Ordered some take-out tonight! I'd say it was a solid 4 star experience. My fiancé and I ordered steamed dumplings, shrimp and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken combo with pork fried rice. Each combo came with a choice of egg roll or soup. The dumplings were great! They had great flavor and the filling itself was generous of pork. The dumpling sauce was also good. My shrimp and broccoli combo was good and also had a generous amount of shrimp. I employed it, however the last 3 shrimp were a bit overcooked. My fiancé enjoyed his sweet and sour chicken. I love the New York Chinese food restaurants. Where, I currently live in Las Vegas, it is necessary to drive miles to enjoy New York style Chinese food that falls short of the food here. Fortunately, it was a close walk to my family home that I visited in July. This location has always been a Chinese Takeout. Going back to the early 1990s when Blockbuster and Dunkin Donuts operated in this shopping center, it was under different ownership. On Friday, July 23, 2023; we walked to Ching Hoi around 7:00 pm. We had earlier ate in the Holbrook Diner. We were up to having a light dinner. I ordered a quart of wonton soup ($4.95) and a shrimp egg roll ($2). Just like, I remember it from 1993, the ambiance is Chinese food takeout. It is a room with a counter, menu board, yellow walls, some decorations, and a couple of tables. I was impressed with the customer service. They welcomed us and cooked the food with attention to quality and timeliness. Without my brother and I asking, they have each of us a complimentary can of soda. When I returned home, my taste buds were impressed with the food. The quart of wonton soup was loaded with wontons and taste. The shrimp egg roll, which I have yet to find in Las Vegas was equally as delicious and precious. The next time that I return to the family house, I intend to return to Ching Hoi for a chicken or shrimp chow mein dinner. If I still lived nearby, there is a liklihood that I would be the Duke of Ching Hoi. read more

Visited Ching Hoi for the first time the other day and loved it. Beef chow fun was crazy good, broccoli was soft how I like it, and very flavorful. Lo Mein was the only thing that was average (had to add soy and duck sauce) This place is about 15 minutes away and I have like 3 chinese food places closer but I may go here. We just ordered delivery and Frank, who seemed to be super passionate about his food and service, not only took notice that this was our first time ordering delivery, but also sent over free friend wontons, delivered the order himself AND tried to refuse a tip!!! I told him to give the tip to his crew and I decided right then, before I had even taken our dinner out of the double bag, that the only place we were ordering g Chinese from from here on out was Ching Hoi. Speaking of the food, though, the fried won tons were bomb. Their pork fried rice is absolutely hands down the best around. We also got chicken & broccoli - above average...& white meat sesame chicken. Sauce is perfect but a little too heavy. White meat chicken is definitely yummy crunchy white meat. We got two egg rolls with our combos but we are so full we haven't tried them yet. If you're looking for great service, great food and INTEGRITY, this is your place. Update 2/13/18- Holy cow, I still think this is the best Chinese restaurant in the area; if not the state! I've ordered a bunch of times but today, my daughter is sick with strep throat and really wanted her favorite Chinese food. I placed an order and less than 30 minutes later, a kind man shows up at my door with hot food and refused a tip! He said as long as we enjoy the food, that's all that mattered. I love this place, it will continue to be my go-to! This is the best Chinese delivery place in Ronkonkoma. Their food arrives hot and fresh and tastes wonderful every time. I even have them saved as "the best fucking Chinese ever" in my phone. Portion sizes are great, I usually order sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, cheese wantons, and pork fried rice. One of the best Chinese food restaurants I've ever frequented hands down. The only minor complaint I can think of is that the portions are on the small side, but what they lack in portion size (which are honestly out of control in most places) they make up for in freshness, variety and taste. You can't go wrong to order the vegetable dumplings, the steamed jumbo shrimp with broccoli, or the General Tso's. Nothing is greasy or drowning is sauce, and even the simplest things are delicious. Not bad...not good. Got the fried dumplings and holy shot were they doughy. Too much dough. The rest of the dishes were exceedingly oily. The fried rice...the beef w/ broccoli.
