The minute I walked into the store, I was greeted by Gregg, who listened to what I wanted and needed, and took me to the samples that were exactly what I was looking for. He came out and did an estimate for us, and we had the flooring installed in less than 2 weeks. The installers were great and the bathroom looks new. We decided to replace all flooring in our 25 year old home. Wanted LVPF and had done some on line research before going to any stores. Spoke to Todd and Sondra at Carpet One and had a great experience. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. No pressure to buy anything. We had decided we wanted Coretec before visiting. We were given as many showroom samples as we wanted to take home. One of the colors was not available in a sample so Todd delivered to our home a few days later. We decided to go with the Coretec and scheduled an installation. We were all set to install and my wife and I got COVID. No issues whatsoever with rescheduling the installation. The installation crew was amazing. Thanks to Sergey, Alexander, Andrew and Yury for taking such good care of our home. They put plastic sheeting over everything! Cabinets, walls, counters, everything. Tile removal was difficult but they got it done. Leveled all the floors before installation. Total project was four days (I'm doing my own baseboard installation) for a 1675 sq ft slab foundation home. Flooring is amazing and exceeds our expectations. After going to Home Depot, Lowes, S&G and a few others, I stumbled into this slightly off the beat and path carpet and flooring store.I'm so glad I did. I had an idea of what I was looking for. After all, I saw a 5 inch square of it from one of the other proprietorships I went to. I thought I could picture it in in a 420 sf space. I was really fixed on this idea. Then I met Allen. He came out and introduced himself. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me around. They had the specific laminate I was looking for, then he showed me some other laminates. He told me about the quality of the current laminates. he showed me possibilities in a larger than 5 x 5 inch square and I could see how it would look. We picked out a few samples and he offered to come by my house the same day so I could see how they'd look on my floor. WOW! He came by my house on time, measured my floors, and we looked at the samples I chose at the store on my floor. I fell in love with the hand scraped acacia wood laminate. (This was soooo NOT what I originally thought I would get because the previous rep who came to my house led me to believe it wouldn't be possible to do anything but the white-ish laminate I chose) Alan came over with creative possibilities, suggestions and a helpful, can-do attitude. He worked within my budget constraints and we scheduled for the floor installation for the following week. The floor people showed up on time. One man came early to remove the baseboards and the old carpet followed by the lead floor man, James. They found my concrete floor was not level they fixed it. No problem. I also had 2 inch gaps in the space between the drywall and the concrete floor. James advised me the 1/2 round I ordered wouldn't work because of the gap. --Problem. We'll the floor God's must have been with me because the floor they brought was not the hand scraped floor I ordered, but smooth. ( not their fault-a shipping error.) This gave me time to fix the walls and paint the trim area. ***Now here's a tip for you. You can have the company remove the baseboards and reinstall them for you, BUT, if you remove the baseboards yourself, ahead of your appointment time, you'll have time to paint the trim area and fix whatever you may need to fix before the floor gets laid. One week later, my floors were installed. James and his crew laid out my floors in one day. They worked tirelessly. My floors are beautiful. James is an expert in his field. Professional and kind. They cleaned up everything when they were done and I was left with floors that make me feel wonderful when I look at them Gold River Carpet One Floor-Courteous, Caring, Professional, and Reasonable. I chose Gold River because I was pressed for time and wanted a one-stop shopping experience with lots of samples to look at and someone to guide me through the process . I met with Alma, who helped me select the carpet, pad and vinyl plank flooring. I was able to take some samples to the new house to take photos. She was so helpful and responsive to all my questions. The installation crew did an excellent job. I had to have vinyl and tile removed which left an uneven floor. They were able to float cement on top of the concrete to level it out. There was also a large curved step which required a custom edge piece. The house looks amazing and I get complements from everyone who comes in. read more

Unfortunately our entire experience from start to finish was painful. The sales person that measured had to come out 2 days in a row since he couldn't figure out his ipad. Then, there were significant delays on the arrival of the carpet and vinyl that we order. Understandable during the COVID crisis but there was no communication during the delays and I had to call over and over to get any updates. We ended up ordering a different vinyl due to the delay but I was never sent a picture of the suggested replacement. I had to google the name of it to find out what the flooring the salesman was recommending. Fast forward to installation. They brought the wrong vinyl! Not the original one ordered, not the replacement but something totally different! Turns out somebody ordered the replacement incorrectly. To top it all off, the toilet that we paid $300 to take out and put back in during the flooring replacement wasn't reinstalled correctly as we started to see moisture around the base. They came back to fix it but only patched one small damaged area rather than the whole dmaged part and it doesn't look great. I am honestly done with this company and will never choose them for flooring again. Better to pay a bit more and go with someone else and avoid all of the headache. read more

Although we decided not to work with this company, I wanted to take the time to write a 5 star review because of my experience with them. First and foremost, Alma is so helpful and knowledgeable. She really took the time to show us different sample of carpets based on what we were looking for, and she would be very spot on with what she presented! Ultimately, we decided not to go with this company due to price point and availability. For price point, Alma really got creative in an attempt to match another invoice we had received. For availability, Alma was just so booked out that even if she matched the price point, we would've needed the installation sooner. We were in the process of building a home with a builder who steers his clients to Gold River Carpet, so I met with Jeff (the owner) to choose flooring. He was rude, arrogant, and treated me as though I were ignorant and poor when I asked about the prices of various types of flooring. Additionally, their selection of travertine flooring is extremely minimal, and is significantly higher-priced than any of the other flooring showrooms/businesses that we visited. This company is honest and fair. I'm very pleased with my new carpet. Brian my Salesperson at Folsom Blvd. location, was extremely helpful. I thought I knew what I wanted, but apparently not. After explaining the problem I was concerned to Brian, he was able to help me with the perfect solution. New carpet with waterproof under padding. I didn't know there was such a thing on the market. I was in a real hurry so he called install scheduler, who made contact with me same day and an installer was sent out within a few days. The installer, sorry I don't remember his name, older gentleman, was very professional and polite. He got the entire job done in - less than a full day. Three rooms/closets and he had to carry all the carpet/padding (old and new) up and down many stairs. I felt a little bad because he told me I had 40 stairs. But, jokingly, judging by the looks of his legs, he was physically fit for the job. (~: I did give him water folks... He didn't complain, just did what he came to do, and did excellent work. He turned what was a dramatic event for me, having to have the whole flooring replaced in the house, into the easiest process. Working with Gold River Carpet One for our laminate floors exceeded my expectations, and I'm one very tough customer. The ordering process with Alma was a treat, contrary to the bidding process with other companies. Home Depot lost our business when we discovered unwelcome surprises in its estimate. Lumber Liquidators was a joke. The installation team Carpet One sent us was excellent. Polite, hygienic, fast, hard-working and super-skilled. I could not ask for a better experience than with Jeff at Gold River Carpet One. I had multiple bids from different places and everyone wanted us to put plywood down under our new hard wood. Long story short, he was the only one who took the time to think through and bring his installer in to confirm we didn't actually need plywood underlayment on or subfloors. They leveled our subfloors and install went perfect. Jeff personally came to check on the progress and to make sure I was happy each step of the way. Their warranty can't be beat either! Choosing Gold River Floor was a great decision. Our luxury vinyl plank floor was installed in late August, but we wanted to see -- over a couple of months -- if we still loved our choice. We do! There was great communication through Josie, professional installation by Dan, and quality control with Joe. The installer took every precaution to mitigate the inevitable dust. He also consulted with us whenever there was an issue, for example our uneven countertops on each side of the range. When the project was complete, we were very grateful that Dan helped us relocate several pieces of very heavy furniture that we couldn't have moved ourselves. As for the product -- the luxury vinyl plank floor -- it's wonderful. Two dogs play on it, and it shows no sign of scratches. Very durable. Unlike porcelain, it's not cold. We've spilled on the floor. No warping or stains. The floor looks so much like real wood that it's difficult to believe it's not hardwood. We are very, very pleased with both the product and the staff. Great job in every column! read more

I had a small kitchen fire , that resulted in my wood floors being burned I contacted Gold River Floors to provide an estimate to my insurance company. Jim Colvin came out promptly and did his inspection and quickly said the floors are not repairable: I was not happy at all but Jim assured me it would all work out and look beautiful . So after insurance approval I met Jim at the store and he made me feel so comfortable I knew he was very experienced in what he does and we went thru the store and he gave me all my options with naturally with pros and cons with each product . So we discussed all with my home living conditions with 4 large dogs he pointed me in the direction of the Shaw LVP 30mil that is waterproof and will withstand dogs. The whole process from start to finish was just perfect unlike the other repairs I had to get done, Gold River is a fantastic Company to do business with, Jim Colvin is a true professional in his profession I urge anybody to use him and Gold River Floors. We have used Gold River Carpet One over many years. Our rep there is Gregg Sessa. He is knowledgeable, dependable, and makes the process so easy. He just helped us with the re-carpeting of our whole house and he helped us find the best carpet to meet our needs for the best price. The installation coordinator, Will, was very accommodating in setting up our installation and following through when we had questions. The installers showed up on time and were fast and efficient and did a good job cleaning up and getting things back in place. We are very happy with our new pet friendly carpet. I know if we have any problems in the future that Gregg will be available for us. Accidents happen...and in the past, we've had remodeling issues that affected the carpet, some stain problems, and some minor household flooding. He was always responsive, there with his expertise and advice to help with the resolutions. Installer was excellent, but due to the unscrupulous sales rep Mar in rocklin, our vinyl floor is opposite of the rest of our home. I called Mark and told him we hated this, and he basically said, this is what I ordered. When Mark came to our home, he did not give me the option of having the vinyl go in the same direction as the rest of my home. After talking to the installer, I then understood, that if Mark had done his job right, it would have cost 100 or so more to buy a larger roll of vinyl to do the job right. Now we are stuck with crap.....Do not do business with these people! Beware. read more

After having contacted 3 carpet & flooring business to replace water damaged carpeting we chose Carpet One. Steve Lemaster was very professional in explaining the process for the replacement of our ruined carpets. He measured and prepared the needed documentation for the insurance and contractor contacts. We cannot thank him enough for speeding up the process to have our house returned to normal. The carpet crew kept us informed and set a date for installation. Although the carpet was not delivered on the expected date of delivery Will contacted us and revised the schedule to ensure our carpet was delivered and installed as scheduled. I had the most wonderful experience in December of 2015 (yes, I am very late in writing this review. For that, I am so sorry) with Jeff Krekelberg, the owner of GOLD RIVER FLOORING, and Gregg Sessa, the Insurance manager, and the installers of our new carpet, and of course our insurance adjuster, Kathy Pardee (sp:) We went to Carpet One on the recommendation of our insurance company. I was a little hesitant at first, due to problems with other carpet companies in the past. Working with Gregg Sessa, the Insurance Manager, made this experience the best experience I have ever had in choosing anything in my lifetime. Gregg gave me his undivided attention and was very patient and had a lot of knowledge on my picking our replacement carpet. He explained the Beautiful warranty and spent an inordinate amount of time helping me pick out my carpet. I went home with many samples and weighed the pros and cons of each and chose one. It was installed very quickly by the best installers of carpeting I have ever met. I am so sorry. I cannot remember their names. But they worked as a team, were very professional and quick and did an excellent job of installation and moving our furniture in and out. It was rainy and dark in our home when the installation took place. For some reason, the color of the carpet just didn't seem right. It took me several days to figure out why. I had spent an inordinate amount of time matching the carpet color with the paint on the walls and the tile. Something just seemed wrong. Finally, after a few days, I figured it out. The new carpet had a pink hue to it that was not noticed due to the weather. I went and got the sample that I had brought home from the showroom. I laid it on top of my newly installed carpet. There was a color difference. The new carpet did have a pink hue to it, which in turn made my taupe walls look yellow. I was devastated. The carpet was beautiful, the installation was perfect, but it did not match the colors in my home. I called Gregg Sessa, at Gold River Floors and told him the carpet was pink. He did not argue with me. He just asked me to bring in the sample I still had from the showroom and a piece of the carpet that was installed. When I arrived at the showroom, I was very upset and ready to have Gregg or the owner of the company argue with me and tell me I was wrong, as most retailers seem to do these days. Instead, Gregg looked at the carpet pieces and said, "Yes, the installed one has a pink hue and is not the same color as the floor sample." I was so happy I didn't have to argue about what I was seeing. Gregg had already alerted Jeff Krekelberg, the store owner, that I was coming down and what the problem was. Within ten minutes of my being in the showroom, Jeff came over to our table, introduced himself, and looked at the carpet samples. He agreed immediately that I did not get what I paid for and the carpet that was installed did have a pink hue to it. He immediately personally took me around the whole store showing me other choices I could pick out and exchange it for. He told me the pros and cons of all of the carpet in the store. Literally, he spent over an hour very patiently doing so. I have never in my life had such terrific service and the personalized attention to make a customer be satisfied. I finally decided on several samples which I took home. I finally decided on one, which was of higher quality and more expensive. Jeff Krekelberg and Gregg Sessa worked with me to make it work. My carpet is beautiful and I love Gold River Floors, Carpet One Floor and Home, and I recommend them highly. It is refreshing to work with people that care. I do apologize that this review is so late, but with work and life, time passes, and we forget those who have done the most for us in such a professional way. Hands down the best customers service! Jeff took the time to go over the options we had selected for a new construction project. He explained the pros and cons of the engineered hardwood flooring my wife picked out and suggested an even better carpet than we had originally planned. Not only that, it shaved off $500.00 over what we would have paid with the more expensive product.
