Wow, extremely busy local seafood restaurant. Arrived on Saturday night without a reservation and waited only ten minutes for a table. They had a port hole on both sides of the dining room with moving water. A few of the meals were market price and had to ask the server who needed to smile more but was attentive. The grilled mahi-mahi was excellent and the crispy fries were good too. Not too many places have great cole slaw but this one was sweet with a nice texture. The gender assigned bathroom had basic decor with a posted Ecolab hand soaping instruction guide. Hey, every little bit helps when trying to keep a sanitary kitchen and dining room.

This place was cool. Came on a Friday night and barely waited 10 mins which was awesome. It was packed with people. Everyone is close together but nobody bothered us. Our food came quickly after ordering. We just got some apps and drinks. Everything was really good! Deff a great stop to grab some seafood!

So The Fish House was a bright spot in an otherwise uninspiring culinary experience during our most recent trip to the Florida Keys, The restaurant itself has some serious homegrown Florida vibes with many unique decorations and accoutrements all over the restaurant, loosely pirate themed. It was featured on Diners Drive In's and Dives as well. We were seated in a little alcove near the entrance which gave our group a private space. Service was prompt and friendly and we really enjoyed the whole thing. I got the mahi mahi maracumbe style, which was recommended by our server as a house specialty. It did not disappoint! It was light, flavorful, and quite surprisingly really one of the most delicious fish dishes I've ever had at a restaurant. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. We had key lime pie with meringue for desert which was also fabulous. Overall it lived up to the hype. Five stars

The only positive thing I can say about Fish House is that the staff was friendly and the service was quick. Unfortunately, good service can't make up for prices that are completely out of touch with reality. I came here expecting fresh local seafood, not sticker shock. We spent nearly $100 for two people, one appetizer, and absolutely no alcoholic beverages. That's outrageous for what we received. The Snapper Fish & Chips was especially disappointing. Over $40 for a fish-and-chips basket is ridiculous, regardless of what type of fish is being used. It's not as if you're serving a massive portion of fish. The sautéed snapper tasted better, but even that dish felt overpriced, especially when it's being served with rice and beans. What makes it even harder to understand is that this is the Florida Keys, surrounded by water and known for seafood. Yet the menu prices make it feel like the fish was flown in from another continent. The quality simply doesn't justify the cost. I don't mind paying premium prices for an exceptional meal. What I do mind is paying premium prices for average portions and ordinary food. Fish House has friendly employees and fast service, but those positives aren't enough to overcome the absurd pricing. There are too many other restaurants in the Keys offering better value. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a reasonably priced seafood meal.

Jerked Mahi Sandwich, with a side of coleslaw

Flying in to Florida that morning, our Day 1 lunch was at The Fish House. Arriving at 11:30am on a Saturday, we were immediately seated and given menus. My wife picked the fried cracked conch and fries while I selected the Jamaican jerk mango mahi sandwich with a side of coleslaw, and we both had waters. We all enjoyed the nautical novelty theme of the dining room, and felt badly for whomever had to change the bulbs in the hundreds of lights running across the ceiling. The video 'port holes' were also a fresh new twist. The tables were very close together, and it was difficult to go to the restroom without bumping into someone. Speaking of the restrooms, my wife and I both hated the coconut salt soap you had to spoon up to wash your hands. Our food was ready pretty quickly, and everyone agreed it was good to very good. My blackened mahi was -as advertised- lightly blackened without being overpowered, and tasted very good, and likewise with the coleslaw. My wife said her fried cracked conch was flavourful and good, but not as tender as she has enjoyed elsewhere. Service was a bit slow, and getting water refills took some time, as did getting our bills. Pros: décor, fresh seafood selection, good to very good flavours Cons: fresh seafood is always expensive (even in the Florida), slow-ish service, everyone touching the same soap spoon in the restroom squicked us all out Overall we found The Fish House to be Good, and would return.

Dec. 2025 We were here ten months ago and sat inside. It was crowded back then, and again this time during the Christmas season. This place has gotten some upgrades to their outdoor patio with a mobile bar with overly loud music and portable toilets which is nice since there is only one toilet inside for each gender, but the two servers outside were overwhelmed with people and weren't very attentive for the outside space. The lobster bisque was horrible with no lobster flavor and was an amalgamation of gelatinous roux. Do not get. The clam chowder was not fresh either and tasted like it was from a can. It just seems that the attention to detail on homemade items is just not there. I'll not waste your time reading about all the poor food preparation and how inattentive our server was. I'll not come back until I know their food and their servers are better. Might be a year or two as there are plenty of other places to enjoy a good meal.

We had an OK experience at The Fish House... lots of glitz and glitter, but we food the food mostly lacking... with a couple of exceptions! We had cocktails (coconut martini and Cadillac margaritas), both good. Appetizers included the crab cake and smoked fish appetizer... crab cake, average, fresh, but we prefer the NE lump crab style. Smoked fish, while unique, we found it underwhelming. Entrees included the fried seafood combo and the matecumbe yellowfin. Most of the fried seafood was old, overcooked. Exception the fried scallops, they were outstanding! Similarly, the yellowfin matecumbe was fantastic. Those two seafoods were exceptional. Desserts included coconut ice cream, frozen ice cube of coconut, and coconut key lime pie. Not sure what was on top of the pie, but the putty, spongy pink topped coconut was weird. A couple of hits, mostly misses. Cannot recommend you visit.

Came here specifically for the key lime pie! It was highly recommended! The ambiance here is really cute. A lot of people visiting but it worked like a fine oiled machine. Service was fast and they had more than enough workers to run the place. I ordered at the register. This was my first key lime in the keys. And it didn't disappoint! Most people don't like the meringue but I LOVED IT. Can't wait to get another the next trip!

We stopped for lunch on our way down to Key West. The gravel parking is plentiful and sets the stage for the tasty lunch we had. The restaurant is vintage and you really feel the atmosphere as you walk to the door. The inside is cool and dark. The waiter greeted us with a smile and pointed us to a booth quickly! The menu is just what I expected from a highway adjacent, watering hole in Key Largo! We quickly agreed on the fried clam strips and the peel and eat shrimp. They were both delicious! I had the iced tea, but the cold beer selection looked very tempting. The food arrived quickly and it was delish! When we walked out we were full and happy facing the long drive to the Southernmost point in the US!

We came for an early dinner on a Saturday and were seated quickly. The staff work as a team to make sure all tables are attended, which is nice. The fish and steak we had were both cooked to order and nice and hot when they arrived, unfortunately the side dishes were not and the French fries in particular were cold. Overall, the food had a good flavor and the restaurant matched the laidback vibe of the Keys.

Fresh Fish from local fisherman filleted in house and you can taste the difference. Classic fish house vibe and nautical decor, lively crowd this is not a quiet spot. No reservations its 1st come 1st served opens at 11am we arrived shortly thereafter and was seated promptly.Service was fast and friendly and our server went over the offerings clearly and plainly, he is also a charter boat captain which added to the authentic feel, once we ordered the food was served within 10 minutes. Our orders consisted of Yellowfin,Lobster Bisque,Ceviche, Shrimp, Fish Sandwich and fries all fresh, crispy and flavorful. Our Dessert the Key Lime Pie had us mmm-ing and ahhh-ing with every bite a great finish to our meal. They also have a Fish market available to pickup and take home some fresh seafood if able. Prices and mid to upper level but was well worth it for the quality and experience we had while visiting.

Don't let the looks fool you -- like most spots in the Keys, it's a little dated inside, but the service and food more than make up for it. We walked in with fresh fish from our trip, and before we even sat down, our waitress grabbed it and got things rolling. She gave us a bunch of options for how we wanted it cooked, which was super helpful. We went with blackened tuna, grilled mahi with lemon butter, and fried snapper -- and they absolutely nailed it. Everything was cooked perfectly. If you're fishing in the Keys, this is the spot to bring your catch. They'll cook it up exactly how you like it. Super chill vibe, great food, and good service. Would definitely go back.

Food is always excellent and FRESH. Yellowfin tuna or buffalo shrimp appetizers. Great service, ask For Q! Peanut butter martini is a dream, yum! Love the laid back atmosphere of the keys but with delicious fresh food that never disappoints. This is a regular stop for us whenever in the keys.

The hollandaise sauce was atypical as it tasted like there was cheese in it. The smoked salmon on a bagel tasted okay, but fell apart when it was picked up. The breakfast burrito lacked a lot of flavor. The blueberry pancake, although slightly overcooked, was actually very good. The bacon and fried potatoes were not crisp, as I prefer them. So if you like crispy bacon and fried potatoes, ask for that when placing your order. The windows and floors are dirty and the women's bathroom had a round hole with a dirty sock stuck in it on the floor. I actually tripped over it. And the bathroom could have been much cleaner. With a few improvements, Sharkeys could be more appealing to tourists going through and visiting the Keys.

One thing you'll notice pretty quickly in the Keys is that many restaurants close fairly early, and this one closes at 10 p.m., so we always make sure to get there in time. I've eaten at both the bar and at a table. This year, since my nephew was with us, we grabbed a table and enjoyed another great meal. My absolute favorite dish here is the fish topped with a generous portion of crab. It is absolutely incredible! Funny enough, years ago I actually ordered the pistachio-crusted fish, but the kitchen accidentally brought me the fish with crab instead. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed by that mistake! On this trip, I finally tried the pistachio-crusted fish, and it was delicious too. My nephew couldn't stop talking about the seafood linguine. It was loaded with seafood, and he absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of dining here. The waterfront views are beautiful, and you can choose to sit under the tiki hut or kick off your shoes and enjoy the sand beneath your feet. It's such a relaxing place to unwind after a day in the Keys. We've also had the coconut shrimp, which comes with an amazing dipping sauce that I'd definitely recommend. For drinks, I tried their espresso martini for the first time. They add cocoa to it, which I've never seen before. It definitely caught me by surprise, but in a good way. I always enjoy when a bartender puts a creative spin on a classic cocktail instead of making the same version everyone else serves.
