I have been buying fish here for over a decade. The fish is always fresh, and most are locally caught. They have everything from blow fish to striped bass. Now they have a sushi chef, making fresh sushi behind a counter in the middle of the store. Their rice pudding is the best one I have ever tasted on Long Island. It is creamy, flavorful and hearty. Take out service is quick. I usually get my fried food orders within 10 minutes. In 2023 The Fish Store won the Bethpage FCU's Best of Long Island award for best fish market on Long Island. I highly recommend.

Came here for restaurant week because it was one of the more diverse menus. It's a small place at the back of a fish store, but no wait on a weekend night so big plus for us! The service was fantastic, promptly seated, nice staff, never waited for water refills etc. We did the restaurant week menu and started off with the baked clams and bacon wrapped scallop. We also ordered crab cakes off the regular menu. Bacon wrapped scallops were really good, my friend doesn't even eat scallops and she enjoyed them. The baked clams were also good and so was the crab cake. For dinner I had the shrimp scampi which was over bucatini pasta. Good but I hate to say it was a little lacking. Lots of garlic and portion size was huge, but it needed some lemon and wine reduction in the recipe. It was executed well (pasta was cooked well, shrimp cooked well) but a bit bland. My hubby said the same when I brought home the leftovers. My friend got the crab stuffed salmon, which was good. It was a unique dish and we split it and enjoyed it. For dessert we had the cheesecake which was amazing, and the raspberry tart--also really good. Overall I'm glad we came and tried everything, the price is right, and if I'm in the neighborhood again I would definitely consider coming and trying other dishes.

Absolutely consistent, a true old fashioned fish shop located and nestled alongside Montauk hwy Bring a cooler unlike me lol They'll give you ice From platters ( shrimp, lobster, crab) to take away delights and soup A must try

Two words. Rice pudding. The best homemade rice pudding around - I know super random at a fish store? But that's right you heard it here - BEST rice pudding around. Stopped in for restaurant week and I had nothing to complain about - lobster bisque was so fragrant I ordered it after seeing another table enjoying it. Took a little while for the food to come out but other than that great time. I miss masanori though... RIP

Service is wonderful! We had a nice early dinner. Will definitely be returning to try more things. My husband wanted to have a lobster roll so we came here. We started out with a dozen clams in garlic sauce then I ordered the seafood paella from the Special menu.

Walked in and was completely ignored, even though I was standing at the front counter. After a few minutes of this, I strolled on out.

Fantastic "Love Boat" for two. Take out dinner. Special rolls, with assorted Sashimi & Sushi.

It took almost 30 minutes just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes for soup, another 30 minutes for the calamari appetizer, and yet another 30 minutes for our main dish, which was just a lobster roll. What should have been a simple meal turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating wait. What made it worse was that our waitress didn't seem apologetic at all about how long everything was taking. In fact, she appeared much more attentive to the table next to us, who she seemed to know personally, while we were left waiting most of the time. To add to that, the water we asked for never even arrived. The experience ended on an uncomfortable note when we went to pay. Our card was flagged for possible fraud (likely because we're not from the area). While my husband was already pulling out cash to pay, a man wearing a beanie and chef jacket stood there in a pushy manner insisting we call the bank immediately while he waited. Between the extremely slow service, lack of attentiveness, and the uncomfortable payment interaction, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the trip and the time -- we should have listened to the reviews before making the drive.

I kept going back with fingers crossed hoping it was just temporary but this most recent visit IS MY LAST. Fish tacos are supposed to be wrapped in a corn or flour tortilla. They were wrapped in burrito wrap with one small piece of fish in each (see pic) no flavor. Cole slaw cost $5 in a tiny bowl - it was just small chunks of cabbage no flavor. My broiled seafood platter had no flavor. Plus waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. It was busy but not overcrowded. I didn't bother telling server - she was nice. I just knew it would be our last time dining here. Doesn't make sense to recommend this place anymore.

We started with some oysters, which were the freshest oysters I've ever had. The oyster menu had a good variety of sizes and salinities. The Manhattan clam chowder was SO GOOD. I normally don't approve of soup in the summer but this is a must try no matter what season it is. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share so we could try a little bit of everything. Sicilian calamari was cooked to perfection and perfectly tender. Loved that it was sautéed because it's a little lighter than fried, but I definitely want to try the fried calamari next time we come here. Seared ahi tuna was also some of the best I've ever had. I don't even like swordfish but the blackened swordfish special completely changed my mind. They have different specials every day and I don't think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu. The atmosphere is very laid back, and everyone was so friendly. It's family owned and operated, and you can tell they really care. There were lots of regulars, which says a lot. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for food this good. We'll definitely be coming back. Hands down the best oyster bar in Long Island.

All drinks standard or fancy come out cold and tasty to accompany that barside snack or full lunch/dinner meal. Servers don fun T-shirts with catchy sayings buzzing around smiling serving it up. Everytime I have dined here they have been very attentive, sometimes overly, but in good spirits just making sure you have everything you wanted and needed, on top of keeping things neat/clean. This outing was for my Mr's Birthday, so appetizer, entrées and dessert. We started with the Crab Spinach and Artichoke dip with chips as we waited for entrée selections. It was served up creamy in a bread bowl stuffed with crab, spinach and artichoke, super tasty and great start. The Mr ordered up the Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail with a bechamel sauce. Noted the flavors were good, but next time would order bechamel sauce on side so there was more control of it not overwhelming the fresh protein with every initial bite. Mentioned the Roasted Potatoes and Corn that accompanied it were nicely cooked and not overly seasoned. Personally opted to double down on the crab side of things and snagged myself one of their Crab cake sandwiches on a pretzel roll. With each bite you knew the crab cake was freshly made not a frozen premade puck. It easily smashed down quickly with each bite, with good fresh crab flavor, not just breadcrumbs, like you might experience elsewhere ;) Also noted their pretzel bun was soft, airy with good classic pretzel flavor without the hard/tough exterior crunch. Noting that in the past I have also ordered up their fresh Tuna Steak entrée which is also a delicious entrée option. Finished off the meal with a menu fan favorite Chocolate Lava Cake, as my Mr is always hoping for it to truly lava out. Will say Harbor Crab definitely has come the closest in sense of it sorta flowing out when cut into. I assured the birthday boy that he should know the texture, taste were indeed on point, even if it didn't fully lava out ;) All in all another great dining experience at this location as the quality of fresh seafood offerings, service, live music ambiance and atmosphere are on point. Totally understand why this has been a fan favorite for my Mr and others for years. Would highly recommend a visit to any seafood lover.
