The restaurant just reopened in their new location 2 days ago. They have a really nice outdoor seating area. They are also open on Mondays which is so nice. They are closed on Tuesdays. The servers looked like an experienced bunch and the service was excellent. It is a wonderfully curated menu where people with food allergies and sensitivities should be able to eat safely. My citrus salad with grilled chicken was a healthy, nutritious, high protein lunch. It was packed with such fresh, tasty ingredients. My husband enjoyed his Cuban sandwich. It had a different name and it looked like pulled pork instead of ham. He said it was great. It comes with tortilla chips or a side salad. I can't wait to go back and try other things.

I got a gluten free veggie burger with fries. It was phenomenal. I eat GF and don't really eat much meat, so it is hard to find a good, hearty meal when dining out. I was completely satisfied and wish The Floridian were local to me so I could continue to go back!

Located in St. Augustine's historic district, The Floridian feels like all of the best Old Florida has to offer--you can almost picture Hemingway working at a table in the corner. There is plenty of outdoor seating, however, we sat inside, at a table with a lovely view of the outdoor patio. The menu was vegetarian friendly, and many of the menu items can be made vegan. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, made vegan, and served with herbed ricotta and basil aioli on the side. We both ordered the Black Bean Sweet Potato Burger, one vegetarian with pimento cheese, and one vegan. Everything was prepared and served with care--the servers identified each dish as it came out, noting whether it was vegan, which is always appreciated. This was by far the best meal we had on this trip to Florida--every single bite of food at Floridian was an explosion of flavor. We saw a vegan coconut cake in the display but were too full to try it. Maybe next time!

Super yummy restaurant! Cute environment and yummy food. One thing was the drinks were very sweet. I specifically asked if a drink was sweet told it wasn't and then got handed basically a drink with all juice. But the food was great. We ordered: biscuits and belly, harvest flatbread, sunshine salad, beef ragout, 'n waffles I would order it all again!!! So yummy. The beef ragout had incredible flavor. Heads up it's basically a big bowl of meat.

Great service & unique eats! The Floridian is definitely a must try while in St Augustine. Great ambiance inside & out and I wanted to try everything on the menu! The meatloaf was amazing as was the fresh catch nicoiese. We also enjoyed our appetizer - the pickled pepper shrimp.

Originally made plans to have dinner at Prohibition Kitchen but they were closed for a private show so my wife and I pivoted to The Floridian instead. The main thing that sides out to me about this restaurant aside from the food is its ambiance. It's almost as if you're walking into a secluded garden, so if you're looking for a place for a nice and intimate date or dinner, this is a good option. We were seated inside at first but decided to move outside because there was a larger party that was a bit noisy and the staff was extremely accommodating. Once relocated, we ordered the chips and dip as an appetizer, their specialty lemonade (blood orange lemonade) and sweet tea for drinks, and their shrimp and gifts and sausage and shrimp plate for our entrees. The appetizers and lemonade was delicious! I wasn't a big fan of the sweet tea (tasted more iced than sweet) and both of our entrees were okay. Not bad! Just not what we were expecting from the dishes. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area and are looking for a good assortment of dishes.

Pretty pretty pretty place. They have space for you in the inside area, outside and in the front patio tables. Menu is fun. Wine list is god. My daughter is doing a vegan diet, she said the vegan burguer was good. I order a mango passion fruit lemonade that was amazing, so I repeated it. Prices are average and for Saint Augustine? Is a find, price wise. The Kentucky derby desert is to die for. Attention is great, friendly and still professional. I heard they are moving, I will follow them wherever they go.

WOW! I am absolutely in love with the Floridian. I love local spots that feel super authentic and unique to the area. The Floridian feels very cozy and eclectic with really interesting menu choices. We got the 'n grits and the pop special but honestly had such a hard time choosing from their unique menu. We got the 'n grits with FL shrimp which was seasoned and grilled to perfection. I loved the purple rice grits which had a different texture than your average grits. The peach-cucumber was so refreshing--just loved this whole dish! The pop special was a meatloaf supper with beef, sweet onions, and bell peppers, all covered in pimento cheese. I loved the smashed herb potatoes and the collard greens. The datil ketchup wasn't super strong in terms of datil flavor. Both dishes were great choices! Bonus: if you have a membership at the St. Augustine light house, you get 10% off your bill at the Floridian!

We were so excited to eat here and this was such a bummer!! The ambiance was very cool, and I loved all the curated artwork. However, it was so loud we could hardly hear ourselves. The service seemed generally alright but our waitress in particular was terrible. She seemed like she was in a bad mood (which I think is acceptable, you can't be happy all the time), but she checked on us only one time and didn't refill our water or clean away dishes at all. Let's get into the good, the average, and the ugly: - The good: The pork belly was excellent. Cooked really well and was super tender. - The average: The curry, steak, biscuits and accompaniments to the biscuits were all just ok. Overall average tasting, but they were the smallest biscuits I've ever seen and my steak was pretty chewy. - The ugly: My meal (the steak) was supposed to come with a coconut sweet potato puree. It had maybe one spoonful that was spread all over the plate in a quantity so small it could not possibly be eaten by itself. Not the end of the world but I was put off by this since nothing else we had at this point was really making up for it. The salad was the WORST one I have ever had. I couldn't believe how absolutely tasteless it was. It genuinely felt like it may have been prepped a full day or two before, because it had no freshness to it. It was so bad that I intended to make a comment to the manager on the way out but he seemed busy so I passed, but seriously, worst salad in the world. I wanted this to be good so badly, but after this experience, I can't imagine they have a single item on the menu that would redeem this.

The Floridian has a great southern-centric menu with plenty of vegetarian accommodations and options. Located on a side street near the main strip in St. Augustine, this restaurant is very accessible and convenient with paid parking nearby. I ordered the FGT BLT (Fried Green Tomato BLT) vegetarian style and added pimento cheese. Ooooh yum! The pimento cheese was a necessary addition in my opinion. It was ooey gooey and so satisfying. Side choices were a salad or homemade tortilla chips. I got the chips, but it doesn't come with salsa. So, I asked for salsa for $1. I thought salsa was standard practice, but oh well. Service was timely and casual. The cocktail and wine selection is pretty good as well. Overall, The Floridian is a solid lunch option.

I had wanted to try The Floridian for ages and finally got a chance to when my spouse and I decided to come to St. Augustine on a Sunday afternoon. The exterior and interior are both lovely -- casual but with a fun and very Floridian (appropriately) aesthetic. We arrived around 3 p.m. and found plenty of availability, although I know in busier times a reservation is important. Our server, whose name escapes me, was great, as were the other folks who stopped by to check in on us, refill our waters, take plates away, etc. We started a Garden Gimlet with vodka, which my spouse said was "delicious" and "easy to drink". I went with the Saturn in Crosshairs because I'm a big fan of tiki-style drinks and was really impressed; the drink blended all of its different flavors so well that the taste was entirely unique -- and, like my husband's, it was also very easy to drink! We got the Chips and Dips appetizer as a starter and were impressed. The chips are clearly housemade, the vegetables were fresh, and the dips were refreshing and creamy. For entrées, my husband got the Dixie Burger and a side of chips -- we didn't realize they were the same chips that came with the chips and dips (although it's a bit more obvious in hindsight), but we liked them and didn't mind having more! His burger was tasty and cooked to the temperature he asked (and looked like it was actually hand-formed). The bun, he said, was also great. I went with the Cornbread Stack and really liked it. The cornbread in particular was delicious and the tofu was cooked well; my only bit of feedback here is that I felt like there was a lot of aioli and that it kind of overwhelmed the rest of the plate as it soaked in. It tasted good, though, so I think I'd just order it on the side next time for my own dipping/drizzling. Also, the serving size for the stack was hearty! I would have taken leftovers had we not had other plans for the rest of the day, and I think it's a good "sharing size" if you want to have room to try some other parts of the menu (which I look forward to doing, because so much of it sounded right up my alley). And in general, The Floridian gets major points in my book for being so accommodating to dietary preferences and needs. There are multiple meatless dishes and many more that are marked as having a vegetarian and even a vegan option, and there are a lot of gluten-free options on the menu, too. I'm looking forward to going back in general, but this restaurant is at the top of my list of places to consider when going out with folks who have differing dietary concerns. We didn't get to try the desserts this time, but the display counter caught my eye as we left and gave me another reason to want to come back. The meal was a bit pricey (for our two alcoholic drinks, appetizer, and two entrées, it came to about $75 before tip), but I don't feel like I overpaid. The quality was great, and St. Augustine rents have to be paid somehow. Overall, everything we had was fresh and delicious, and it feels like a place where everyone cares about what's being made and the people they're making it for.

This was our best dining out experience on our St. Augustine Trip. We were able to make a reservation online the only problem was there wasn't a pet friendly space. So when we arrived dog child in tow- they barely even made it an issue. Super friendly staff. And this menu will blow your socks off. My tuna bowl was so fresh and layered with flavor. Each ingredient was chosen with love and intention. The fried green tomatoes were lightly bread clouds of deliciousness! And the chow chow below it brought the whole plate together. My bite of the chicken sandwich was also a flavor bomb. Crisp and fresh very good! The drinks were very tasty my wild in the street was fantastic very peppery with an underlying sweetness. Wow! It's not often that I leave a restaurant and cannot wait to return. The Floridian gets top marks for me across the board. Service, ambiance, food, drinks, everything was great. With over a thousand reviews proclaiming its excellence, this is far from a hidden treasure, but is sure feels like one. Perhaps what I liked best about it all was how unassuming a place this is. In downtown St. Augustine with all of the hustle and bustle of a weekend evening, The Floridian was a calm, quiet oasis for adults who enjoy well made food from great ingredients, with deep flavors, and creative preparations. Too often innovative cocktail menus are a mess. I don't think it makes too much sense to go into all the details of the drink that knocked my socks off, as I hear the menu is always changing. Let's just say that it was a riff off The Last Word and used Kafir Lime Leaves for a great herbal aromatic punch, in combination with local spirits. It was simply dynamite. My dining companions and I had all agreed to try and eat as many Florida shrimp as we could, and I was glad to see The Floridian had many different preparations for us to try. Maybe too many, as we did not quite have room for the pickled pepper shrimp, which was a pity. Next time. I also heard great things about the meatloaf sandwich, which will also have to wait. In fact, next visit to St. Augustine it may be hard to get me to eat anyplace else. Seriously. Favorite meal of the trip. Probably my favorite meal this month. It's certainly in the running for my favorite meal of the year. More restaurants should take a page from The Floridian's book. read more

Food was great. Restaurant was cute. Central to the action in the area. Once we got seated service was good. We had a reservation but could not get anyone's attention until at least 15 minutes after we should have been seated. There were some large parties in front of us so it was busy but it would be nice to acknowledge all guests as they arrive. The host seemed bothered to help. Again though, once in food an drinks were reflux good, salmon was amazing. Our waitress was great. read more

After doing some bar hopping on a Saturday Night we were starting to get a little hungry so we starting looking for places we could get a reservation at. Lucky the Floridian had a table open at 8:30PM so we booked and headed in that direction. Once arrived we were seated and ordered drinks. Once again I went with the Old Fashioned. I will say I was a little thrown off when it came out in a Mason Jar like glass but it was good so it worked. For our appetizer we tried the Biscuit and Belly which was very good, Let's just say I'm a big fan of Pork Belly and it's not always on menus so always gotta get it when you can. For my entrée I went with the N Grits with Blackened Shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the blackening seasoning went together perfectly with the Goat Cheese Grits. This is a dish worth trying for sure. Ashley got the N Waffles with Chicken for her meal. This dish was not great. There was just very little chicken and pretty much only waffle. It's not for those who are looking for more protein and savory then sweet. All and all pretty good dinner and we would probably return. read more

Server was friendly. My friends and I sat at a table indoors. The restaurant was busy with a very large family dining, but that didn't bother us at. Moderate noise level and I could still have a conversation with my friends at the table without shouting. Food was good well portioned. Walking distance from Flagler college if you're doing the trolley tours. Would go back if I'm visiting the area again. read more

Upon arrival they were expecting us and getting the table ready. - The service was great and fast, and our server made excellent recommendations. - Drinks. I tried their cilantro-infused take on a Mojito: refreshing and not as sweet as other Mojito s I have had elsewhere. For our daughter they offered us a sample of their lemonade before ordering. It was a lemon / mint / grapefruit concoction. Our daughter liked it and we ordered one. I wanted to steal it and toss in some vodka!! - Food. The soup of the day was a unique Black bean and vegetable soup in a clearish broth. The "N waffles" was succulent pulled pork, bourbon brown sugar- covered pecans over cornbread cooked in a waffle iron. My wife had the biscuits and pork belly appetizer as a meal. The kids menu quesadilla seemed to have manchego or other above-par cheese: No Craft cheddar in this one!! Overall GREAT place for those seeking out-of-the-ordinary $15-20 entrees and stellar $10-12 cocktails. read more

Loved this place! Our server Courtney was very good and attentive - 5 stars! We had passed by The Floridian the day before and there were lots of people waiting to be seated. We made reservations online for lunch the next day and had a great experience. We started with the pickled shrimp. Very good. We then ordered the 1/2 order of beet salad with blackened shrimp and the Cuban sandwich. The salad was great and the shrimp were cooked perfectly! We are from south Florida and love a good Cuban Sandwich. This is NOT a traditional Cuban but it is a very good sandwich. The menu is very interesting and when we are back in St. Augustine we'll stop in and try a few of their other offerings. read more

Clean and cute environment. Waitstaff is lowkey and friendly. Fried Shrimp Fancy appetizer is super yummy, especially the sauce! For main dishes we got Steak Frites and The Pop Special. For the Steak Frites, the steak (beef tenderloin) was delicious and the salad was very flavorful, but the potatoes were extremely salty and I didn't eat them. The Pop Special was delicious, filling, and good for the price. We will return! read more

We were worried about coming here, due to our teenage son being so picky but I'm glad we did. The wait time was minimal, the staff was polite and courteous, and the food was fantastic! I had shrimp and grits, and I can honestly say I've never had better. My son polished off the chicken and waffles, and my wife could not stop bragging about the summer pork tenderloin. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Me and some friends tried this place out since it came highly recommended while we visited St. Augustine. The vibe was very laid back & the food was so fresh! I had the FGT (fried green tomatoes) BLT. It had bacon jam and basil mayo which was a stellar combination! Easily one of my favorite restaurants. I always try to come whenever I'm in town. the menu is incredible, so thoughtful and delicious from the cocktails to dessert. The atmosphere is very fun "old Florida" casual vibes and the service is great. Kid friendly but not overly so where you feel like you're only going for the kids. Just the right amount for kids and adults. I almost always order the 'N grits but the cornbread is also so good. read more

I sat at the mini bar. The woman next to me had the grain bowl with tofu. So, I said "I'll have what she's having" (pun intended). This is clean healthy dinner. I asked the bartender to recommend a cider. He recommended the Crimson Chaos. This drink is a mixed berry cider. It was good! There are a lot of restaurants to choose in St. Augustine. I was preparing for Kingfish Grill. However, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. The woman at the nightly cruise office mentioned to try the pizza place next door. We came as a party of 7 on a Sunday night and it was about a 1.5 hour wait. The food was all quite delicious and fresh, but their potato side was quite dry! Service was nice and their outdoor seating area is adorable! I'd recommend getting a reservation beforehand. I liked the fried green tomatoes and brisket verde a lot! read more

We were recommended a different restaurant but there was no room so we came to this one instead. I was surprised and glad that our experience was this good! Our drinks came quick, 5 minutes or less. Our food came out warm and it was delicious! I had the curry, really good and soupy. My husband ordered the fish of the day and a chick pea soup. Everything was delicious. We had the honey sea salt pie and it was amazing, for reference, I do not eat pie and I could not put my fork down. Highly recommend! The restaurant is noisy, it was packed but we still managed to have a conversation. read more

Very nice restaurant with delicious food and drinks. Pro's: Joseph was an awesome server. Best pork belly I ever had in the Biscuit and Belly appetizer. Crispy and yummy. The biscuit was amazing as well. Cool interior. We were seated by the bar but you can sit in the dining room or outside. All look like excellent options. Fried chicken in the fried chicken sandwich was huge and delicious. Golden Curry was so tasty and filling. A really nice dish. Mayan drink was complex and spicy, a great drink with a bite. Con's: None! Menu looks amazing and we will be back to try something else. Location is awesome, right near St George and King Streets. read more

Excellent! We came for lunch and loved every bite. The Floridian is also well priced. The soup of the day was hearty and very fresh, we could taste every ingredient including the cilantro which I always love. The tofu is also excellent and well seasoned which is also rare. read more

Floridian came highly recommended by aunt and uncle who are new residents from California. They highly recommend the Floridian but I was on the fence it was OK there were a few highlights, so it's all good. Hearty portions were a plus, but I would've ordered something other than the steak but nevertheless it was good for a first try. Everyone's plates around us were very hearty with sizable portions. The appetizer of fried green tomatoes honestly was the best out of everything. If you're in Saint Augustine definitely try the Floridian it's a historical spot with really good service and the outside patio would've been great for an elevated ambiance, but it was packed so I missed out. read more

Yes please We came here for lunch and it was amazing! I'm so glad to go places where they can accommodate me since I've became vegan! I tried their Autunm bowl plain! It was the perfect meal for me! The hubby had the cornbread stack and he was pleased with it as well! My son had the burger, he said it was good My daughter had the taco but she'd said it was too much and that she couldn't enjoy it! But definitely a spot for me yo come back to. Our host, was so kind from the beginning to assure me that I could eat there. Our waitress was very professional, she looked tired but was kind enough to give us the warmest service! The ambiance is nice, I loved the way they kept the originality of the house and turned it into what it is! So kudos to what ever is happening back there! I know I didn't see you, but you did well! Went last night with a group of 7, and we were all VERY impressed. Wait wasn't bad, only 40 minutes at 5:30PM. I loved that instead of using a buzzer, they took my phone number down and sent a text when our table was ready. We were able to walk around St. Augustine instead of having to wait at the restaurant. All of the staff members we met were helpful and kind. A few of us ordered drinks, and we all agreed they were strong but still tasted great. We all ordered something different for dinner and loved what we got! I highly recommend the grits and cornbread. For dessert, I ordered a slice of poppyseed grapefruit cake that was phenomenal. Wait time: We visited during a busy Saturday night, but made a reservation online beforehand so we got seated almost instantly. Service: was quick and friendly. nothing much to comment on except we got a chipped plate as a sharing plate, but we didnt know if it was part of the decor theme or not Ambiance: 9/10. We found the decor concept to be very interesting! It was as if you were over at a friend's place for a cozy dinner night. It definitely gave off Florida vibes with the alligator and beach themed decor. We shared food so they gave us extra plates, and the plates were mismatched and it felt like we were dining at a friend's place. We loved it. I have been to The Floridian and it has always been a great experience from start to finish! First off, they take reservations and actually set our table (recently for 11 adults and 2 toddlers) up ahead of time. When we arrived we were seated in less time than it took for me to use the restroom. The drinks are fresh and delicious featuring many local companies. The food is eclectic and fresh with options for nearly everyone (gluten and dairy free to keto). Thanks for a great time! read more

Most disappointing part of our trip. I don't get all the love for this place. Food was sub par. Sandwiches were mostly bread. FLT had one layer of tomato and the salad was soggy. Gross. My sons grilled cheese only had cheese on half. Daughter got the burger which was tiny and again mostly bread. Avoid this place. read more

Very let down on the taste of the food. Seeing the high reviews i was excited about eating here. I ordered the pulled pork on waffles with sweetened apples (I'm a pulled pork fanatic). The apples were so sweet that i couldn't even eat them which is surprising since i love any sweet. The pulled pork was mediocre at best. The waffles were just a mix of the apples and pulled pork which was off putting. My wife got the soup of the day and steak frites. She said her meal was just okay but wouldn't tell any friends and family. Ambiance was very home-like. Felt like we were in someone's living room which we enjoyed. Service was good too. Overall I'm giving this 2 stars because you go there to eat and nothing else there is worth the taste of the food. read more

This restaurant comes highly recommended by locals, and it's easy to see why. The ambiance, service, and food--both in taste and presentation--are satisfying. During my two-night stay, I had dinner here and found the Datil Tuna Bowl to be exceptionally flavorful. I highly advise making a reservation; otherwise, you may face a long wait, which can affect both your patience and appetite. When the weather permits, I strongly recommend sitting outside. I did so and had a splendid time. Despite dining alone, I felt well taken care of by the staff, who even protected my table from a group trying to take it without a reservation. While I was willing to give up the table, the staff rightly enforced their reservation policy. Once you're inside, they do their best to ensure a pleasant experience. read more

Their pork belly app is OUT OF THIS WORLD! My husband and I both agree that that was hands down the best thing we have ever eaten. We somehow got stuck with the boring lunch menu at 4:30 and it ruined everything, haha. I got the cornbread stack and my husband got the Bay of Pigs. Neither of us were impressed with our foods. Especially not after that insane concoction of flavors from that pork belly! The next two tables that were sat after us got the dinner menus. After hearing everyone talk about all of the fun menu items on those menus, I figured out that we just came a little too early. We will be back for DINNER ONLY (because lunch is boring) in hopes that the chef that came up with the Pork Belly dish works the night shift. Haha. Gluten free heaven!!!!! The Floridian has tons of gluten free and vegan options that are absolutely delicious! They are very knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination (they knew to mention the fryer was shared before I even asked! ) and I ate here without getting sick! The location is so cute, with beautiful garden dining and non tacky Florida themed inside dining. The food is incredibly fresh and local, they are literally getting beef delivered from a nearby ranch as we ate! We had the gluten free buttermilk biscuit and pork belly (with an apple butter I just wanted to drink) and it was perfect! I had the brisket tacos and a side salad (corn chips are made in a shared fryer) and they were the best brisket tacos I've ever had. Like I've never been happier in my life. The salad was super fresh and came with an amazing vinaigrette. My husband got the burger with fried green tomato. He said the meat quality was amazing, but he wasn't a fan of the hard ciabatta bun ( gluten people problems). They had a salaried caramel brownie that was gluten free and Omg I loved it! We went for lunch, but I'd love to go back for dinner and try some of the delicious cocktails they offered. Please take your gluten free ( and non gluten free) friends here, the food is fresh, delicious and safe for those of us who require gluten free dining. 10/10 would go back! We arrived before dinner started since we couldn't make reservations but we immediately got a table outside. Server was swift, personable and informative. Food was excellent. I'm gluten free and my husband is vegetarian. We both found delicious items on the menu and enjoyed our drinks of beer and wine. The prices were also really reasonable, in my opinion. All the dishes are freshly prepared and delicious. The servers are very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is great and they are dog friendly. Look, now. It is downright unreasonable to have so many delicious dishes and drinks on one menu! We ordered the gimlet, a Vesper, and a Summer Babe as drinks. Each one was perfectly balanced and delicious with thoughtful additions. For food, we ordered the pickled pepper shrimp, the Company's Coming selection (pickled veg, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes), and the cornbread stack to share. This team KNOWS how to pickle their veg!!! The acid to cut through the fat with a hint of spice was lovely. The cornmeal breading on the fried green tomatoes held up well and was very crisp. The pimento cheese didn't have the typical overly-generous application of mayo. The cornbread for the stack had a custard-like finish, a perfect lightly sweet flavor, and the fish was nicely prepared and not overcooked. Meet the Business Owner: Genie M.

Genie is the chef/owner extraordinaire of The Floridian. A true native (going back 8 generations on her mother's side), she grew up in Nassau County and cut her teeth in Gainesville at various restaurants while attending the University of Florida. Self-taught and driven, Genie and her husband Jeff (who runs the front-of-the-house) opened The Floridian in 2010 with the goal of bringing creative and dynamic dining downtown, coupled with a casual and comfortable atmosphere in which the food can be enjoyed. Her other passions include 4-year-old son Graham, traveling to warm water locales, snorkeling, interior designing and cats.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

One thing I love about this venue is their free shuttle system that takes you to your car (which is free parking) during the concerts. One tough thing about this venue is the merch line usually tends to get MASSIVE and I have seen people miss a handful of songs while waiting in it if an artist takes the stage. Pollstar consistently ranks The St. Augustine Amphitheater number three on it's ranking of the top 50 international amphitheaters.

I went last weekend for lunch with my boyfriend after a few trips over years. I was excited to come as I have enjoyed the food in the past. We ordered the pimento cheese arepas and were very disappointed. The pimento cheese was great (I love pimento cheese!), However, the arepas were raw inside. We sent them back to the kitchen and were told that is the way they are. Our waitress said they get a lot of complaints (about half of people who order them) and they are a very hit or miss item. She particularly didn't like them and said they were even a re-worked item on their menu. Their past version got lots of complaints as well. Word of advice for the chef/owners - if half of your customers don't like it, take it off the menu! Also, they need try a real arepa - they should not be the consistency of raw dough. When made correctly, they are a very delicious treat! We ordered some fried green tomatoes to replace this app and they were good. For our mains I ordered the fish sandwich which was great and my boyfriend ordered the chipwich on suggestion from the waitress. OMG, it was disgusting. It really was one of the worst things I've eaten from a restaurant. It was an over toasted, dry hoagie with dry chicken on it. It was stuffed with so much lettuce and dry chicken we couldn't even close the sandwich in a way that it could be eaten. After my boyfriend said it wasn't good, i tried it. It had some sort of sauce and blue cheese on it, but not enough to cancel out the huge amount of dry bread, dry lettuce and dry chicken, plus it smelled like a horse stall. I recommend taking this off the menu, too. I would visit this restaurant every time I went to St. Augustine, but now I think i'll look for something new on my next visit. read more

Bad night for the chef! Let's start with their reservations. We had a 7 pm reservation on 07.12.25, and a couple in front of us on the waiting list were seated ahead of us. When I gave them our name, the young lady said it'll be 15 to 20 minutes. When I questioned the young lady at the check-in desk, she said they were on a wait list. I asked her Why would we make a reservation? We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, which were razor thin! Our dinner was disappointing.
