Kinda thought someone would take some actual real time with me to discuss the project. Like...let's sit down and talk. Nope. All I got was: she took photos of the photos, asked my budget...and then charged me the full amount of my budget, tacked on shipping, and that was that. Then, I was underwhelmed by the size of the arrangement. I had a few women co workers tell me that was about right for $150 plus shipping. I vehemently disagree. I guess flowers are just more expensive than I thought !? They also missed some of the more prominent colors of our wedding. The arrangement came off muted, not colorful like out wedding. I felt so bad when this showed up for my wife.

With 3 hours time difference (and most S.A. florist shops due to close within the half-hour), to say I was in a bit of a panic is an understatement. After quickly skimming Google reviews of florist shops located near the funeral chapel, am I ever so glad I called "Just Because Flowers" first! Even though I was flustered & practically babbling, Ms. Jaime very patiently & expertly calmed me down enough to take pertinent information over the long-distance phone call. She asked what type of arrangement I wanted and all I could think of was "a heart or a cross, but discreet--not too showy." Jaime then asked me my price point & then what I wanted written on the accompanying card. When she sensed my mind went to blank, she kindly offered me several options appropriate to the occasion. I remembered to ask Jaime to send me a photo via text because even though I was with my grieving relatives in spirit, I was still 1,300 miles away. Jaime was instantly accommodating with my request & said she would certainly send me a text photo prior to delivery. I fully expected the flowers to be delivered in time for the graveside service next day, but I was wonderfully shocked to receive the text photo of a perfect floral work of art within the hour! I was so pleased to realize that Jaime had taken it upon herself to look up my relative's published obituary whereupon she quickly discerned that the floral arrangement could be created & delivered THE SAME DAY AND IN TIME for the eulogy & rosary! I am much obliged to Jaime - the professionalism of the husband and wife team who own & operate Just Because Flowers went far above & beyond any of my expectations in providing a tasteful floral arrangement and stellar service at a very reasonable price. And I am without reservation that they will do the same for YOU -- highly recommended!

Crystal patiently went back and forth with me on changes throughout 18 months of wedding planning and in a pandemic. She was able to do a bouquet for my bridal photos which was stunning and made me even more excited for wedding day florals! The wedding day florals were even better than expected! She did a beautiful floral arch, three different types of floral arrangements for guest tables, a large head table with greenery, and beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaids! The groomsmen even said that their boutonnieres were awesome, especially with the magnet back instead of pinning it to their jackets.

I was disappointed with, among other things, the services and prices of several other florists, so maybe 2 and a half weeks before my out-of-town wedding, I went in search of someone else. I wanted that amazing wedding experience on that small wedding budget, last minute. Talk about unicorns. Let me tell you Crystal with The Organic Design is IT. She blew me away immediately with her responsiveness and warm friendliness, and then went above and beyond to figure out exactly what I wanted. She even sent over a sheet with all of the flowers she had in mind with pictures and names (which, being flower-dumb, was extremely helpful). She was happy to offer any advice and ideas, she is capable of a variety of styles, and is very flexible. I had family bidding on who took home the centerpieces! Being October, I was a little scared that it may come off Halloween-y, but she showed up with bouquets, centerpieces nestled in pumpkins, and fresh flower hair combs that didn't even come close to Halloween and looked every bit of the fall I wanted. The price is way more than reasonable, she's a joy to work with, very responsive with correspondence, AND she knows an awesome somewhat-unknown baker that can make a gorgeous cake without costing half the uptown rent at Persimmon Creek Cakes (which was more than helpful, because I was looking for a new baker, too, but that's a different review). I can't wait til this one hits the featured pages and I can say "I TOLD YOU GUYS SO!"

It's small but beautifully furnished with an intimate class setup around a standing table. I was pretty apprehensive about the class as I consider myself "artistically challenged" but Ashley's guidance resulted in a beautiful end product that I was proud to display in my home. She was so encouraging and engaging that she put us all totally at ease as she walked us through the steps to build a bouquet. What I really enjoyed was that even though we all followed the same general structure, each flower bucket was slightly different (all the same flowers but different amounts/styles of cutting) so there was no way that any two bouquets would look alike. It was a great hour and a half with fabulous, friendly coaching and conversation and I would not hesitate to do a class again. Highly recommended as a unique date, day out, or gift for someone special. Note that they have transitioned from their large space along the main thoroughfare at Pearl; they are focusing on events now so they no longer function as a retail space.

We found Floral Elegance on a wedding website in December 2010 and after much research, we decided…read moreto go with them for our wedding because of their beautiful arrangements and good reviews. Our wedding was not for a while, but we felt it was necessary to book our date: 9-10-11. I emailed Adriana about our interest and she responded quickly. She asked us what we were looking for and for our budget. She then proceeded to email me with what she proposed we could do for our budget and she set up an appointment for me and my fiance to go into their store. Upon arrival at the shop, we were met by a male assistant that informed us that Adriana would not be available because she was meeting with another bride (she said she would personally be meeting with us). Adriana's husband seemed to feel bad that we were not able to meet with Adriana, so he tryed to intercept our questions, but only made things harder for us. The assistant had no clue what we were working on with Adriana and pushed his own ideas on us. Everytime we would try to give him an idea of what we wanted, he persuaded us against it. Due to HIS flower choices for us, it caused our proposal price to go up $1000 (we did not discover this price difference until 2 weeks later when they emailed us)!!! They were unable to provide us with vases to our liking (which they insisted on purchasing for us-to add to our price), so we told them not to include it in our pricing. After several emails back and forth (over a 4 month time period) we became very frustrated and decided to wait a little while to decide on the flowers (since we had put $ down to secure our date and had time). It would take at least a week for a response, up to 3 weeks on one occasion. After still not having a signed proposal or agreed upon flowers, Adriana emailed me and requested us to pay a 50% deposit. WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT FLOWERS/VASES OR ARRANGEMENTS WE NEEDED, but they were still asking for money. Now after some hardships, we are unable to shell out $3300 in flowers, and have decided to use that money some where else that might be more useful. We emailed Adriana to see if we could use the $150 deposit we put down towards a bouquet for myself (so I can still have a beautiful bouquet) and she responded: "I am sorry we cannot use the deposit on a cancelled wedding contract for 1 floral bouquet. You are basically cancelling the contract and want to use the $150.00 on one item. The $150.00 is part of the time spent on putting everything together and research for ideas done especially for your wedding . I hope you understand." Really?!?!? We never even saw this lady and her ASSISTANT met with us once for 1 hour, sent maybe 4 emails and they can't give us flowers for the money we spent? I think that is very rude considering the service we received. Floral Elegance is obviously a retailer that has to overprice their flowers for the retail space they pay for and refuse to honor money when it is put down for services. I was excited to have them cater our wedding, but I feel that because we weren't willing to pay more than $3,000 for flowers they are not going to accomodate us as well as the up-scale weddings in Stone Oak that they cater to.
