Do not hire this ripoff artist! He came out to give me an estimate on my fireplace. Before coming out, he told me that the cost for the "inspection" was $90 and it would be applied toward any work I had done in the future. My concern was some loose bricks on the front of the fireplace. When he came out, he looked at it and told me it didn't affect the working of the fireplace. He admired the nice logs that were in the fireplace.
I asked him to come back to perform a chimney sweep, and he said it would be $150 for that service. He stood me up for our first appointment, but made it for the second.
His "chimney sweep" consisted of using a vacuum cleaner to vacuum the bottom of the inside of my fireplace. 5 minutes, tops! $150 ( and he refused to deduct the $90 paid for the estimate!).
I had thought a chimney sweep would involve looking at the entire inside of the chimney, and he said no- that would cost an extra $1000! I declined. To add insult to injury, he offered to remove the logs in the fireplace for me he had admired on the first visit.
