Was chaperoning for high school band event and found myself in downtown GSU area. Upon entering this place, I recalled buying from food here many years ago but I forgot to leave review. Gumbo was solid. Large chunks of rotisserie chicken, andouille sausage and crawfish. To comes with a piece of garlic bread. The soup was seasons well. I can taste the spices but not too overwhelming. Friendly service from the people that work there.

This restaurant had some of the best jambalaya! This small, mom and pop shop was so incredibly tasty. I was visiting from out of town and was craving some soul food and boy did this live up to the standards. I got the jambalaya, red beans with sausage & rice, and the voodoo chicken & Mac. Everything was so incredibly affordable with portion sizes that exceeded my expectations. I had left overs for days and I got the small sizes of everything! My favorite dish was definitely the jambalaya. The jambalaya was great for tasting all the meats. The Mac n cheese was so cheesy and fresh. My favorite meat however was definitely the sausage, however all the plates had some version with sausage. The employees were so kind and helpful and had great southern hospitality. The food was made fresh and took less than 10 minutes to make. If I'm ever back in the Atlanta area, I will be coming here again. Also great location in terms of downtown. Best food, best prices, and best portions!

If there's one thing this place doesn't lack it's FLAVOR. I ordered the Pasta Yaya which is a creamy pasta that traditionally comes with sausage and shrimp. However, I chose to opt out of the sausage and substitute it with chicken instead. I also ordered their banana bread pudding and a strawberry Fanta to go. All of this for approximately $27. By the time I got back to my hotel the food was still nice and hot. First thing I dug into was the pasta and as I stated before, it was full of flavor. In fact I would deem it a little too seasoned. I don't even want to know the amount of sodium that is in that pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta wasn't for me. However, that banana bread pudding is to die for, it is delicious. It had this amazing caramelized syrup drizzled all over it, it was hot, it was sweet but not overbearing. An easy 10/10! The lady who rung me up was sweet and listed the most popular items on the menu. Even though the pasta wasn't for me, I wouldn't mind coming back and trying their other items like the jambalaya. I would 100% come back for the banana bread pudding- it was scrumptious!

A small restaurant with two tables for around eight people and several spots with counter stools. Luckily for my group, there was no one sitting at the tables, as there were seven of us. The service is very friendly, which adds to its charm. The food is fine, but it is not the best jambalaya I've tasted. I tried my friend's banana pudding, and that was quite good. I recommend getting that for dessert. I saw several people order the po'boy, which looked good. I would consider trying that. They also sell Zapp's chips - I love the plain chips and can't find them where I live, so I bought several bags here. The Food Shoppe is decent for takeout or a quick casual meal, but nothing more than that.

The Voodoo Jambalaya and Creole Chicken Pasta were amazing! The Shrimp and Grits as well: I would like to be a bit less salty. Wait was long but totally worthed it. Convenient location and there were a lot of customers getting take out. We got take out too. Will come again!

As a fellow small business owner, I don't say this lightly this place is something special. We've been in Atlanta for two days and have already come back twice because it's just that good. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming and intentional. The staff is genuinely kind and clearly takes pride in what they do. The food truly some of the best I've ever had. We'll absolutely be back every time we're in Atlanta. Keep doing exactly what you're doing it's working!!!

The vibes were good and the food was absolutely amazing! We tried the voodoo jambalaya, the pasta yaya, and the bread pudding. Would 100% go back again.

Came by for a quick dinner before a Hawks game on a Tuesday night. Not busy but had a few other folks getting take out. Note that all items are packaged in take out form. Not much seating inside. Super friendly staff. Ordered the lobster bisque, pasta yaya, and jambalaya. The jambalaya was AMAZING. Great textures, full of flavor, tender chicken, shrimp, and sausage. I would get it again. The pasta was also good, but the lobster bisque essentially had the same flavor so I wish we didn't get the bisque - there was no lobster in it either, just shrimp. FYI - everything is VERY pepper-y in case you don't like things spicy. Overall would def recommend if you're in the area and looking to try some creole food.

Hands down the best! The customer service, food portion size, & price. The jambalaya & chocolate cake was Please check them out.

This place was a great find. You walk up and place your order. I had the jambalaya and my husband had the southern Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. It was crowded at lunchtime. There are only a few tables inside and they were all taken, but by the time our food was ready, a table opened up. I wanted to take our food to the nearby Olympic Park, but we ate inside the restaurant. Nothing fancy - just good food.

What are the REAL hours? I arrived at 5:34 pm on a Wednesday to find The Food Shoppe closed. There's no hours sign on the door and Yelp says it's open until 7pm.

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

That said, the aesthetic feels less Buckingham Palace and more whimsical London antique shop -- charming & eclectic. I ordered the blueberry lavender matcha and a breakfast plate. The menu names were definitely on brand, but not quite catchy enough for me to remember them later. Both were solid, though, and hit the spot. Service was a highlight. The cashier really leaned into the accent and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, which made the whole experience feel more immersive and welcoming. Parking was easy on an early weekday afternoon -- always a win. The space works well for small parties, but be prepared: tables are small and seating is close together. One tip: avoid sitting upstairs in Eden. It's noticeably warmer than the rest of the restaurant, and you'll likely leave smelling like breakfast. Overall, a fun, themed spot with great service. But I don't think I'll be back.

Seating is casual - find a spot to sit and then order from the digital menu at the door. Orders are taken at the counter but entrees and drinks are brought to your table. Everyone's meal looked amazing and not a crumb was left. We left with some of the canned whiskey drinks - Strawberry Whiskey Sour and Kentucky Mule made with bourbon. Josh said best enjoyed mixed together! The photo opps, food, drinks and aesthetics are so good here. Only comment is that the tables are pub or cafe style and best for small groups or just takeover a section like we did. Enjoy!

One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. Unless you're lucky enough to find street parking, you'll have to park in the garage, which wasn't my favorite. Other than that, everything was great. The bartender was incredibly kind and patient, especially since I'm very picky about drinks. She helped me choose one that I ended up loving. SUPER unimpressed with my visit here…read more Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Oh, and that other party that was visibly irritated with the wait had to wait even longer because there was a hair in their food.
