Most recently, we had our basement refinished, and Joe was wonderful and easy to work with, per usual. Since that install, the carpet has held up so well. And thats saying a lot seeing as we have a bunch of kiddos down most days! However, during recent floods in the area, part of our carpet was effected. Fortunately, my husband and I were able to pull it up and air it all out - but that of course left it no longer secure. Let me tell ya, Carpet Mill Outlet is so reliable. I called Joe and he sent someone out within a day or two to restretch and reinstall the whole side of the room that was affected. We were so, so appreciative! Within a week there was a loop exposed on one of the seams where the carpet edges meet. The owner came back and cut it off. Very nice for him to do a home visit, but I could've cut it off all by myself (and risked it fraying further without any help). I thought he'd do something more permanent and professional. A few months later there was another large loop coming up on a different seam and he said he'd come over and GLUE it. I figured I could do that too so didn't make him come. At any rate, it's still unglued and raveling off and I am frustrated with their work. The edges are uneven around the fireplace and it's just plain shoddy workmanship.

I told her what I was looking for, and she called for another staff member to take me to the type of flooring I wanted. He took me to that section and explained that there were three categories that they carried and what the differences were. I found the prices to be comparable with other stores I visited for similar flooring. I bought a sample of the plank for $5 to take home and see how it would look in my bathroom. He also told me that if I only end up needing two boxes, I can return the third box, if it wasn't opened, for a refund. That worked for me! Two days later, I went back to buy the flooring. Same staff member working the register remembered me. I told her I was ready to buy and gave her the SKU number that I took a photo of two days prior. She called another staff member over to retrieve three boxes of the planks for me. He also loaded them into my car. It was the easiest buying experience I've ever had. Although, I was probably the easiest customer they've had to help. Yes, it helped that I already researched what type of flooring I wanted, but I'm sure they would have helped me get to that point if needed. I was there about 15-20 minutes the first day, and maybe 5 minutes the second day. I was impressed with the non-pushy, laid-back, helpful, and friendly approach by all three staff members that helped me. We found the Rock Ridge Ledger Stone we were looking for in the back of the store, and snagged six boxes to start with. I'd definitely call the pricing reasonable. My only caveat is that both the staff members we spoke to didn't seem to be the most knowledgable on product. We were looking for the best sealant, and each of them didn't seem too sure on the best recommendation. Good thing I have dad on speed dial who knows the ropes of renovation! We'd certainly return to Floors & Decor for future tile and flooring needs. I see a bathroom remodel in my future...!

We recently had Heartwood Custom Floors install new flooring in a previously sunken living room…read morethat we had a carpenter raise up. Dillion was the second installer that we talked to and we were immediately impressed with him. He was very personable and very knowledgeable of his craft. He provided an estimate with a detailed explanation of the scope of work within 2 days after our first meeting. We chose Heartwood Custom Floors over the larger established and well known competitor that we first talked to. The flooring that we needed (ash and cherry) was a special order and was delivered within the timeline that Dillion had given us and the installation began on the day he scheduled. We were told by Dillion that his brother Eric would be doing the install and just like with Dillion we were immediately impressed with Eric. Our flooring needed to installed on a diagonal to coordinate with the rest of the 40 year old flooring in our house and it needed to be done within a cherry wood border. Diagonal install is more tedious and time consuming. Eric got right to work on the project and after many hours of hard work the new wood was perfectly installed. Eric was conscientious about the color of new wood looking as good as could be with the surrounding older floor and showed us 6 different stain possibilities, one of which was custom blended and was just right. Eric also refurbished a cherry border that was in our dining room without having to redo the rest of the floor in there. Our project was completely done within the timeline provided to us. We couldn't be happier with the final results. We would not hesitate to use Heartwood Custom Flooring again and highly recommend them.
