We were a party of 7 and did the Playground game room, which was rated on a 7/10 difficulty. Our game operator was named Pono and he was extremely helpful and assisting while explaining how to play the room to us. We went since a friend is getting married and appropriately selected the "Prison Break" room. It was rated 9 out of 10 for difficulty. Thankfully, the group of friends I was with were smart otherwise we would not have made it out with 4 minutes, 27 seconds left. Entertaining and a lot of laughing. Our game master (?) was Pono. Went here with some friends to check out this new place at Ala Moana. They're located on the first floor of the wing that leads to Target we had a group of 4 people, they assign 8 to a room so if you don't want strangers, best to get 8 in your group. We were assigned w two couples and it was actually okay with strangers. However I felt like 8 people was too many, I feel like 6 people max would have been better. I felt like there were always 2 people that wasn't able to actively engage in the activities because the space is only so big. I would rank this as a top notch escape room, the technology worked great, surprises and moving parts were great. You also get endless clues and a friendly staff. I wished they had a spot to take photos with those signs that say I escaped! But they don't. They do let you take photos in the actual escape room if you want though. They have a kamaaina rate for 15% off so check that out if you're a Hawaii resident. read more

The escape room was okay. But they do put you with random people which wasn't appreciated. Especially because they were kids. I wish they would give us an option with working with kids or not. I was not expecting to be playing with kids. The escape room in Waikiki was much better and they cost basically the same (I think the Waikiki one is cheaper though). Staff was friendly but pushes their sales pitch a bit too much. Overall will not be going back to the Ala Moana one. read more

My family and I had lots of fun for my son's 15th birthday! They even set up some things specially for him, at no extra cost!

I was not sure what to expect when we booked, but my son wanted to go, so why not? SO glad we did! From the beginning, the experience was fun. The friend that greeted us (Pono) was incredibly friendly and set the tone for our experience. We booked the 4:50 time slot and arrived a bit early but that didn't seem to bother him. There was one other group waiting in the lobby area, so we waited outside. Right at 4:50 we weee called in and given brief instructions on how to proceed. The door closed and we were off! The game itself was fun and challenging enough to keep us interested from start to end. The clues showed up in the right times and were just enough to keep us moving. I found out later the Game Host (Sharanne) was supporting us during the experience. We finished in time and when the door opened Sharanne jumped in seemingly sincerely happy for us. I note these things because the Escape Room concept seems fun and IS fun, but I had nothing to compare it to. However the HUMAN experience I do, and my whole family agreed the beginning and ending vibes to this adventure could make or break the experience. Wow! The Escape Game is the Disneyland of escape rooms. It has became a family tradition favorite of 'breaking out' of an escape room to bring in the New Year. Having completed all the rooms of Chambers and Breakout Waikiki, we were thinking of which room we may have forgotten the most to re-play. Scouring through Yelp we discovered The Escape Game Honolulu. Being an Aunty of 2 children it was helpful to go onto their site as there's a sneak preview of the interior of the rooms. We chose 'The Depths,' as it looked challenging yet kid-friendly at the same time. All 7 of us arrived, we were greeted at the door by a very friendly and welcoming gentleman opening the door for us as we made our way through the entrance. Lady at the desk checked us in she was so kind reassuring the kiddies they will be fine, as it's not spooky or scary, and gave us suggestions for her favorite rooms. Our escape room guide Eve, led us to our room, introductions were made, explained the rules, pointed out the shelf where we could store our belongings, and we were all so excited! I must say, this company does an amazing job hiring great employees. Eve was so cordial, friendly, professional and helpful. The customer service made this experience a par above all other escape rooms. Now onto the room, since it is new everything was in pristine condition, all the clues made sense, buttons, knobs, figurines, everything fit together. The sounds, lights, hi-tech and attention to detail really made the immersive room feel as if we were 'in the depths!' Eve even asked if we wanted a sneak peak at one of the other rooms. So we got to take a look at the prison one. It's the only time I'd be excited to pay to be locked in a prison for 60 minutes! It looked like a good challenge for my competitive family. I was debating on whether to leave a review because I don't want it to get crowded with people . And ask for Eve, being one of the best game masters we've had! I'm such a huge fan of this escape room. The technology was advanced, the challenges were fun, and the staff was great. We did the Heist and it was 60 minutes of nonstop action. There were multiple rooms to get through, and everyone in our group of 6 was able to participate and do their part. When we needed help, we pressed a button and a clue appeared on the screen. This way you can have intense play they go somewhere in the mall to have delicious food & beverages and talk about your experience was. Fun and adventurous! Great for groups. Super super fun! The whole experience from start to end lasted for about a total of a bjt over 1.5 hours. The room that we did actually "transported" us to a second room where the fun and adventures continued! I went with my coworker and we had a blast. It's especially fun and exciting when the time starts to run out and you realize you still have a lot of tasks left to do to complete the mission cuz that's when you start panicking for real haha.
