I called several places to get a quote for some Mannington luxury vinyl planks and the Floor Store by far had the best prices, delivery times, and customer service. I got several quotes from S&G and flooring liquidators so I know that I definitely got the best deal at the Floor Store. I first called into the Floor Store and Charlie helped me out. He was quick, sent over my quote within 2 minutes after talking to him on the phone and he was able to beat S&G's price! He quoted me about 7 days for delivery, while S&G quoted me about 10 days. Unfortunately their promise of excellent customer service falls short of reality. From the beginning of my experience, I was weary because my invoice came with no pricing details, and when I called another location to verify, I was treated very rudely. I wrote a review of my experience and was contacted right away in an effort to make things right. So I removed my review and decided to give it another shot, giving them the benefit of doubt. I worked with Diana the store manager, to purchase flooring for my kitchen. We completed the floor installation on our own and upon completion we discovered we needed a transition strip. So I called and spoke with Diana, relying on their flooring expertise and asked for her support in ordering a transition strip. She informed me that they no longer carry that flooring and I would have to pay for the shipping costs. Knowing this was the final piece needed to complete my floor, I willing agreed. After providing them with my payment information, I was informed that I would receive a call back to provide me with the shipping details. I never received a call back; I only received a receipt with no description of what was ordered, just the dollar amount of $207...For ONLY two pieces! When we went to install, I found out that she sent the WRONG ITEM!! We received end-caps instead of transition strips. I called her to let her know and requested an exchange. I was then told there is no exchange and that there was nothing they could do; only offer a $50 credit towards my next purchase to correct her error!! I'm disappointed in my experience working with this company and wish I would have selected a company with more knowledge and better customer service. This is in regards to some follow-up work regarding some spacing on my wood flooring. Apparently, this was a result of not a super tight fit combined with a non-level floor base. They sent out a tech named Emmanuel and his partner, whose workmanship and professionalism was very impressive. They arrived right on time and were extremely pleasant, explained the issue and shared progress updates as they were performing to job, and completed the work timely. What extremely impressed me, even more, was their cleanliness. They actually cleaned under my couch and table, beyond the debris they created, and helped me add felt pads to the bottom of my couch. Unreliable and unresponsive. I wasted a day with these people. I took a few samples home and waited for the salesman to come over to measure. He had another job to measure before mine and he said he would stop by my place on his way back to the store, and he said he would call me when he was on his way. He thought that would be around 2:30. 5:00 came around and no call, so I called the store only to learn that he was there, in the store. The person who took my call placed me on hold, came back and said he would be over to measure by 6:00. He finally showed up to measure and I was told I would have an estimate to me in 2-3 days. It has now been two weeks and no estimate. I sent him an email asking about the estimate and I have not received a response. There were two men working on that Sunday, Feb. 23. One of which my husband and I felt was rude and a bit snarky with us when we asked questions. The salesman that worked with us was nice, but unreliable. I have decided to go with S & G flooring as they were very nice, helpful, knowledgeable, reliable and timely. Also, their prices are reasonable and fair. read more

I needed something in stock but had very specific requirements about width, water resistance etc. It had to be a certain height so my mom's wheelchair and wouldn't "bump" at the transition into the nest room. Last June, I was going through daily treatments and passed the Floor Store on my way home everyday. I was getting new kitchen cabinets and decided to stop in one day to see what they had to offer in flooring. I was not planning on buying new flooring, however, that is the day that I met Cambria and my journey with the Floor Store began. She was so patient and knowledgeable with me during my 9 month remodel. She loaned me samples when I needed them. She let us order our flooring and carpeting and then held onto it at the store for more than 6 months since our remodel was delayed due to the pandemic. Carlos came out and demo'ed our entire downstairs by himself and took away ALL of the debris. There was a 4 month delay in our project between the demo and the installation and never was it a problem. Cambria and the Floor Store staff were accommodating to all of our delays and flooring choice changes. We were looking to recarpet our bedrooms and my wife dropped by the store today to get some samples, etc. After walking around for about 15 minutes with no assistance and noting that there some of employees remained on their phones, she just walked out. I went in to look at some floor materials for my bedroom, and to completely renovate my bathroom. The associate who helped me, Charlie Tran, was amazing!! He went above and beyond in all aspects, from showing me different materials, helping me pick out samples, explaining how different sizes and textures will feel in - basically took care of all my questions. He's also super responsive over the phone, and he coordinated all my materials arrival. I've been running around like a headless chicken for the past month, because of renovations and repairs. 2nd UPDATE: WARNING: Do not buy floors from The Floor Store if you are not going to have them do the install. If there are issues they will blame the installers. They do not stand by their products. I bought Karastan thinking they were great floors. I just received another email from the floor store basically saying "Good news, the floors can be fixed and we know how, however we did not install the floors so we can not help fix them. Have your installers read the report that states they are either broken or not installed correctly." There is NO accountability and they do not stand by their products. These are brand new floors that were installed less than 6 months ago by professional installers (not DIY etc). I have been in contact with them for 4 months, they are very nice while they are giving me the run-around, so there's that. It has been beyond frustrating...do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

My installers forgot to hook the drain hose back up for the washing machine. I ran a load and went into the laundry room when it was done to find water all over the laundry room floor, the guest bathroom, and seeping under the carpet into the guest bedroom. I was able to move the dryer enough to find the hose on the floor and hook it up to the drain. Damage was already done. I immediately called customer support who informed me that the Manager did not work weekends and was busy on Monday so it would be sometime next week before anyone could get out. I told her I was leaving on a business trip on Monday and would be gone 2 weeks. The response was to ask me if someone else could let them in the house next week. NOT WANT I NEEDED TO HEAR. I mopped up he water as best I could but it had already seeped into the padding beneath the new floor and by Sunday morning was already smelling musty. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and RESPONSE. I moved my trip out two days and will try again to contact SOMEONE to get out here. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE--not at all like the review read. They were here immediately to sell me the floor but not at all responsive to an emergency caused by their installer. read more

My husband and I were in the market for new carpet and decided to pop into the Floor Store to check out their inventory. I took samples home to check them out with the different lighting of the rooms we would be carpeting, Made our decision, returned the samples, scheduled an appointment for measuring our space, and finalized all the details. One thing to note: my husband is a general contractor, so his expertise needed to be matched by Floor Store representative to move forward. Diana C was AWESOME! Not only was she super nice but equally as knowledgeable and because of this we had our carpet installed in 2 weeks time from the moment I stepped into the store! Unheard of in todays world of 'backorders' due to the pandemic. It's been now 3 months since we had our new carpet installed and we absolutely LOVE it! We ordered Berber carpet with a 'Smart Finish' and the premium padding. Upon entering the store, staff at front lobby barely looked and did not acknowledge our presence until we were standing in front of them staring at them. We recently ordered carpet for our upstairs addition and an area rug from Steve. He was attentive, helpful, and informative. We knew what we wanted for the upstairs and were able to quickly make our selection. But we didn't know our options for area rugs and we were delighted when Steve informed us that we could select any carpet in the store and they would measure and cut it to fit the space we wanted. It was the perfect solution as the space did not conform to the standard sized area rugs. Both have since been installed and we are delighted with the results. Found this great store/showroom with lots of flooring choices. Like with any remodel job, problems pop up and this caused me to go back to the store on numerous occasions. I was glad to find this Sunnyvale store (instead of having to drive down to San Jose). On a couple occasions, I had difficulty getting through on the phone and meeting up with a salesperson, but the staff all care and make things right. Cambria in particular is awesome, has a knack for design and helped in the selection of tiles. She is knowledgeable about the products and truly cares about customers. I also worked with the floor staff Diana, Charlie, and Chris who all were polite and helped me problem-solve throughout my remodel project.
