We originally ordered for pick, but ended up staying there since they had ample seating and correct distancing between tables. The staff was nice and accommodating. My husband had the BLT. It had tons of tomatoes on it and it could have used a strip or two more bacon. In general it was a good sandwich. He had a supernova key lime beer, he enjoyed it. I had the turkey and bacon panini. My sandwich was great. I loved the bread! It had the right amount of Brie on it where it didn't steal the show. This was the first time we went to Edison grill. Walking in, the art, theme, and deco was pretty amazing! I forgot our waitresses name, but she was on top of everything, super friendly, and always check on us before we even needed to ask for anything. The food is highly amazing! We went for Dinner on a saturday night right around 5pm. By 530 there was a wait. So its best to make a reservation or get their early. Pretty good burgers. And our waitress was very nice and attentive. They also had some unique menu offerings. The drink we had was also very good. The only issue is that every time the door opened it was freezing. They need to put two doors in here as opposed to the first door and a cloth partition. Overall it was a good spot. Would definitely come back. I've only tried this place for lunch but took my fiancé here for a breakfast that he really enjoyed. I've also heard great things from others about breakfast! As far as the lunch: it was good. Nothing to blow my mind but I ordered a simple club sandwich (turkey and bacon on toast). It was large & tasty. I ordered a side of fruit and it was fresh and delicious (but it had only one piece of pineapple compared to the endless amounts of watermelon & melon-I hate that!) Also, it was a chilly January day and that could be felt in the restaurant!! I was hit with a draft of cold air every time someone walked in which was often. Yikes! I was shivering half the time. I mean that's nothing against the food of course but it's certainly uncomfortable. Next time I will make sure to get a seat in the back. The waitstaff was friendly but slow. I've been excited to try the Edison Grill for months now, and today I finally got the chance to do so! I wasn't disappointed, and apparently a lot of people feel that way - there are about six or seven tables and a dining counter, and by the time we left they were mostly full. The decor is understated, pictures of Thomas Edison and the light bulb, with a flat screen behind the counter tuned to Food Network. The portions are huge! On of my dining companions ordered half a quesadilla, and it took up most of the plate. I had a grilled chicken panini with spinach and an artichoke spread, and luckily I had missed breakfast so I was able to finish it all. The chips are homemade, and have a great crisp without being overburdened with salt. The waitress was very on top of everything, providing constant refills of water. They're a Pepsi establishment, but a Coke fan like myself can't hold that against them too much. The only thing that disappointed me was they don't serve breakfast all day. I'll have to make an effort to get moving one morning to try it out! I did wonder during the meal, "Why Thomas Edison?" Sure, he was a notable figure, but why a restaurant in Harwinton, CT? I've had rims on my cars that were smaller than the pancakes that arrived on our table! My omelette was obviously made with pterodactyl eggs. The hash that was wrapped within the aforementioned pterodactyl eggs was very fresh & oh so tasty. The eggs Benedict were seemingly injected with a super growth serum, because I've never seen this item in a portion of this size. Everything was similarly sized and impossible to take down in one sitting. Breakfast served double duty as lunch & was just as good when I finished mine 3 hours after it was served as it was when I got it. 4 stars. Price: 4 people ate for just over $50.00 No one had any kind of chance of finishing their plate. It just isn't humanly possible. Well worth the money! 5 stars. I was going to take a star back for it being really cold every time the door opened, but the staff is well aware of this fact & offered to move our party to a booth towards the rear of the restaurant BEFORE we got a chance to complain! First time and really enjoyed myself. Went with a friend of mine and I ordered the chopped salad with grilled chicken. It was so fresh and I ate every last bite. My friend got steak tips and she ordered a side of the cauliflower risotto and she said everything was excellent. I imagine it was seeing she ate every last piece like myself. Loved the interior decor...very eclectic and I love the Edison theme. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio which I'm hoping to sit at the next time I stop by. Our waitress was lovely and super friendly however she never checked back on us during our hour & a half visit. My friend just needed water and we didn't even see our waitress until my friend had finished her meal and I was finishing mine. She should have checked to see if we needed anything else when the servers brought the food out. And at least during our meal as well. That's the only reason for the 4 star and I still gave her a darn good tip. It was my first visit as I had said and they had just opened for the day and it was bustling so no grudges held here. Tried to make reservations for breakfast tomorrow for my wife's birthday. She called this morning to make sure they would make reservations and they said yes they do reservations for groups bigger than 6. We finally got a headcount and we have 8. We called them just now and Edison Grill gave my wife some attitude while saying we couldn't make reservations. I've heard good things about this place so I decided to check it out. I had the Portabella Benedict the first time that I went there. Not impressed. The food was cold and bland. I decided to give the place a second try. I was craving pancakes and tried the chocolate chip pancake. The pancake was huge but dense. It wasn't fluffy like I was hoping it would be. Concerned that the bloody flight would be too filling the waitress suggested we split it, what an excellent suggestion! It was the perfect amount and so fun! We both got the vegetarian eggs Benedict, it was a ton of food, we probably could have split that as well but we powered through it because everything was so good. This place always has the best specials. One time they had s'mores fresh toast which was amazing. I just went this morning and I got their pumpkin waffle special with glazed pecans, whipped cream, and syrup. That was definitely something I couldn't pass up! The only thing I don't really like at this place is that you have to wait until after 11 to get anything with alcohol. The food was great! Our guests loved the meat balls. I saw second plates go by heaped full of pasta by people wearing giant smiles for the flavor of the food. My boyfriend moved to Torrington a year and a half ago and lives in the downtown area. We were always stuck choosing from the same several restaurants we went to. Last night, January 16th, 2021, his mom was over to visit and my boyfriend and I were going to treat her out to dinner and had our eyes set on a place in Torrington. However, she suggested the Edison Grill and said her coworker raved about the food. We decided to give it a try since it was only 10 minutes away from us. When we walked in, the atmosphere was completely different from what I imagined it to be- in a good way. It was homey, quaint, and was filled with things that resembled Thomas Edison and had all of these interesting signs on the wall you can read while you eat. It was pretty cool. I had a Coke while my boyfriend and his mom tried one of their beers- I believe it was the E. Edison Light beer. They both enjoyed it and claimed it was smooth and good. We started off with the soup flight that consisted of their Broccoli Cheddar Soup, High Voltage Chili, and their New England Clam Chowder. It was presented in a bread bowl (each soup/chili had their own little pocket in the bowl) and it was delicious. The New England Clam Chowder tasted like a classic to me, and my boyfriend and mom raved about the Broccoli Cheddar and Chili soups. The bread was even delicious. It was a slightly warm Ciabatta bread. For our main dishes, I ordered the Pretzel Crusted Chicken with double mashed potatoes (it comes with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables but I opted for the double mash because I'm a carb monster) as well as a honey mustard sauce with cranberries (which you can have on the side or put directly on the chicken). My boyfriend and his mom both ordered the South of the Burger with regular fries (and my boyfriend opted out of having the Avocado). I chose to have the Caesar salad small plate for my salad option and it was delicious. Creamy Caesar dressing was tossed with crisp romaine lettuce and yummy croutons. They also brought out bread with my salad for the table and it had garlic butter with it. The garlic butter was a winner. Our waitress, Chrissy, told me that they make their own butter and cut up garlic gloves to put them into the butter along with parsley. Amazing. When our entree's arrived we were excited. The burgers were cooked exactly how my boyfriend and his mom wanted them (medium) and they were big. The fries were well done and phenomenal- I was jealous I didn't have any. They both enjoyed their burger immensely and took the rest of it home to enjoy today. My chicken was presented to me in such an appetizing way. It was two pieces of chicken sitting upon a bed of mashed potatoes, with two additional sides of whipped mashed potatoes sitting pretty on two of the corners on the plate, with an edible flower. The edible flower was good and a nice touch to the plate. The chicken was delicious. It wasn't dry or anything. It was fabulous. I can't wait to eat the rest later. The potatoes were some of the best mashed potatoes I have had from a restaurant. They were smooth and tasted homemade, with hints of black pepper. Absolutely amazing. Flash forward to this morning. We loved the Edison Grill so much that we ordered breakfast from there (my boyfriend and I). I ordered a two egg and cheese sandwich with Applewood Smoked Bacon and American cheese on Ciabatta bread with breakfast potatoes. My boyfriend ordered 3 of their chocolate chip pancakes with butter and maple syrup. I ordered an additional side of breakfast potatoes for him, also. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. One of the best egg sandwiches I've had in a long time. The Ciabatta bread was warm and paired nicely with the eggs, bacon, and cheese. I normally don't like breakfast potatoes or home fries, so I was skeptical about trying them from the Edison Grill, but I'm so glad I did. They were amazing. Crunchy with pepper and hints of rosemary. Delicious. The pancakes we ordered were huge, and absolutely amazing. Fluffy, warm, and down right delicious. Our bill after dinner last night was about 99 dollars and some change. It was normal after the food that we ordered and we felt it was fair priced. This morning, our breakfast was about 25 dollars and some change, which again was rather reasonable (minus the charge for delivery to our apartment and everything). Our waitress from last night, Chrissy, was incredibly sweet and kind, and kept checking to ensure we were enjoying our time. She answered every question we had and gave wonderful suggestions for us, which really completed our experience. The Edison Grill is unique and a place worth going to. My boyfriend and I found our new favorite place, something that was only 10 minutes away from us. In New York, local restaurants that are off of the beaten path and are delicious are called "Hidden Gems". I would say The Edison Grill is a Hidden Gem and is a place we will be returning to often to try other menu items and to enjoy. read more

Not happy with the menu change! We ordered the fish and chips. It wasn't the crispy beer batter dish they normal serve. It tasted like frozen breaded fish no flavor, Not good. Gave us a very small portion of French Fries! House chips which are normally warm were ice cold and hard as a rock. The original menu in our opinion was much better. We miss the shredded buffalo chicken wrap that was delicious and the bear battered fish sandwich too, delicious with and amazing flavor. read more
