Now, in this day and age, being at the top of the search results just means that you have a good Online Marketing and SEO person on board, but the name "The Floor Store" implied a certain degree of specialization that big box stores lack, so we decided to give it a look. We were met at the front counter by Sherri, who was of invaluable assistance to us simply by helping us clarify to ourselves what it was that we actually wanted. She showed us everything we asked to see, and once we made our budget clear, she did not try to upsell or pressure us in any way. Any and all wildly impractical ideas were solely our own. She walked us through all the options that were in our budget (multiple times), cheerfully answered every question we asked (each question was asked multiple times), and was, in general, wonderfully knowledgeable and helpful. Finally, she gave us a really good deal on the floor we eventually got. When it came time to install, the guys who did it were incredibly fast, polite, and as respectful of our home as you could ask for. In summary, if you're looking to replace your floors, The Floor Store will definitely not be a waste of your time. Show up and ask for Sherri. You won't regret it. read more

We took some samples home 3 different times, each time Stephnie helped us. We finally chose the maker and color and made a large purchase. If I can I would not give any star to this store because they are way way over priced, i experienced same result one year prior when I installed engineered wood they were over priced then I gave another chance and same results for carpet I walked out and save that extra $2000 and shops around trust me over priced they have no leg room at all, when I told the sales guys I have a quote from S and G he did not like it because he did not want to decrease his commission. I went to the floor store because I believed I would get better service than at a big lot store like Home Depot. Unfortunately that was not the case. I ordered my floors and was given an expected due date. When that date came and went without a call, I called them and learned my order was two months backdated. Having already lined up a contractor I was quite upset I had not been notified. When I had to order another T-molding, again I had to call and learned it had come in but they had not followed up to notify me. Although the wood is nice, it is a bit pricy and I expected much better customer service! read more

I had my entire home remodeled last year, everything turned out beautiful. I originally went to the Floor Store because of their reputation, I am so disappointed. I purchased laminate, they installed in October of last year, there were some flaws in the original installation, long story short they came out at least five different times to repair it and each time the flooring got worse. Also each time they came out I had to pack things up and move furniture, I had brand new base boards installed after the flooring was installed and they tore that out each time as well to the point of ruining my wood baseboards. They sent an independent inspector out to examine my floors, report came back that installation and flooring were defective. Flash forward over a year later, nothing has been done. Keep hearing we will get back to you....oh really when???? So very disappointed and would not recommend The Floor Store at all! read more

I loved working with Sherri DeLapp at The Floor Store in Concord. She was very knowledgeable about all of the products in the store, telling me about durability, product guarantees, what's in stock locally and what's going to look great in my house. She's very personable and we bonded instantly. But the reason why you need to talk to Sherri is because she saved me money. She said don't buy now, come back in two weeks when the store's anniversary sale begins. She also said don't buy THAT because it's too expensive and it doesn't look any better than THIS over here. She advised me to hire someone to move my furniture and pull the toilets before the installation team arrives because it's cheaper that way, she said. Sherri advised me on everything that I could do to save money. And she didn't hound me about paying my invoice; she just let it ride until it was convenient for me to pay. By the time we finished the project, it felt like I was talking to family. We've worked together on two flooring projects already because Sherri is a down-home girl that has your best interest at heart. read more

We worked with the Antioch Floor Store location for several projects but this was my first time with the Concord location. The project was replacing my large master bathroom floor which involved laying new plywood over the existing floor (going from carpet to luxury vinyl tile) and removing carpet and tile from the bathroom. I hadn't heard of LVT before and originally was looking to install a click style flooring. After hearing about LVT, we went with that .. Armstrong had the best colors as we were looking for a tile/stone look. They had tons of samples to help us make our choice. Our timing was right and we got to take advantage of a big sale. The installers were nice to work with and they did a great job! They even came up with a piece of trim after they realized it didn't get ordered. Stephanie helped us out and she rocks! We just finished having luxury vinyl plank floors installed in the complete downstairs and the upper hall including the master bedroom of our home. It came out gorgeous and we are so glad we choose Floor Store. We worked with Sherri DeLapp during the whole project and can't even describe how wonderful she made the whole experience. I couldn't decide on the color and even though I made MANY trips to take and return samples, she always had a smile and offered great suggestions. Disappointed in this Floor Store location. Had good experiences with the store in Marin, but Concord is not service oriented. First salesperson never called me back with requested information. I found the info myself online in about 5 mins. Person #2 quoted me a price; when I called back, another person quoted a price at 2x of the original price. When I challenged him, he said,"oh, I see" and then offered the original price. This was during the holiday sale period, but I did not get a sale price. I felt like I was being cheated. Having ordered the tile, I did not receive a call that it was ready for pick up. Three weeks later, I called to check. I will not return. Not worth the hassle. read more

We went to the Floor Store looking for new flooring for the whole downstairs of our house. We were so fortunate to get Stephanie as our salesperson. She is so nice and accommodating, helpful and never pushy. We took so many different samples back and forth. We finally picked one and ordered over 900 sq feet of Marazzi tile. The tile came in and we started our remodel. 300 feet into the remodel our tile guys noticed the remaining tile was all damaged with a white imprint on our black tile. Darren the Marazzi rep. was so rude and unhelpful. In came Tarik, the Floor Store manager to the rescue. He told me he was sorry and would "make this right" for us. We re-ordered the tile, but it was also damaged. Then we decided to switch to Daltile tile. Tarik rushed the order and we now have beautiful tile throughout our downstairs. Tarik was always professional, called every few days to keep me posted on the progress (even on his days off), he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and that our remodel didn't get postponed for any longer than it had to be. This could have been a nightmare situation for us. Tarik and Stephanie's patience, understanding and amazing customer service was what made this process tolerable. I would recommend the Floor Store to everyone. They have a beautiful showroom was so many wonderful choices. And they have the best staff there! read more

If I could give them NEGATIVE 10 stars, I would. Literally the **WORST** experience of my entire remodel. I will NEVER shop there again, and here's why: We purchased a large quantity of multiple types of tile for our bathroom remodel. When we picked up our order and brought it back home, we found that they had ordered us the wrong tile. Not only that, but they had also mixed up the quantities needed for the floor and the walls. When we brought the tile back to the store, they refused to refund us - even though the mistake was theirs - because the box, "Had been opened." (How else were we supposed to figure out if the entire order was wrong? Just sayin'.) They then claimed that they couldn't refund us even if they wanted to because the original order was a, "Special order" (it wasn't - the original tile we ordered was in-stock. We even spoke about that fact with the sales woman.) Of course we asked to speak to the manager, but he was conveniently, "Out to lunch." Every. Single. Time we called. No matter what time of day. I attempted to reach out MULTIPLE times, but somehow I continually, "Just missed him." It's been six months, and we still have not received a return call. Thank God I wasn't holding my breath. Eventually, after months of getting the run around, we came to the conclusion that we had been (royally) screwed. We knew that if we ever wanted the job done, we'd have to cut our losses. So we donated the (exceptionally large batch) of wrong tile and found better flooring at a REPUTABLE dealer. Through no fault of our own, we essentially payed to redo a single bathroom not once, but twice. Let that sink in. If you enjoy lighting wads of cash on fire because of the mistakes of incompetent twits, then you should definitely shop at The Floor Store. If you don't mind tossing fistfuls of hard-earned money out the window while doing 80 on the freeway, then you should definitely shop at The Floor Store. If you like the feeling of wasting your limited time, effort, and money while the rich tools get even richer, then by all means - continue shopping at The Floor Store. If, on the other hand, you expect to get what you pay for and not be used and abused like the neighborhood rental car... then do yourself a favor and DON'T give your business to The Floor Store. read more

Location of The Floor Store is not practical, actually pretty hidden.Walking into the store there was like five people total, three of which were employees. The man that greeted us was a tall hefty man, with green eyes who reeked of cigarettes. Right off the bat the man did not look too interested in helping us. The employee did stare at my fathers attire from head to toe before approaching us, mind you, my father is a general contractor and he worked that particular day so he was a little dirty. After I noticed the store associate's behavior I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, which was in vein. As the store clerk and I spoke about the products my father and I were shopping for, he sadly suggested a cheaper substitute. The man never asked about my budget so I was rather disappointed that based on our appearance or perhaps because my father and I were speaking another language the associate may have assumed we could not afford the products that we initially asked for. Either way it is obvious that the store associates sales commission driven because there is no reason to dismiss client opinions, or look displeased when certain customers walk into the store. My father and I at constantly remodel homes, and shop at various locations, so the only reason we went to The Floor Store is because it was traffic hour and other stores are not open as late as 7pm like this location. The only positive thing about The Floor store is that they have a FEW nice mosaic pieces, but other than that, you are better off buying the products elsewhere, and buying directly from distributors, this way you will avoid disheartening customer service and not over pay for flooring. read more

I was so pleased with my experience at the Floor Store. My husband and I were remodeling a downstairs family room and bathroom that is just inside from the pool, so we needed to use tile, but we wanted the look of wood. We had a very specific style in mind and Tiffany worked patiently with us to find just the right tile. By the time we finally decided on the tile, she made sure we got a discount that was just about to expire - we appreciated the extra effort. Even better, the installers, Jeremy and Joe, were such a pleasure to work with and did an amazing job. They were so courteous, professional, and clean and really made the floor look gorgeous. Not sure what's up, but after reading all the reviews, we were expecting some good service; however, that has not been the case. While in the store, the lack of customer service (on a Tuesday afternoon) was shameful (they were NOT busy). We asked for the price of some of the flooring and the person helping us left to check ... approximately 10 minutes later, we went to the counter since we were still waiting. Apparently, even the workers don't know the flooring prices so they have to call the dealer? Now had someone just come over to us to say, sorry it's taking a while, but we'll be back with you shortly -- that would have helped. Anyway, we liked the floor and decided to move forward to have someone come take measurements. No problem here, except for when the woman measuring needed to look up our order, she couldn't find anything. Not impressed and if I need floors again some day, I will not be returning. read more

The Floor Store was such a pleasure to shop. Their store is clean, organized and very knowledgable sales staff. I needed to upgrade a laundry room floor from old, cracked linoleum. I liked their luxury vinyl squares that look like stone but no grout lines to deal with when cleaning up spilled stuff. Also it's 100% waterproof incase of machines leaking! Reggie was my salesperson and did an excellent job. Even expedited a trim piece that was holding up my project on his day off. Angel and Escobar did an EXCELLENT job installing. They were quick and tidy. Pulled off the baseboards with ease and caulked when they reinstalled them. Very professional and cleaned up thoroughly leaving the laundry room spotless. After many years with a completely carpeted house, I decided to install hardwood flooring everywhere. I initially went to a large, but relatively local flooring store. While they had a large inventory of flooring samples, the only assistance I received was in checking flooring samples in and out. All of my attempts to ask questions about the various options were met with very superficial answers that didn't help me at all. In those instances, I had to try to get an answer with no one attempting to help me out. With this disappointing experience behind me, I tried The Floor Store in Concord with some reluctance since they had many branches and looked to me like just another big box store. Over the space of the next several months I checked out many flooring samples encompassing solid hardwood, engineered hardwood and laminate. During this entire process I found the entire staff to be very helpful in terms of answering my many questions as well as giving me information on questions that I hadn't even asked. When I say the entire staff, I mean both the person who handled my account plus other people there who were just trying to be helpful. In December I placed an order for engineered hardwood flooring for the entire house. The Floor Store was completely accommodating in terms of delivery and installation times. I did have some major concerns about the quality of the installation from a large store like this. My concerns were put to rest on the first day when I had the opportunity to discuss the entire installation with the person who was going to be doing the work, He happily answered all of my questions and then went on to ask specific questions about various details. This back and forth interaction with the installers productively went on throughout the entire process At the end of the installation, I was more satisfied with the final result than I would have believed possible. In large measure this was because of exceptional service that I received, the various options that I was able to explore and the highly individualized and personal attention that I received. Worked with Judy to obtain engineered hardwood flooring to match the existing flooring in my house. Judy said she would contact the distributors and then call me the next day. She did not. I called her back after several days to remind her. She said she would call me right back. She did not. Apparently following through with her promises is not part of her agenda. This place is huge and offers a wide variety of flooring (wood, tile, carpet, etc). It's a good place to start if you're just starting to look. The staff is more "sales" than product info types. We ended up using them for shower tiles and our contractor got a good price from them. Usually with home improvement projects there is something to complain about or at least critique. Not in this case. Two components involved with Tarik Mellali involved in both. First was the choice and purchase of flooring. We opted for extensive tile work in virtually all of the living areas of our home. Tarik found tile at a fair price that was quality material and provided the right look for the home. Second was installation by Miguel and his team coordinated by Tarik. Miguel was on time every day and perhaps the hardest working and most precise craftsman I have observed, and his various team members did fine work as well. With Miguel and team in the house every day for over a week it was a pleasure having such cheerful workers around who obviously took pride in what they did and kept the house and outside work areas tidy and as clean as feasible. Of course Tarik followed up during and after installation to see that all had gone well. Bedrooms to be re-carpeted soon and certain where we will shop. read more

In regards to the Hardwood Floor Restoration Division. Quoted $497.00 to clean floors delayed 5 days then told floors needed to be refinised at a cost of $1900.00. Being a authorized Bona applicator and speaking with Bona directly several times and consulting several other floor refinishers he should know. My floors should never ever be refinished...... I feel he tried to sell me something $1500.00 more than I needed. I would never trust these people or recommend them EVER.... CROOKS read more
