We had the BEST experience at Johnny Fabs Cadillac Grill, and it was all thanks to our waitress, Ally Mae! She was absolutely amazing, so attentive without ever being overbearing, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. You can tell she really cares about her tables and takes pride in what she does. She answered all of our questions, made great recommendations, kept everything running smoothly, and made the whole experience feel fun and relaxed. We ordered the Queso Flameado, Chicken Strips and the Hot Ham & Cheese. The queso had chorizo and a lot of flavor but you have to eat it fast or it's hard to manage. The flour tortillas it came with were fresh and flavorful. The chips were a little stale. The chicken strips were hot and tasty, but the gravy's on the side needed something. The hot ham & cheese was very tasty, and mayo and honey mustard were a nice addition. I would have like a few slices of tomato. The mixed veggies were cooked just right. First and last visit. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other. Waiter dumped one plate upon delivering so we had to wait for it to be remade. My tacos did not come with the fixings - had to ask for them. My daughter ordered shrimp tacos and got the shrimp plate...when we pointed it out to the waiter his solution was to just "bring some tortillas" and then tried charging us for the wrong plate. Waiter did not card anyone at the table - including my newly turned 21 year old daughters. Tried to talk to manager...she blew me off and didn't listen. I am very disappointed in this establishment. I complete secret shops on multiple different apps to use the money as a part-time job. I was hired by Johnny Fabs to complete a dinner shop in which I would get paid $100. I completed the shop at in its entirety and my shop was denied and I was denied without compensation. I spent $110 here, for the point of making the money back. I would've never gone here otherwise.When trying to contact the shop organizer, I was told there was nothing they could do because it was denied. I am very disappointed to be treated like this as a independent contractor. I can't imagine how they treat their employees or their customers if this is how they treat me. We came in and got greeted and seated pretty quickly. There was no wait since we got there right at around 11:30. The inside is neat, decorated like a 60's place. Not so much like a diner though which is what we were kind of hoping for. Our server was nice, he checked on us a few times. Got us the things we needed such as refills or forks and other utensils. We had the moz. sticks as an appetizer, they were good in size, you get about 6 for $12, which was a little over priced to me being honest. Each plate ranges from $10-$40. First of all Macie (sp?) was our server and she was very pleasant. She answered questions, checked on us several times and brought extra ranch without being asked. We had the fried cheese appetizer and it was very good! I had the chicken tenders with green chili gravy and they were served hot and crispy - liked the little kick of the chili in the gravy. The fries were not so great; soggy and not very hot. Husband had a burger that was missing the BBQ sauce, or there was so little on it he couldn't see or taste it. He had the sweet potato fries which suffered from the same issue as the regular fries, just not so good. If you want to be able to chat with those with you, I'd suggest somewhere else. Although other reviews said the music low in volume, we found it was not, and not so easy to carry on a conversation. Maybe someone turned up the volume a little more the night we were there. Noticed this new place a couple of weeks ago and just had a chance to try it tonight. We were greeted and seated immediately, which was great. Decor is kind of what you'd expect given the name. Some 50's/60's stuff, but not like an old 50's diner. Some neon, lots of old photos, and lively music, but not too loud. Server was very good, answered all of our questions, and made some great suggestions. Ended up getting the Green Chile Cheeseburger, and it did not disappoint. Great flavor from the chile, but not too hot. Burger was flavorful without being overly heavy. Fries were very good as well. They have a pretty broad menu, and you can get everything from burgers to enchiladas and fajitas. Something for everyone! Price was pretty reasonable as well. Will be back for sure! read more

Service here is horrible and the food sucks as well. Ordered food online waited 15 min outside then waited 30 more min inside to pick up the food. Once got home the burger is overcooked and dry. Ordered the southwest egg rolls and they were cold and just threw in the box. Then the pineapple cake was old and dry as well. Been here before and the food was great but not this time and I think it is because I don't give the lady at the front a tip when I paid for it and that's because I went and picked up my food so I don't need to tip someone who isn't doing anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone I could tell they were taking there time and just not caring about my order or my food this place sucks and I spent over 60 dollars too and will not go back just because the service is horrible. We decided to try this place at 11:15 on a Sunday morning and at first I thought, not bad. Music wasn't blaring. Good songs playing. Friendly hostesses and wait staff. Great start for everyone. Unfortunately I soon figured out why Jordan restaurant group doesn't engage or care about Yelp reviews. It was a total disaster of a restaurant. The service was well below par. Orders were screwed up. Food took an hour to come out and was cold by the time it hit the table. The chicken fried steak was a cheaply made bland floury mess. Absolutely terrible. My wife enjoyed her chicken fajita bowl that came to the table after everyone else had eaten because the server forgot to put in the order AND didn't seem to notice everyone else had food except my wife. So we had to flag someone down to remedy the situation. To top all this garbage experience off the waitress added a 10$ alcoholic drink to our tab. Not sure if she was trying to get one over on us or was just really bad at her job but PLEASE, CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!! We've been several times and each time our experience and service declines. The restaurant overall is clean, open atmosphere but the music was loud! So loud I couldn't talk to the person next to me without yelling. As the evening gets busier, the music was turned up which made it worse! Server only came around a few times and seemed bothered when asked for something. Gave us our ticket before we were ready. I will call a Mulligan; they've only been open a few weeks, and service needed to be more consistent - not just mine. I sat at the bar and watched numerous drinks go out before being greeted; I ordered Oyster Rockafeller, which was OK. I then opted for the Cuban sandwich, a "house specialty." The chef(s) should be sent to "time-out" and watch YouTube for 2 hours after school; they might learn something. The sandwich was not toasted, only one pickle, and overloaded with bread. The sandwich took almost 20 minutes to arrive with cold, unseasoned fries. Then I got the check, overpriced and underserved. Let me preface this with the food was delicious the service was wonderful, and Thomas one of the owners was fantastic! I tried the Oyster sampler, it had two Vodoo, 2 Spicy, and 2 Rockefeller style oysters. The oysters were great. The presentation was a bit jumbled and messy, you see I love the melty cheese parts that surrounded the oysters. They broil them on a plate of rock salt, to keep them from flipping over (this is insider info from Thomas) I was sad tho that the melty cheese melted onto the rock salt, because well salt is salty, and I'm already salty enough so I couldn't eat it . 3 small slices of toasted bread are served with 6 oysters which made me try and decide how I was going to distribute the oysters to have the bread with each one. (I was given more bread upon request)! I had a midnight sangria and a Paloma both made very well and the bartender was awesome and personable! Great place will be back! read more

Very good brand-new restaurant that could get even better. My family and I had lunch there today and were generally impressed by the food and service with a few areas for improvement. Let's start with the misses. The guacamole app was far too salty even for my salt-loving toddler but was otherwise fresh and citrusy. My wife's shrimp fettucine alfredo's sauce had the consistency of watered-down milk, which can be attributed to the kitchen staff rushing to plate the noodles before they had time to drain properly, and I made that observation to the server with the hope that she would forward it to management. On the plus side, my wife's pomegranate & pecan salad was outstanding, especially paired with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. My mother-in-law's rotisserie chicken was tender and the side of homestyle skin-on mashed potatoes was very good, though the pinto beans were somewhat bland. My own ribeye steak initially came to the table rare rather than medium, but after a quick trip back to the kitchen it returned beautifully seared and, in a perfect example of the Maillard reaction, was as excellent a steak as any I've had in Lubbock. I also had the mashed potatoes and beans and shared my MIL's opinion of both, though my wife prefers a creamy skin-free mash and was not a fan. Where we also differed, surprisingly, was in our opinion's about the cheesecake. Although my wife is European, she has grown accustomed to the creamy "cheesecake" aberrations served at the Cheesecake Factory and similar corporate outlets, even eschewing the denser authentic New York-style cheesecakes, while I have had the reverse journey and am now a fan of creamy/crumbly European-style cheesecakes. Let me be clear: this cheesecake was exquisite, and my wife needs her palate reset. My MIL, who has been in the US for only a year, shared my opinion. Our other dessert item was the pineapple upside-down cake, which was flavorful if a bit dry. With two lemonades and tax our check came to $108, which is a bit steep overall but my steak, the cheesecake, and my wife's salad made the meal totally worth it. I should note that there is a long wait for tables, which we got around (on the third try) by showing up at 10:50, just before opening. Service quality is OK, especially given how atrocious it can be elsewhere in the post-COVID era. The ambiance is casual and friendly, and surprisingly not as loud as you might expect. I'll probably give the place a few weeks to settle in and then stop by to try a few more items from the menu, although I may be tempted to try the excellent ribeye again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and of course I'll be having another slice of that outstanding cheesecake. read more

My family visited yesterday and we absolutely loved it. We have been three times and each time the food was great and the portion sizes were big as well. We had chicken strips, a burger, fajita quesadilla, and the kids bean and cheese burritos. They were all very good. We also ordered the cheese sticks as an app and have to say they are one of the best in town easy! My wife ordered the lunch menu chicken and a manager came out later to let us know they made a full size order instead of the lunch size. He brought us the full order and said he didn't want to waste it. The staff were nice, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Just moved to Lubbock and found this gem of a place. We tried the burgers and YUM! Nice and fresh ingredients, food came out hot and the server was very sweet, responsive and efficient. The vibe is "cool" and the sports bar looks like a place I would want to hang out and watch a very important football game! The bathrooms were clean which is a big thing for me. That tells me that management runs things right in the back of the house too! I would highly recommend! We will be back! read more

I normally do not post as I know restaurants can live and die by reviews. I love Lubbock, love to eat out and stay loyal to the establishments that provide good food and service thru the years. We had decided to give Johnny Flobs a try. To start we ordered drinks, and I was told, I am sorry sir, but we do not have Merlot. I said no problem, just bring me the Pinot Noir. Well, they did, and the glass was ridiculously dirty, and the wine was older than the bar tender. I sent it back and asked for a Dos draft. Low and behold my beer came out flat. So much for "stay thirsty my friends". Next our entree was very amateurish. I ordered Chicken Fried Sirloin with corn on the cob and mashed tators. Ok so have you ever been in a hurry and had to make Hungry Jack box mashed tators at home? Well, they have too. You cooks will know the difference. The corn on the cob was very, very tuff and under cooked and I can almost guarantee my sirloin chicken fry came out of a package or box. On a high note, someone there knows how to make gravy as it was good. My wife's fries were good, and she asked for a small box to take some of those home for our dogs. Well after asking twice for a box we finally got one. We are not mean people and wish good on everyone. This place will not do well here with the business plan on their current menu.
