfast potatoes were extra crispy, and with local ketchup, a perfect accompaniment. The staff was very friendly, and I opted to sit outside so I got some good traffic watching and chitchat with a local. Well that was a fun start to the day! The apple cinnamon bread pudding French toast was amazing! Not overly sweet with the apples still having a little body to them and not just mush. We went in on a Tuesday and the place was pretty empty. The server was on top of it and made for a great experience. The Bloody Mary was perfect. The only thing redeeming about Eastburn is the ambience . It's a very cute rustic vibe and I was with a group of six so we were sat at a table that had a fire pit in the middle. Some tables also have swings which is really cute. Unforch the food was really poor quality and very under seasoned. The pork and beef hash tasted like as if the meat was just reheated, no sauce, and burnt potatoes underneath. The middle of the French toast was so soggy. And the "charcuterie board" had baloney lunchmeat, 3 pickled green beans (omg?) one singular beet, and two strawberries, cut into like seven pieces lol. For $18-$23+ a plate this place has very underwhelming food / really poor quality ingredients. The only person in our group who enjoyed their meal got the salmon eggs Benedict. I feel like I remember having a burger here one night and it being decent but that wasn't during brunch service so idk. This was our first time visiting, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing from start to finish. After we wrote our name down for our party, the hostess walked right past us without acknowledging us. That set the tone for the rest of the visit. Additionally, the bartender--a heavy-set woman wearing glasses--came across as quite rude and did not seem interested in providing good service. This was especially surprising considering the restaurant was not busy at the time. To make matters worse, my chicken Caesar salad was very poor quality. The salad was lukewarm and the croutons were stale. After only three bites, I decided I couldn't continue eating it. When I brought this up, there was no attempt to resolve the issue or even offer an apology. The response felt very dismissive. In the end, we even had to walk up to the bar ourselves just to get our bill. Overall, the service and food quality made this a very frustrating first experience. Never going back read more

The Eastburn was a fun find. I was looking for a brunch spot to enjoy before my brother's flight for a group of 5. The menu all looked delicious and all of us enjoyed our choices. We started with the Bourbon Candied Bacon. Our waitress was amazing, super friendly, and engaging. The restaurant has fun seating for two that have Chorley chairs. It was easy to grab a table and the tables weren't jammed together. Best thing is they take reservations which is near impossible for Portland brunch. Stopped in here for breakfast on our way out of town. Was super pleased to find an open breakfast spot and the yelp pics drew us in. Ample street parking on a Monday morning. I liked the variety on the menu and had a hard time deciding. Pros - fun atmosphere and great breakfast options! I tend to be a heavy veggie/less meat person and the options were ample. - their seasoned potatoes were flavorful! - service was quick and accommodating! Their system was down so all transactions were done by hand. We were notified immediately before we sat down, which was courteous. - the green chorizo scramble was tasty, I liked the cilantro sour cream drizzle and probably needed more of that. Cons -Beer bread toast looked like it was going to be tasty but it was dried out and bland. So disappointing. Maybe it needed to be served warm? -I was super excited for the farro bowl. Loved the poached egg and adding avocado was key. The bowl was missing something - maybe a biscuit would have been nice to complement the flavors? The dish was more saucy than I expected. Both were cooked medium-well and was tough as heck with so much fat that after trimming off the fat, we got maybe 1/2 the size of actual steak. It took some time to chew each piece. We never send food back, because you never know. They actually forgot my food. They served 5 of 6 plates of food at the same time. I didn't say anything, thinking the waitress will bring mine shortly, since she just brought 5 things out. Nope! Everyone was 1/2 way through their meals, until our birthday guy asked the server. She said they overcooked my meal and are remaking it, which is a lie because she never once acknowledged it prior nor did she check on us after dropping off the food. By the time mine came out, everyone else was done. It was so overcooked but I ate it anyways because I was so hungry and sending it back for a remake would mean another wait. It was a disappointing birthday meal experience for him. The beans that came with the steak wasn't even cooked. It was maybe tossed in a pan with oil for a second, if that. Food was excellent (we ordered a polenta bowl, salmon cake's Benedict and a Classic Benedict) and everyone was very happy with their choices. Service was laid-back and very friendly. The ambiance was pretty cool too, as we were seated on the covered patio on swings--which had us all swaying around. I honestly don't understand some of the low reviews for this place. A lot of them seem pretty egocentric and entitled, like people didn't actually take the full experience into account. My fiancé and I had a fantastic dinner at Eastburn and it absolutely deserves more credit than it gets. My fiancé ordered the New York steak and I ordered the Beef Wellington. The potato cakes were incredibly flavorful and the broccolini was grilled to perfection. The steak was cooked exactly as requested--medium rare--and it came out perfect. The Beef Wellington was one of the best I've had. It was packed with flavor, the portion size was great, and it was cooked perfectly. The mushroom sauce that came with it was honestly amazing--nothing I've had before paired so well with a Wellington. It elevated the whole dish and made the meal even better. The service was also wonderful. Our server was sweet, very attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the whole meal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The only small note was that my fiancé felt the New York steak seasoning was a little too herby for her personal taste, but that's completely subjective--everyone's palate is different. Overall, this place is underrated and easily deserves a 5-star rating. The vibes are immaculate and the theming throughout the restaurant creates a really great atmosphere. If you're looking for a tasteful place to eat that feels elegant but is still reasonably priced, this is definitely the spot. 5/5 read more

I really enjoyed the salmon Benedict, cooked really nicely. The brisket hash was really salty, I tried my husband's plate twice. First time I thought it might just be my bite. Later I tried a second bite and I couldn't even swallow it, very salty to the point where I got that sharp feeling on my tongue. The potatoes were decent but the Benedict could have done without them, very crisp borderline burnt. The fruit and scrambled eggs were good for my son. Came here a few years ago and I remember the drinks were awesome so I gave this place a go again and some things were great some things were amiss. I have certain food restrictions due to my religion, and are not able to have a lot of breakfast favorites because they often have pork. I was so happy to see eggs Benedict with veggie sausage and biscuits and gravey with non-pork options (elk and mushroom). The drinks too! Veg bloody maries! The Rosemary Paloma was great too. My server Mars was awesome and is great at what they do. When I mentioned it was my birthday, they said they'd cover my drink for me! Definitely overpriced at $18, and the potato side was a total failure. Others in our party had French fries w their sandwiches, and all were cold. Beef brisket sandwich was just ok. The service was very slow. We waited about 20 minutes for water, and another 20 minutes for cocktails. The whole staff was fantastic to work with and went above and beyond to tailor the experience to our group, from decorations to custom themed cocktails. We rented the entire main floor and loved having the patio as a side space for people to hang out in.
