I was so hungry and found this place on Uber with a BOGO deal. Just landed in SD and all the traveling just hit me all at once when we got to the final destination. I checked Yelp naturally to make sure the place was okay and the reviews were better than I expected. I can second all the good reviews. This burger and fry combo is just what I needed. The burger was super flavorful, like the addition of the spinach. Wasnt weird at all and knowing i got some healthy greens somewhere in this meal, makes me feel less guilty about the calories lol. The burgers don't disappoint! They aren't one of those super large burgers but enough to finish without feeling too overstuffed. I got the Lewis with onion fries and pretty good! My mates got the Calvin which imo looks smart and said they wished the chihuahua cheese had more of a kick. The truffles fries were very good fresh! Hamburgers are unique, portions are large. Children can probably share a meal, as well as parents. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. Games for kids which is a huge plus. Not your average burger joint but can definitely get an average burger if that's your thing. Suggestions: a wine/beer license and using the television to turn on games would probably bring in more Pacific Beach traffic. Also, the televisions and games could use a good wipe down. The food here is pretty fire but the customer service is not it. I've come plenty of times with my coworkers to pickup our takeout and every time this one worker always sees us walk in and just straight up ignores us. Not sure why he does this constantly but I even rang the bell upfront and it wasn't until another customer came in a yelled "hello?? can we get some help", he finally came out. There was no line, and our food was ready about 10 minutes after ordering. The staff were friendly, and the space was clean, well-lit, and roomy. Got the Lewis ($14.99) Angus smashed beef patty marinated pork, smoked bacon, chihuahua and cheddar cheese, onion rings, ketchup, chipotle mayo, sriracha mayo, spinach and tomato. I've had the Churro bowl before too, that was awesome! Freshly made churro formed into a bowl, filled with soft serve, and topped with caramel sauce.. Get it, you won't be disappointed! Driving down Garnet Ave I often see a new place to eat.  I noticed The Food Box and gave them a try. I ordered a burger with bacon, tomato, and beef.  There are lots of fancier options here.  There was a nice char on the beef.  Bacon was crunchy and had a salty flavor.  Tomato was fresh and juicy.  Solid burger and good size for lunch.  If I was hungrier I'd add pork. 2nd visit I tried the Lewis which featured a patty with beef brisket and marinated pork.  Patty had lots of flavor.  The onion ring added some fried onion flavor.  Bacon was crunchy and added a smoky and salty flavor.  Spinach and tomato added some moisture and freshness.  Very good tasting burger. Onion rings had an amazingly thin and crunchy batter.  Delicious fried onion flavor. My family of 4 came in for dinner using the Synergy Gift Card that we received. No issues using it either. The place is clean and has nice vibe. Overall the food was good. My kids love Hodads and made the comparison with Hodad's being the baseline. Burgers were filling and made to order. We probably waited 10-15 minutes. The burgers had really good flavor and were juicy. I personally like it better than Hodads and I got the kids meal which definitely fit my appetite perfectly. It seems expensive, but I feel the norm nowadays is $20/meal for something similar. Onion rings were nice and crispy and didn't come apart when eating. The fries were good, as well, not too oily. If we lived closer to this location, I could see coming here more often. But would definitely come again when in the area looking for a good burger. The only negative that night was the temperature in the shop. It was a cool night and they had the fan running and seemed like a cool breeze was coming through. Right on the main strip in Pacific Beach, you've got quite a bit of choices to eat, but this is definitely the burger spot to choose. The price point is a little high, but the food is absolutely worth it. They greet you with a warm welcome, and it's a nice cozy little location, they also have a few seats on the patio out front. They have some massive burgers that hit the spot! My two personal favorites are the Billy Cheeseburger! It's a double smashburger. And if you're feeling like a big massive monster burger I highly recommend the Spurgeon Infit Burger... It has chicharron on it!! They also have incredible milkshakes. Highly recommend the mazepan milkshake! They also have some really tasty chicken tenders with some good dipping sauces. Parking is a little bit of a pain, and Pacific Beach recently added parking meters which makes it even more annoying.. but if you don't mind parking a few blocks away it's a nice short walk and it feels good before you go into grab a bite! The spicy mayo dip is the real winner. I got the most basic burger on the menu and I was so blown away to the point I wish I had ordered other burgers to try. The beef was so top quality almost like a farm to table quality and the bacon was so thick and juicy. I am not sure if this place was new but it definitely looked like it was. Wow is this place worth the hype! I've been seeing it all over Instagram. I got a Groupon for this place and decided to try it. Easy to use it, just show at register. Parking: street only, a little tough. There are a few paid lots of block or so away. Seating inside and out. Staff friendly. Ordered: took awhile for the food but they were busy.
