The Falls Bar is one of the bars located in the Gaylord Opryland. It is a nice bar and lounge situated underneath the gorgeous atrium domes on the Cascades wing's end, where you can unwind with a drink, contemplate life, and enjoy the music-- whether it's the artist playing the keyboard, guitar, or both, sometimes simultaneously. Drink prices are ok, at least for hotel and resort standards. We didn't have much of a problem obtaining drinks from the bar. Table service takes a little longer. Specialty drink-wise, they have some nice presentations using rocks glasses for pours. I didn't give it the extra dirty (martini, that is) test so I can't tell you whether they make the mark with the classics. But it is a solid place to enjoy drinks while you stay at the resort, especially if you are in the Cascades wing. read more

Great little place to relax with a drink and a snack while taking in the beautiful atrium of The Gaylord Hotel. Surrounding the bar is lush greens accompanied by the sounds of waterfalls. In addition, there was live music from a solo artist singing and playing the guitar. Both the martini I ordered and the Old Fashioned my husband ordered were delicious. The only downside was the service and the bartenders and servers lack of public relations. This is a great spot to just hang and listen to music. There's live music here most of the afternoons and evenings. Service was a bit slow but our waitress tried to be as attentive as possible and even went to another bar in the resort to grab a bottle of wine as requested by one of our party. It was raining when we were there and we actually had some drips but we didn't mind. It is called the falls. I ordered the Getaway which was supposed to have rum in it. I literally tasted tequila. This place is cool but a little expensive! We had 2 alcohol drinks at it was $15! I had a bud light on draft and my husband had Sam Adams on draft! I think your paying for the scenery! I stopped here to pick up a couple of beers to take back to my room. For some reason, the bar needs to open any alcoholic beverage before they let you walk away with it, so I let the bartender do what he needed to do and took my two open Yazoo brews with me. Went to the bar with some friends who were staying at the hotel. My only complaint is that they don't really have any food to go with your drinks. Chips or nuts are about it. During my stay for a conference at Gaylord Opryland Convention Center, I tried this bar/lounge. The service was slightly slow, despite it not being very crowded. Surrounding it was a scenic waterfall, lush greenery, and soothing music, all within an atrium. I had a delicious chocolate brownie a la mode. The Falls is located under the dome in the Gaylord Opryland Resort. It's like dining outside but having the protection from the elements. There are very loud waterfalls as part of the scenery. It's nice if you want to drown out the noise in the area, but if you want to have a conversation it might be a little difficult. A bit of a slow start with service. It was a little after lunch time on Wednesday that I arrived. I checked out the menu and decided to stay. They have a wide selection of cocktails and a really interesting themed teapot shareable cocktail list during this season. I was curious about the reverse vesper cocktail. Traditionally, a vesper cocktail is made with 3 to 1 gin and vodka along with Lillet Blanc. She explained that the reverse vesper they offer was made with equal parts of gin and vodka. I requested that she make it with Hendricks gin instead of Beefeater. That's a personal preference, but it was good to know that they would do that for me. The server talked me into the baked brie ($12) after she said she would lightly toast the bread for me. The brie came out really fast, within a couple of minutes. My drink had not even made it to the table yet. The brie was served in a dish with berries, nuts and maple syrup. It is not very large but comes with 4 toast points. It's a nice size if you just want a snack. The only weird part was the thick hunk of rind that was left in the dish. It really wasn't pleasant to look at or eat around. It wasn't like the extremely thin rinds usually used with baked brie, either. I was still waiting on my drink, thinking that the bartender may have been busy doing something. By the time I leisurely finished my brie,I still had not received it. Summary: The scenery is awesome. My water was refilled regularly. The brie was good, but not great. Nice atmosphere, and a good bar spot if you're staying at this resort. I prefer it too the sports-heavy options. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here if I weren't staying at the Opryland for work. The atmosphere is cool, but the wine selection isn't that special. We asked for a Pinot Noir, not too dry. The Derby special was recommended to us, and it was a multi-red-blend and quite dry. The bar is better than the tables. Nice little canopy, pretty stone, comfy bar stools. But the stools are so beat up. Time for some new furniture here! The reason for my single star is the bad service and sub-par food. Got the baled brie. I didn't realize u could ruin cheese! After waiting nearly 40 min for an appetizer, It was so small and the bread was hard as a rock. If the bartender was anywhere around, I might have requested some new bread. We tried to sit at the bar but it was too crowded. We found a bar table where the people were leaving. We sat for 15 minutes at a table full of dirty dishes waiting on anyone to show up. Nothing. I went to the bar and asked the bartender if anyone was serving the bar area. He said yes. I asked when we could expect someone. He said, "whenever they show up". A spectacular view, but it sorta stops there. The fried green tomatoes were average. The tomato chutney and aoili were pretty darned good and helped em to recover. Not even 110 pm and have seen so many people turned away. Service is not exceptional just in a hurry to get out tonight. We are all in different time zones getting in to town. Despite the opulence of the Opryland resort, there isn't much to be desired about the food scene. It's a novelty to grab a drink under the dome around the waterfalls, but the price and the very slow service are certainly not worth the effort. I was here for a conference and it took almost 35 minutes to get served. The place wasn't crowded at all as the sessions hadn't concluded. Unfortunately as the night gets later you are presented with fewer and fewer options and this is basically it depending on what day of the week you are there. Do yourself a favor and venture outside the resort and enjoy the other parts of Nashville- even if is checking out the local places across the street. read more

Only 1 bartender serving with attitude, taking forever with back to customers entering a drink order, ignoring 6-8 waiting customers, zero smile, and cut me off with "i'll be with in a minute" as she's topping off a drink.
