Friday breakfast. The menu here is full of so many great dishes, it is a challenge to choose just one. I opted for the Piedmont Omelette. Delicious cheesy and full of yummy meats and veggies. The creamy dreamy grits are the best I've ever had. So lusciously creamy and buttery. You don't even need to salt. Coffee is great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside on the patio in nice cool weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was ok but we had to get up to get our condiments and sugars. I still highly recommend if in the Matthew's Charlotte area.

My cousin and I did a long walk at squirrel lake park and went to brunch after. We were seated outside quickly and our waitress greeted us with much needed waters. I ordered a buffaloes chicken wrap with chips and my cousin got a breakfast plate. Everything came out quickly and was good. You can't go wrong with their menu! I recommend adding a side of ranch to go with the chips!

First time at this location and honestly was not impressed. Walked up around 10:45 am just to see what the wait time would be for 2 people. We were immediately sat which was great. Unfortunately, we waited for about 20 minutes before our waitress came out to take our order, and that's only because I asked if our waitress could come out and at least take our drink order. Ordered their pancake tacos, and their piedmont omelet. Honestly, the omelet was not that great. The bacon bits inside were super black and burnt and tasted very old. The egg also just tasted like it had been sitting out under a light. It was very dry and just did not have any taste to it. The biscuit was very cold, dry, and hard. Not fluffy at all. The only tasty things were the grits and the dust potatoes. Those were very delicious. Warm, crisp, and very well marinated. Wouldn't come back again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a charming eatery with a cozy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a go-to spot for breakfast and brunch. One of the standout items on their menu is the waffle, which is perfectly golden and crispy on the outside while remaining fluffy on the inside. I also enjoyed their creamy grits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is intimate and welcoming, though the tables tend to be on the smaller side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether you're there for the waffles, grits, or just a warm cup of coffee, you'll most likely leave satisfied.

Deconstructed biscuit, eggs, and gravy (at my request) - so good!

My husband and I have been to this location of Flying Biscuit a couple of times. It's a little smaller than the Park Road location, but a perfect location to have breakfast before visiting Matthews Alive during Labor Day weekend. I like their Biscuit, Eggs, and Gravy dish. Their chicken sausage gravy is SO good, and I also love their creamy grits (it reminds me of Midnight Diner's version). I asked for the biscuit on the side this last visit so I could hand it over to my husband, and they delivered all of the components in a deconstructed fashion. Very cool! The scrambled eggs are always perfectly done here, too. My husband loves their Hangover Hash, with over-medium eggs. They are generous with their queso portion, and they always cook the eggs just right. Their biscuits are really good, too, especially with the apple butter that's available on every table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Matthews location is a little more cramped than Park Road.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is pretty speedy, however, even on a busy festival weekend. We'll definitely return!

Not bad. Went for breakfast and sat outside. We didn't have a reservation but were quickly seated. Menu is pretty good. I had basically a deconstructed egg, bacon and cheese biscuit. Just had coffee and water this visit. Server was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nice breakfast.

Yummy breakfast food! I have enjoyed their food. I had the smoked salmon & egg omelette with potatoes and biscuit. Very good flavor and portions. We came for lunch and had a wonderful service. They were super fast. I parked by the shops down the road because things are always busy. I love their biscuits! Fluffy and delicious!

    Easter breakfast.

I'm sorry to say that this was the worst coffee I've ever had. No flavor at all. It tasted like watered down milk. They should probably fix their menu because calling that a cafe con leche was completely misleading. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.

My husband said he prefers his hash browns more browned and crunchy; and that his biscuit could have been a little better, but he was still pleased with his meal. I have no complaints about my pancake and turkey sausage. The thing I liked most about this place was that there were many choices on the menu, and the prices were reasonable. Finally, a place you can enjoy that has good food, a nice atmosphere and won't cost you an arm and a leg. This is closest to a real diner that I've eaten at in a long time. As we waited for our food to come out (which didn't take long at all), we noticed other waitstaff delivering amazing-looking food to tables. Our mouths were watering!! We will definitely be back. Typically, when someone from a restaurant reaches out to me about my review, especially when they are not 5 star, I instantly become skeptical. However, this owner made me feel comfortable to share my thoughts and explain how my visit went before anything else. Over the years, I have received tons of owners offering me a free meal in exchange for my integrity but I could tell this owner was extremely genuine and wanted to make sure my voice was heard. The initial post will remain the same but I wanted to amend some of the initial remarks including the service. The first time I tried this place, I received service that was not in alignment to the core values and standards this restaurant upholds, which, I am human and I have worked in food service for years so trust me, I get it. Since being back twice since my initial visit, I have been treated like family. The service has been up to par and the staff has been incredibly friendly. As far as the ambiance, it gives the feel of an old diner which makes it charming and lovable. Perhaps, some restorations and furnishings can be done nothing that isn't manageable. Lastly, I wanted to make sure to do a thorough review of the menu so when I went back twice after my initial review, I tried a menu item for each the breakfast menu and the dinner menu. The food was great! It was favorable, warm and packed with fresh ingredients. I tried the ribs and Mac and cheese as well as a breakfast plate on two separate occasions without letting the restaurant know I was coming back for a remake. The only thing I wasn't super thrilled about was the Mac and Cheese, other than that it was good. It goes to saying that their standards are commendable as they do care about their service, food and experience of the customers.

Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle.
