Finally, I've got some time to review the final, ultimate sports bar in the Marina/Cow Hollow district, a sleepy neighborhood dive called the Final Final. There isn't anything super remarkable about the place, but that's what makes it special. It's a sports bar complete with many TVs for viewing (what else?) sports, a long horseshoe bar, a couple pool tables and plenty of memorabilia on the walls. They aren't reinventing the wheel here. But you will feel at home in no time grabbing a seat next to some locals and catching a game or two. I know I did. They have a great beer selection and the friendly bartenders pour 'em stiff. It only took two gin and tonics for me to feel the midday buzz, and that was after I ate a huge slice of pizza. As far as sports bars go, The Final Final can rub shoulders with the best of them. This place is great! Especially since it's an unexpected pleasure in the middle of one of San Francisco's most posh neighborhoods. Down to Earth, great staff, friendly vibe, and interesting history all over the walls. They proudly display a couple seats from Candlestick Park as well as articles and photos from NorCals baseball past without being pretentious or unwelcoming about it all. It's a family owned and run neighborhood pub and you feel the dedication they have to being good local business people when you visit for a cocktail. I also have to point out that people like Emyli are the reason Yelp is such a sad and false predictor of quality. A spoiled, shitty, temper tantrum throwing asshole shouldn't have the ability to post and impact a business over something so trivial and pathetic. During football season and basketball season, the Final can be full at 10 am on Saturday morning with fans of teams from the Midwest and East Coast. Same with early pro games on Sunday. Afternoon games are busy, and then at some point the evening crowd comes in to finish off the day. In other words, this place isn't empty too often. Final Final is like that except it's a place for the Nebraska peeps. You're transported to Nebraska in the middle of SF. hehe. Walking into the bar, you're blinded by a sea of people wearing red. This bar is the shit!!!! BEST CHARGING STATION IN TOWN (cords provided, don't be a dick and try to take one either they're super glued) Aside from the charging station, my boyfriend and I are from San Diego (my first time in this beautiful city) and we were with his sister and her man who live here in SF..we were initially here to just plug in our phones + grab a quick drink and get back on the electric scooters so we can dip around town, but ended up staying much longer..which was most definitely worth it! The whole environment / vibe of the bar was super chill, fun and entertaining! Pool table and darts, ya really can't go wrong! On top of the dope ass activities with great company, bartenders were excellent (their playlist for music--and I like my music loud..was random but real good random) and just overall I felt like it was a family owned business where you really felt the love. I didn't catch any names but thank you all for all your hospitality and for an awesome time!!! Bad reviews should be irrelevant, experience things and places for yourself but if you have something to complain or be mad about..writing a bad review is such a waste of good space for better ones. My boyfriend and I walked by this place on the way to get sandwiches elsewhere and the friendly service and specialty cocktails caught our eye! It's a 35-45 minute drive from my house and it's worth the drive every time. Relatively easy to find street parking, good drinks, free popcorn, decent bar food, pool tables, dart boards, TVs everywhere, clean restrooms, and a juke box. Oh, and can't forget about the awesome people behind the bar, who are actually the reason for the five star rating. Although it is a sports bar, I've never actually come here to watch a game so I can't say much for how crowded or wild it gets on "game day". It does get pretty packed on the weekends after 10pm though so don't be surprised if there's a line of people waiting out the door. read more

Your average dive bar in SF that also has free popcorn. We came in on a Thursday afternoon after getting a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge. From the water, the Uber was like 8 minutes. There were 3 of us. 6 beers cost like $55 which I thought was average, so I thought. But after a weekend of going to nearly 12 bars, it was the most expensive beer we had in any bar. The ambiance would be great for watching sporting events. Elliott, one of the bartenders, stated they would change the channel for any sporting event if you asked. He also said that for Nebraska Huskers and Iowa Hawkeyes college football games, nearly 200 people show up. I do have respect for the bartenders and the Final Final which can only be explained by stating the whole story: An older white gentleman walked in. He asked for a half beer and the bartender declined him, the man walked out. My friends and I looked at each other confused about the whole thing. Elliott explained that the man had Alzheimer's and goes into bars asking for half a beer. He stated that the man might come in 4 times in a single day and goes to many bars in the area where they serve him. It says a lot about the establishment they are willing to turn down the paying man's money because it's the right thing to do. read more

I went there because I was in SF on a football Sunday and this place yelped as a Vikings bar. There were some Vikings fans there but a lot of other people, and all the various games were on the TVs scattered around the place. So if you're looking for a place where you can watch any game this would work. As a real go-to spot for Vikings fans though it's not all that. But the three stars are mainly about the food. Not good. The wings were gooey, like maybe they had been boiled, not even drained or dried very well, and then just dredged in some sauce. The pizza was a little better but only by comparison to the scary wings. Still, it's a bar with nice people and lots of TVs. An ok place, depending on what you're looking for. read more

So, it was pointed out to me, by one of my very favorite fellow drinkers (you may know him as the guy who passed out at my last party with his hand down his pants) that I am slipping. This one is hard to write because I really want to like this place. I really do. Really. The Final Final is near my place and has a really nice owner. They have free popcorn, two pool tables, video golf (which is one of the few video games I actually like playing... only because I was coerced into liking it with a whole lot of pot in college), and Papa Johns pizza, which is much better than you can imagine when you're three sheets to the wind. However, they have one bartender who irks me so much that in order to tolerate her I end up racking up a $100 bar tab every time I am in the place. Then there are the guys who throw out lines like "Are you drunk enough that I can take your fine ass home yet?" or "Want to walk down the street to my hotel and get high?". I would rather spend my $100 on a round trip Greyhound ticket to drink for an evening in Bakersfield than spend any more time here....but, one extra star for the owner and the pizza. read more

When I was young I did stupid shit. I also did stupid shit three years ago. One of the dumb things I did three years ago was leave my friends here and get in a van - yes, a FUCKING VAN - when I was wasted with two strange guys so we could smoke pot. They also gave me a ride home, though they wouldn't listen to directions and we ended up almost at Ocean Beach when I freaked the fuck out and insisted that they turn around and bring me home. Luckily I carry a buck knife and open it and slide it into my sleeve when I'm uncomfortable - even more luckily, I didn't have to use it. I don't smoke pot anymore. If you're a fan of great sports bars that have history screaming from the walls, The Final Final is your stop. Situated in an area of Cow Hollow/Marina that's not as easily accessible to the BROS, it always has a good crowd. I suppose it helps that I live two blocks from this bar too...it's my local watering hole. I'm a huge fan of places with free popcorn and the machine in the back of the bar is always full :) They have two pool tables, a few dart boards and tons of TV's. Note: the pool tables are usually shut down during big game days and the evenings for sake of space. I think more that anything it's important to have a local sports bar that is casual and easy. The bartender on last night was a jack-hole. The bar was practically empty, but when I first made eye contact (didn't even wave or open my mouth), he snapped, "I'll be with you in a few minutes," and then in some awkward act of discount contrition (or else he thought I overpaid), he threw back one of the three fives I gave him (literally threw it, and as much at me as onto the bar) on a $10.25 tab, and then gave me $4.75 in change. I guess math isn't his thing. The bar was populated half by an uncomfortably quiet post-game softball team and half by pathetic, lonely, typical Marina dudes, one of whom took my friend home after 20 minutes and three drinks (her therapist tells her she has little to no standards), and another who inadvertently punched a friend in the face while trying to flirt with her. Liked this place a lot until yesterday. They have free popcorn, a wide selection of beers on tap, and lots of TVs to catch your favorite game. They also have a really rude staffer. We were there for the 49ers playoff game, and 5 minutes after the end of the game, he came by to collect our pitchers. The problem is, there was still beer in them. Now, if he'd said anything at all, like "hey, I need to get these in the dishwasher, can I pour your beer in a glass for you?" this would be a 4 or 5 star review. Instead, he said nothing and tried to take our beer. When we told him we weren't done with the pitchers, he said "Yes you are," and kept trying to take them. Finally, he slammed them down and yelled "then you'd better pour them into a glass right now, because I'm taking these pitchers!" Look, if you need to clean up after the game, that's great. I recently joined a softball team with friends for the first time in AGES. Growing up summer softball was the thing in my home town, I loved softball and played every year. However, I was an awkward girl, I had no confidence, wasn't considered "cool," and wore bi-focals. My softball career focused more on the free ice cream after the game. Fast forward to 2009... I ooze confidence, consider myself cool (who cares what other people think), and now wear contacts. And I quote from one of our games "I'm a fuckin athlete!" The best thing about "grown up" sports is the BOOZING. I have never been so athletic with such a high blood alcohol content in my life, and let me tell you, its the new steroid! Met friends for a drink here last night and have only been the one time, but this place doesn't seem to deserve the negative reviews it's been getting lately. Service - Both the bartender and the waitress were pleasant and checked in with us frequently. Prices - About average (maybe slightly cheaper) for the marina The place was busy but not uncomfortably crowded on a Friday night. Other customers were of all ages, but it was def. not a meat market (and note - it's in the Marina). Way fewer dbags than most places in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but I'd stop in again if I was in the neighborhood. A good place to catch the game - lots of TVs. read more

Came here last night with some peeps from my softball team. It was fairly crowded due to the fact that it was a stop of the Alpha Bar group (where every other week a group goes to a bar starting with a different letter). We ordered draft bud lights for $3 and a friend ordered a pizza for $11.25. They have a lot of great muchie foods, snacks and lots of draft beers! I think the normal price is around 5-6$. The bouncer was nice, the bartenders were super slammed and very nice! Great service, great products of course, so I'm a fan! I'll be back when I'm over in that area. I like the fact that I can come here dressed to the nines right out of the ballet and hang out with lots of good ol' Irish boys and New Zealand rugby players. This was our afterwork local when I worked across the street. In fact, it was practically an extension of our office. As a sports bar, or a local, it's great. As a stumbling block after a drunken Yelp holiday party it's maybe not so good.
