Outstanding dinner tonight. Made reservations at 4:45 for the five of us. Seated right away. Plenty of parking. Our kids had drinks which they enjoyed. For starters their fried green tomatoes- outstanding taste perfectly cooked. I had shrimp and grits. Wife had pork chow chow. Others had fish tonight it was flounder. Everything was delicious. Trevor took excellent care of us. For dessert we shared a slice of key lime cheesecake really good. Love their new location here on the island.

Fantastic! We had our best dining experience of our entire Florida trip here, highly recommended. The space is great, the staff was excellent, and the food was far superior to everything else we had in the St. Augustine area! This is all made more impressive by the fact we went on Father's Day, without a reservation, and still had an overwhelmingly positive and above expected experience. Food really was excellent, not pictured is the fish of the day N' grits, and man can they do grits here! Recommend! It was all excellent, highly recommended!

    Steak frites! Delicious.

We had a fantastic dinner and experience when we were in town in July for the Dierks Bentley concert. The steak frites were absolutely memorable, and we LOVED the atmosphere! A huge thank you to Rebecca for the A+ service and great conversation. We'll definitely be back!

I was hoping to love this place, and while I did love the food and the beautiful outdoor patio looks great, they have some work to do. We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night, reservations were hard to get at standard dinner time, so we made a 4:30 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was less crowded - when we did leave about an hour later, it was much busier. The setting itself is plain inside - with such a beautiful outdoor setting, the inside looks more like a hospital cafeteria, with very bad acoustics. I don't know who designed the inside, but it's a very un-Floridian setting. The parking lot will also be interesting over time...when we arrived at 4:30 p.m., the lot was close to full, infringing upon the business next door, and by the time we left people were searching for spaces. This is definitely a place to make a reservation and arrive early. Our check-in process was a bit confusing, there's a check-in stand outside where nobody was hosting, and we assumed that was for the patio. We went inside where there's another check-in stand where we were told to go back outside to wait for the hostess so that she could check us in and bring us back inside. If you have to read that a few times, it's as confusing a process as it sounds. We were then seated at a table where we sat for 15 minutes (I started a timer after about 5 minutes) with no server, no drinks, just the two of us wondering at what point one of the many employees was going to pay attention to our table. After 15 minutes, we were approached by Rebecca who brought us drinks, and took our order. By that time, I was just hoping to get a decent meal and get out, since I really didn't expect much. Once dinner did arrive, the food was wonderful! I ordered a creative meal they have which is pulled pork barbecue and waffles, a creative play on Chicken and waffles (which they also offer). I have to give the chef a lot of credit - the meal was tasty and flavorful. Based upon the food, this restaurant would be a five star experience - regrettably with the service snafu and a very sterile environment, it's a four-star overall. Perhaps we'll return when the weather cools down a bit and we can enjoy the patio, as I don't look forward to returning to the dining room anytime soon.

Love the new location. This beautifully decorated Old Florida vibe setting was perfect for a Sunday brunch. My daughter and I enjoyed the great service we got from our waitress. Our table ordered the Pork belly biscuits and the cheese board. They were both delicious. The cheeses were fresh and well paired with the slice peaches and pecans. The pork belly's secret ingredient was the fancy mustard. We're looking forward to visiting again.

Plenty of Parking. Lovely outside patio seating, upscale open and airy dining room, and low key bar. Great combo to options. Good location to eat before AMP concert. Service was excellent. Our server took off the cava bottle we tried but didn't care for after 1st sip - brut that was usually sweet. She was aware of our concert time and managed our meals to get us out in plenty of time. The shrimp appetizer - good, but serving bowl didn't allow for easy access to delicious dipping sauce in bottom or condiments - cashews, pickled onions. I had the fresh catch - flounder- Veracruz. Sauce delicious- but again the flat bowl made access with a fork difficult. Also it only comes with grilled Johnny cakes which again can't really be dipped. I tried sauce with the corn bread and think that might be a better combo. Fish deliciously and properly cooked. My husbands Pop - Turkey meatloaf and mashed. Also yummy and not at all dry. We enjoyed the restaurant which opened last month and will be back.

I had passed by this new location on the way to St. Augustine Beach recently and it looked nice so we decided to give it a try for dinner tonight. The check-in process and initial service was a little slow but once we got our server things started to get better. It was a hot day so we reserved a table indoors. The interior has high ceilings so it appears bigger, but the acoustics were not great and it can get pretty loud. I also wished they would have brought some of that beautiful bright orange color scheme into the indoors. The outdoor section looks great. The menu offers plenty of appetizers, salads and mains. I went with the steak frites. It was a sirloin steak with delicious chimmachurri sauce, seasoned fries and a spiced rum cream sauce. Both sauces were excellent. My husband had the pulled pork and waffles entree. He loved it. We were too full for dessert but maybe next time.

This place was nice. I heard a lot of good things. I was excited for the 'N GRITS with shrimp, but the temperature was off. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. The grits were room temperature, when I expected them to be hot. The pork tenderloin was our other dish. The mashed potatoes were amazing! I have never had crispy spinach, quite reminiscent of seaweed. I could eat a bowl of them. The AUTUMN PORK TENDERLOIN was cooked well and very tasty. The Coquito Daydreamin' cocktail was yummy. Our server was very nice and attentive.

We went for lunch on Friday of 4th of July weekend. Got seated immediately without reservations. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside. There are several fans so it kept us comfortable and the bugs away. Great food, great service. Parking is limited though.

The food, service, and ambiance were all top notch. The soup stole the show but the lunch main courses were no slouch either.

    The taco (I got hungry)
    Joseph M.

It definitely deserves its reviews just based on the food alone. Funnily enough, the brisket in the tacos tasted like pulled pork, but they were so juicy it must have been beef. The shrimp was excellent and the fresh catch was super juicy. It was very bright with nice natural lighting, making it feel grand even though it's not necessarily a large building. Service was fast and polite, not outstanding but good. Prices weren't outrageous either.

A Cuban sandwich with a twist

The restaurant just reopened in their new location 2 days ago. They have a really nice outdoor seating area. They are also open on Mondays which is so nice. They are closed on Tuesdays. The servers looked like an experienced bunch and the service was excellent. It is a wonderfully curated menu where people with food allergies and sensitivities should be able to eat safely. My citrus salad with grilled chicken was a healthy, nutritious, high protein lunch. It was packed with such fresh, tasty ingredients. My husband enjoyed his Cuban sandwich. It had a different name and it looked like pulled pork instead of ham. He said it was great. It comes with tortilla chips or a side salad. I can't wait to go back and try other things.

    Any vegan options available?

Yes! My server told me many if not most of the items on the menu can be vegan. They have tempeh and tofu to sub in and some vegan sauces as well.

Does this place have a new chef? It's sadly nothing like it used to be a few years ago. :(

I don't know but when we went in June it was good.

    Is there a childrens menu?

    There is no children menu.

Are you "still" requiring face masks?

No face masks when we were there this week.

What are the best parking options for this restaurant?

At SE 2nd Court and SE 15th Avenue is a metered parking lots thats 1 block over from the Floridan.

Is the meat loaf sandwich available as a dinner option?

It was not when I went there. I think if you ask, they may make an exception!

Do you know if they reserve outside seating?

Yes we had a party of 8 reserved and seated outside!

Our mixologist was named Talon; he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He started by asking us what we usually like to drink (spirits and flavor profiles). Once we gave him the information he needed, Talon proceeded to make us some amazing cocktails. I absolutely loved mine and could have drank them all night. I tried some of my friends' drinks and they were all excellent as well. We ordered several appetizers to share (guacamole, wings, empanadas, and mojo chicharrones) plus beignets for dessert. Everything was very tasty! Talon came back over to ask us what options we'd like for our second round or drinks, so we all went with something different than the first order. Every cocktail he served us was really good and based on our individual tastes and preferences. I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Odd Birds regularly. The night we were there, they had a secret disco going on in the main dining area which sounded like a fun idea. I loved everything from the drinks, food, and interior decor. The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

The drinks here are very creative and all come with very generous pours, if you like rum this is a place you'll fall in love with after your first sip - we decided to just go down the drink menu and try as many as we could responsibly and immediately knew this would be a favorite when in the area. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite drink and it would be just as tough to pick a favorite off their small bite menu. We decided to try a few of the specials, it's a relatively simple menu but everything is filled with flavors that are incredible - the char-grilled oysters are plumb, fresh and unique in every way, the fried black grouper bites were crispy served with a delicious remoulade and a spicy jalapeño chimichurri that will light up your tastebuds, we also tried the jerk chicken thighs skewers and amazing crab empanadas filled with a curry concoction like no others. The portions are large enough to share and really balance out the cocktails, this was a really nice experience and one I plan to repeat in the near future, with all the options in St. Augustine this one is at the very top of the list in my opinion and with parking at a premium in the area they have plenty, definitely worth a try...
