I ate there today, and pulled a long blonde hair out of my food the lady cashing me out said that the hair she saw was on top of a paper insinuating that it was not in my food. I assured her I personally pulled the hair out of my food. My hair is brown, I was still charged full price for my meal. NOT ONE DOLLAR was discounted!!! I will never be going back!!!!! Very upset and unsatisfied customer. Do not recommend this place the way the lady handled the situation was unprofessional, and I'd also like to mention that nobody in the back was wearing any kind of hair nets or nothing of the sort. read more

I came here on the recommendation of the clerk on duty at the HOJO down the street where I spend the night. I ate an early lunch of carne gusisado. Was so surprised at the sized of the meal for only $6. I also ordered a carne asada burrito to-go and a carry one meal for my flight. Service was Texas classic friendly as you would expect from these parts of the US. Would definitely make this my food stop again. read more

The food wasn't bad and prices were fine. When it was time to pay the lady at the register (I believe may have been the owner), she asked if I wanted to leave a tip so I did a normal 20%. I ordered a two egg omelet at the price of 4.90 asked them to put onions , jalepeneos and cheese they forgot to put jalepeno and onion in omlet so they brought me a spoonful of each on not grilled charged me 1.50 for onion and 1.50 for jalepeno than I asked for some mustard 35cents for a spoonful so I ended up paying over 8 dollars for a two egg omlete , than they charged me for 2 waters cause they were in to go cups which i'didnt ask for one was 75 cents the other a dollar both same size read more

This is a simple place, not for the foodie that is adventurous. With that said, even though I identify myself as a foodie, we went with the attitude of wanting a simple breakfast and were not disappointed. We had a non adventurous breakfast of chicken and waffles and ranchero eggs. Simple, filling, and fast friendly service. I've been going to this place every Monday thru Friday . The last couple of months I've been going I've felt like a total inconvenience to the severs. I figured maybe they were having a bad day, but no. It's every time the last few months. My daughter has been craving pancakes for days. So, we got up this morning on the quest. We thought Pancake House first. My mom is visiting from PA, so we try to go places she cannot in PA. They were closed, since it is Labor Day. So, I said "Tech Cafe." I thought there was a new one somewhere. We put it in Yelp and chose Tech Cafe 2. Very sweet waitress, good and fast service, and very good food! I am picky about pancakes and don't like very many on Lubbock, in even the more expensive places in Lubbock. My lady decided to bring us here for her birthday breakfast choice, I figured it'd be generic food or fake stuff... Let me tell you!!! I got the combo plate and everything was soooo good!! Even the French fries were crisp to perfection, & at a very good price!! Our waitress Olivia was as sweet as can be and very helpful. I have passed this fast food restaurant for a few years but never gone in. The parking lot is always full at lunch time. This past Sunday, I needed a cheeseburger and my favorite Christakis was closed for the day. I only gave them 4 stars because I went through the drive-through and I waited for 10 minutes. The lady at the drive-through window was very nice. I ordered 2 cheeseburger meals to-go. The burgers were packed tight in paper wrappers. I won't go to certain burger places in town because they don't use this method. I use the same method when I make bagels to-go in the car. It keeps the bread and center ingredients from sliding apart. You can also half unwrap the food, making it easy to eat and clean while driving. And of course, the burgers were still warm and perfectly intact when I got them home. The patties were hand-formed, not frozen. The patties and buns were at least 1/3 lb. The onion rings were perfect. They were more dark brown (but not burnt) and very crispy. I'm really surprised that this place is packed everyday at lunch and there were only 2 reviews. I will definitely go back. Bring cash! This is a cash-only place. read more

This cafe was a great find. If you're after something healthy, perhaps look elsewhere but if you need a quick, cheap and tasty breakfast, this will hit the spot! Menu has a lot of breakfast options, burritos, classic Americana diner food, burgers etc. super affordable. Two of us ate for $10 including coffee, which leaves room for extra tips for the hardworking staff. (There's no tip jar so be sure to leave a generous tip on the table after heading to the counter to pay).The staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. The flavor was ok. Poor staff was overworked and they seem to be doing their best with what they had but they didn't have forks, they were overwhelmed and extremely busy. It took me about 20min to pay and get going because there was a line that didn't get moving until the poor girl that was on the drive thru and serving tables was able to help us. read more

When I place the order over the phone the lady did not understand my order then place another girl who did not take the order correctly when I got home have placed the order I noticed I was missing 3 items I called the lady back and she continued to argue with me say that she checked it and it was fine the cont to say that the did not charge me for the missing items I could not believe that for 3 dinner plates and a burger would cost 52 dollars she continued to be argumentative nevertheless I will not be returning to that expensive horrible place read more

I love this place. Close by to home and a simple but great menu. I always love getting the huevos rancheros plate or the dinner plate that is the special for that day. Prompt and friendly service. You can't beat Tech Cafe for comfort food. It's a must every time I come to Lubbock! Breakfast all day is the best!
