In regards to the Hardwood Floor Restoration Division. Quoted $497.00 to clean floors delayed 5 days then told floors needed to be refinised at a cost of $1900.00. Being a authorized Bona applicator and speaking with Bona directly several times and consulting several other floor refinishers he should know. My floors should never ever be refinished...... I feel he tried to sell me something $1500.00 more than I needed. I would never trust these people or recommend them EVER.... CROOKS read more

Ordered my hardwood flooring from them. It came in quickly and they called me to load it up and take it away. I had to drive it to San Jose from Concord. Staff was very diligent and listened to my myriad of questions about the finish and how to lay it down. Overall staff did a good job and the warehouse person who loaded my truck was very nice and helpful. The prices were very good and we did price compare. But overall they gave us better service than the other places we tried and we felt some loyalty to them for that. We also purchased the vapor barrier and the trim pieces too. Later the next week we purchased Marble and grout for the downstairs bathroom. We are very pleased with their service and products. read more

It seemed like after they sold us the flooring they were no longer interested in speaking with us -- had a hard time scheduling the installation and getting some follow up work done after our flooring was installed. The salesperson actually recommended I call the installer myself to get the flooring installed. So much for customer service. read more

This was the fourth time I've purchased carpet for my living room in 16 years. It was the more expensive by about 35% and within months became the worst carpet I have ever purchased. We explained to the sales person that we needed something that would hold up well since it's the main way in, out and around our home. We were told that this Mohawk carpet was tested with elephants and fit our needs. Within a few months I thought it was looking dirty. So, I scheduled a carpet cleaning only to find out it wasn't dirty but corn rowing and showing excessive wear. I called the store and they sent an "independent" person to do an analysis. The bottom line was that the manufacturer's warranty does not cover corn rowing. Convenient since this is what that carpet did and they had to know it would. I spoke to the owner several times to give him an opportunity to rectify this problem since I purchased this carpet based on his sales person's recommendation. He passes the buck to Mohawk and around and around we go. I will never shop there again or buy Mohawk carpet. read more

After many years with a completely carpeted house, I decided to install hardwood flooring everywhere. I initially went to a large, but relatively local flooring store. While they had a large inventory of flooring samples, the only assistance I received was in checking flooring samples in and out. All of my attempts to ask questions about the various options were met with very superficial answers that didn't help me at all. In those instances, I had to try to get an answer with no one attempting to help me out. With this disappointing experience behind me, I tried The Floor Store in Concord with some reluctance since they had many branches and looked to me like just another big box store. Over the space of the next several months I checked out many flooring samples encompassing solid hardwood, engineered hardwood and laminate. During this entire process I found the entire staff to be very helpful in terms of answering my many questions as well as giving me information on questions that I hadn't even asked. When I say the entire staff, I mean both the person who handled my account plus other people there who were just trying to be helpful. In December I placed an order for engineered hardwood flooring for the entire house. The Floor Store was completely accommodating in terms of delivery and installation times. I did have some major concerns about the quality of the installation from a large store like this. My concerns were put to rest on the first day when I had the opportunity to discuss the entire installation with the person who was going to be doing the work, He happily answered all of my questions and then went on to ask specific questions about various details. This back and forth interaction with the installers productively went on throughout the entire process At the end of the installation, I was more satisfied with the final result than I would have believed possible. In large measure this was because of exceptional service that I received, the various options that I was able to explore and the highly individualized and personal attention that I received. Worked with Judy to obtain engineered hardwood flooring to match the existing flooring in my house. Judy said she would contact the distributors and then call me the next day. She did not. I called her back after several days to remind her. She said she would call me right back. She did not. Apparently following through with her promises is not part of her agenda. Usually with home improvement projects there is something to complain about or at least critique. Not in this case. Two components involved with Tarik Mellali involved in both. First was the choice and purchase of flooring. We opted for extensive tile work in virtually all of the living areas of our home. Tarik found tile at a fair price that was quality material and provided the right look for the home. Second was installation by Miguel and his team coordinated by Tarik. Miguel was on time every day and perhaps the hardest working and most precise craftsman I have observed, and his various team members did fine work as well. With Miguel and team in the house every day for over a week it was a pleasure having such cheerful workers around who obviously took pride in what they did and kept the house and outside work areas tidy and as clean as feasible. Of course Tarik followed up during and after installation to see that all had gone well. Bedrooms to be re-carpeted soon and certain where we will shop. read more

I recently visited The Floor Store in Concord to see about purchasing some floating hardwood for our hallway. Stephanie showed me all of my options and helped me to pick out some suitable flooring. We ordered the wood it was delivered and installed accordingly. Unfortunately we were not thrilled with the outcome. We felt the wood didn't fit together as well as it should, and were unhappy with the result. I contacted Tarik, the manager of the Floor Store. He was sympathetic to my concerns and he and the wood manufacturers representative came to look at it. It was determined that the wood was defective and my flooring was replaced with new wood. I am pleased with the new installation and with the attentive customer service at the Floor Store. I would recommend them very highly. read more

We worked with Tiffany to get carpet installed on first floor of our home to prep for the sale of the home. Tiffany worked with me to balance looks, feel, and budget to maximize our return during the sale. She was super helpful and helped me find carpet that was in stock for quick install and looked/felt great. With one hiccup we got the scheduling done fairly easily. Issue ultimately was communication of measurements and a phone issue beyond their control. Installers came in as planned and did a wonderful job! They worked very hard at getting the seams handled as invisibly as possible and tucked under the baseboards with minimal damage to freshly painted walls. They really worked to make us happy. Very professional team I wish they worked in the city we are moving to so I could use them for the new home. TIffany has also been helpful as I try to isolate options for the new carpet even though there is no sale for her. She is just a great resource and I appreciate all of her help! read more

I'll keep it simple. Ordered flooring, and received call floor was in. At floor store now. No one at store is able to fetch the order for me. They keep saying the guy is at lunch. Time now being wasted. (So only one person has the ability to grab my order?) that's pretty sorry. My time is worth money. Coming up on 30 min and still waiting. I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted and what I could afford to remodel my kitchen. After talking with Sonya one of the sales reps she said if I didn't see anything in my price range then I could go and pick out the granite at the warehouse. So I did and found something that was called the ECO VALUE.., I found a beautiful Romano White w/grey & a very light lavender going thru it. I finally had it installed by their guys and the kitchen turned out awesome. The head of the crew was Tony and he was very good to work with. They were polite and clean, put extra runners on my carpet and kept busy. Everything is complete and I'm very happy with their service. For anyone looking for floor tiles and integrity in the business, these people do not have it. If something is wrong, they put you off, don't followup, dismiss the complaint, act as if they don't have any interest. I called the manager 6 weeks in a row and NEVER received one call back from him regarding the tile I purchased and the problem with it after it was installed. I've now contact Armstrong Industries to see what they have to do since these tiles have a "lifetime residential warranty." Be advised, if you do business with this store and it's manager, Robert Capps, you are at risk and throwing your hard earned dollars away and being dissatisfied with the product they "highly recommended." read more

Sonya Delima was terrific to work with, and patiently explained all the different options, and allowed us to take samples home, with absolutely no pressure. Where do I begin! My wife and I purchased almost 1000 square feet of laminate flooring for our brand new house. Prior to this, We had been shopping for a while comparing prices and brands! We finally settled on a nice Mohawk floor for an excellent price. The floor was ordered and arrived within the timeframe stated by the Floor Store staff. However, shortly after installation we began to notice scratches all over our bran new floors, did I mention we have 3 indoor dogs!! At the time of purchase the employees at the floor store ensured us the floors we purchased were pet safe and more than capable of handling our pets! Needless to say, our floors looked like crap almost immediately after installation! Within days we brought this issue up with Tarik, who is the manager of the Store! Tarik was extremely professional and listened to our concern as though we were talking about his own house! I am happy to say the floor stare just replaced 100% of our floors with a brand new, upgraded version of what we had before. This did not happen over night, in fact it took 8 months to go through the process, but Tarik was there every step of the way. He was a constant advocate for us that payed off in the end! The Floor Store was by far the best choice in flooring for us after researching other local flooring providers. The show room in Concord is big and spacious with lots of options to consider. Their prices are also the best in town for the quality of product and installation work you're getting. We worked with Tarik, one of the floor managers, to install hardwood floors, tile and carpet in our newly purchased home. He was very professional and communicative and the work was installed on time before our move-in date. We originally placed an order for laminate flooring but it turned out after purchasing everything the laminate flooring we chose was no longer being manufactured so Tarik worked with us to pick something comparable in color/design and we ended up getting hardwood for the same price. It was a little stressful at the time but considering we now have hardwood floors we're very pleased. We love our new floors and the installers did a great job. I recently decided to replace the vinyl flooring in my kitchen with laminate. I worked with Judy at the store and she was a delight. She helped me find exactly what I had in mind and the installation was done promptly. The installers were polite, neat, and quiet. When they finished on time, my kitchen glowed...it looked like a brand new room. I am thrilled with the result. I am now doing carpet in 3 rooms, and getting the same fine treatment from Judy. Our first experience with The Floor Store was five stars all the way. We put laminate flooring in one room. We feel we got an excellent price, great customer service, and the installation went smoothly. In fact the installation crew was amazing and highly professional. We liked our new floor so much we decided to put it in the hallway and living room. Again, we got great customer service and a great price. The reason I didn't give five stars is because of the installation on the second round of flooring. Only one installer showed up which made our one day job turn into two days. I was not intending on taking a second day off...on day 2 there was still only one installer. This guy worked so hard to get the job finished. There were a couple small pieces of moulding not installed and the transitions to the carpeted areas were sloppy. But when I called the Floor Store they sent the installer out again to fix it. It is all done now with the exception of one piece if moulding that never got installed. My husband will have to do that. Overall, I would highly recommend The Floor Store. I think our installation problem was an isolated event. You will get good customer service and beautiful floors if you go to The Floor Store. read more
