We went this past Saturday for lunch. We arrived before crowds, there was only one or two tables sat when we arrived. Our server wasn't great. She messed up our drink order and our food order and wasn't very attentive. When one of the wrong meals was delivered to our table, we couldn't get anyone's attention to switch it out so I had to take the tray to the hostess stand and wait for someone to come to get it switched. The food also didn't all arrive at once so by the time we were all served, the rest of our food was cold. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The burgers were fine. This place was interesting and not what you'd expect. Located in a basement-like area, it was absurdly large. As you enter, you see a space with games and arcade machines of the like. As the waitress leads you deeper into the space, you see pool tables and chairs. Then the space really opens up to a huge area with TV's and dining tables in one corner. The middle ish area has these lounge chairs and coffee table for a more intimate interaction. And the space against the wall had darts or some sort of game (I can't remember). Our group ordered some beer and things to snack on: * Cheese curds basket: The Ellsworth cheese curds were salty and pretty oily. I suppose these puppies were fried because they definitely go well with a beer. Overall pretty good but I think the least favored out of the group. * Truffle mac & cheese: The truffle flavor (oil) was there, but it wasn't overwhelming. The cheese itself was cheesy and gooey. Apparently it's their own blend. And with it being baked with panko bread crumbs, this aspect provided a nice crunch that truly was divine. I definitely enjoyed each bite. I'd say the mac & cheese here is a contender for a top spot in my book. * Smoked brisket poutine: The fries (shoe string) were aplenty. The best thing about this pick was how it soaked up the gravy and juices from the 18 hour smoked brisket. The cheese curds were all melted atop everything and was ever so yummy. Okay. I now see the cheese theme going on. But we were heading to a soccer event so I guess loading up on the carbs wasn't a terrible idea. The prices were so so for this part of town. The food overall was pretty good. They were oily and greasy as heck but good none the less. I'm still confused as to why they charged us $0.50 each for the sauce when it's advertised as part of the menu. The hubs definitely didn't like the automatic 20% gratuity. Located in the heart of Atlanta, walking distance from a number of hotels... this themed bar is a MUST if you are into the combo experience of great food and entertainment. The service here was top-notch as our quaint party of four was checked on frequently, (shout out to Phil, the owner!) and never waited long for any requests. Come with an appetite, because making a choice on what to eat here is definitely difficult with such a high quality variety of options you may just end up wanting to order more than you can finish. This was the perfect spot to stop after a World Cup game at the stadium. We were looking for a place with good drinks, food, and somewhere to catch the afternoon games, and Skol Brewery checked all the boxes. It was packed and definitely seemed a little understaffed, but these are busy times, and a little extra patience goes a long way for the people in the industry as they are working so hard. Our server was so sweet and did an awesome job keeping up with the rush. We tried the Northern Lights (Light American Lager) and the Skol Nation (Cold IPA), and both were great. For food, we shared the Smoked Brisket Poutine and the Half Chicken with coleslaw and creamy corn. Everything was really good! The place is huge and even has an arcade, which was fun. This place is surprisingly large. We came before visiting Centennial park for a event. They have enough event space for an arcade and axe throwing games, both of which was completely empty on a Friday night. I don't know how this place pays the rent. We spent $100 for 4 beers and 3 appetizers. The prices were OK for downtown ATL. The place felt very empty with maybe 5 other tables but it's a great place to watch sports. Cheese curds basket: Cheesy, crunch, and salty. It tastes great the first few bites but we really struggled with to get through it all with the grease. Truffle mac and cheese: Wife's request. Good flavor, mild truffle flavor. Smoked brisket poutine: Probably my favorite. The meat was plentiful and balanced. There was more variety on the plate than the other two appetizers. Service was good, we had our waters refilled plenty of times and the server left us mostly alone to watch TV. I didn't love the mandatory 20% included gratuity for just 3 people. Would I come back? I appreciate the Norsemen theming, however, the margarita tasted like pineapple juice, oddly, and was disappointed they couldn't put on The Braves game. I could not believe how giant this space is. So it's no surprise they're trying to do many different things with it: brewery, arcade, golf sims, axe throwing, who knows what else. It's such a huge black box space that I'm not sure a few posters are enough to make it Viking themed. Most games require additional payment, but bocce and a few others don't, which was a fun surprise. We went primarily to watch some of a big sporting event. They had it on all the tvs, and there are so many! There are some setup issues however. On the big wall, sets of several tvs are lined up as mega tvs, but in one case, the ratio isn't right so the picture is substantially stretched; in another, the alignment isn't right so it's distracting where the screens come together; on some of the standalone tvs, the contrast is really off, making some colors (and people) look weird. The beer was good, and the only food we had was a giant pretzel, it was better than average. The most surprising thing was getting a $10 draft of craft beer...and having it served in a disposable plastic cup. I'm not a glassware purist, but that doesn't make it seem impressive. read more

Skol Brewing was mediocre at best. We came in for dinner and our server was great but we had a negative experience with another. I ordered the turkey, ham, bacon club and requested no ham. When I got the club, it was very large and already fell apart before I had a chance to pick it up. There was no way I could eat it as a sandwich. After a couple bites, I realized there was no bacon. I notified a server (mine was busy) and the server didn't say anything at all, no apology and walked away. Zero communication, and a few minutes later I get two pieces of soft, part raw bacon on a tray. As if I'm expected to put bacon on a sandwich that has already fallen apart. I notify my server to let her know my bacon is raw and she goes back and brings two more slices that look cooked. My server was nice but the kitchen seemed to be a mess. The turkey was extremely dry and my sandwich was more of deconstructed turkey bread bowl. I don't think I'd come here for food again but my husband liked the beer. read more

I stopped in for a beer before dinner on a Sunday early evening. Apparently just missed the Minnesota Vikings fan club watching a game on TV. It was a large open dining room with a bar on one wall, lots of huge TVs, and Viking decor. In a separate room in the back there are axe-throwing lanes. Our table had a tiny lamp, without which it would have been kind of dark. The menu had a whole page of beers, several IPA versions, some German and Czech styles, and a sour. I had the sour, and it was great. Also on the menu some typical bar food like appetizers, sandwiches, and so on. Items leaned in to to Viking/Minnesota theme such as the Nordic smoked fish spread and the Juicy Lucy sandwich. We walked here on a Wednesday night after leaving a book launch event at the Central Library. Yes you can also do axe throwing at this location so make it a dinner and an axe throw type of night. We ordered the bacon double cheeseburger and it was good. It was seasoned well and the patties were cooked excellently. My only complaint is the bun coverage. I'm sure this is a style of burger; however, it looks like they're trying to save on meat or ran out and just used the little bit they had left because the meat patties did not fit with the size of the bun so there were some bites of the sandwich that were only bread and lettuce because the meat patties are so small. The Brussel sprouts were good but lack any healthy nutritional value so don't enjoy them for that, enjoy them because they're well seasoned Brussel sprouts. The fries were skinny and great like I like em so no complaints there. I'd go back to this restaurant, just wouldn't order a burger. read more

Came in last month for a team outing with my company! We're located up the street, so we walked, but saw a parking garage right across the street for those driving! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and seated until the rest of our party joined and until another axe throwing bay opened up. Our waitress was very attentive to us and great about explaining everything and how the whole flow of the axe throwing worked. Plenty of tvs turned to various sports to watch and it was a good volume so we could make small talk as we sat down. Once we transitioned to our axe throwing bay, we had the pleasure of being instructed by the owner on different techniques and different games we could play. They even gave us white board and markers to keep score. During this whole time, our waitress didn't miss a beat in continuing our drink orders and getting us food! Food: we ordered fries, chicken tenders, the dip, and nachos for the table. Wouldn't recommend chicken tenders for a large group unless you get multiple servings. Food was decent, nothing to write home about! Drinks: I had espresso martinis, delicious. This was my first time axe throwing, so I was a bit apprehensive.. sharp objects.. throwing them? But it was honestly a whole lot of fun and didn't feel as dangerous as it looked! This place is huuuuge! Not sure they are getting all of this space but it's enormous. There is a bar restaurant area near the front. They have a full arcade with tons of games, mostly the interactive type (think driving a car instead of Mortal Kombat). Then there is another equally large area with pool tables and axe throwing. The food was pretty good. I had the brisket chili and it was tasty enough. The beer selection was a little weak and pricey (I know I'm downtown), but it was a good stop overall. This is a cool bar and restaurant located in downtown Atlanta. Lots of old wood styling throughout keeping a vintage look with a trendy feel. Skol has only been open a few months but they are doing great work. We stopped in for dinner while downtown for a rock show. The space is huge, well staffed, and looks nice. We sat at the bar doing happy hour and OMG the happy hour specials are excellent. It was delicious food with great pricing. I started with the cheese curds. These were cooked as there are supposed to be in Wisconsin. Maybe could have used a little salt and I prefer marinara but to each his own. Chris had the Brussel sprouts and I was shocked at how good they were. Sometime you get them and they are kinda meh but not here! The fried pickles were good, and they are slices if you like those. The burger was very good, very meaty with plenty of veggie condiments to compliment the giant pile of delicious and crispy fries. We had a pitched of the brown ale which was maybe just a little too sweet but very good. Our bartender was very nice and helpful. A fellow who was a manager or owner came over to chat us up for a while and thank us for having out. These folks are friendly! Beer was good, they only had two of their own brews. 1st trip sat at bar entertained by the bartender. The decor was on point. The axe throwing was fun, but definitely expensive. 2nd time Super slow wait staff, didn't get any service for almost 15 mins and it was pretty dead. We had food this time. It was tasteful! Skol has finally opened in Downtown Atlanta! After teasing us with posters and IG stories for years, they finally opened in January 2025. My husband and I popped in for a beer while out for the night and were seated at the bar with an enthusiastic staff. The manager on duty walked us through what beers were actually on tap from their menu. They weren't fully operational because they had only opened in the last 2 weeks. I mentioned their cocktail looked delicious and they offered to make me it on the house. There was an uneven balance between bartenders and patrons, so they were happy to make a drink and chat for a few minutes. I can't remember the name of the drink, but it was gin-based with glitter and champagne. Boy, was it strong! My husband had to finish my beer while I sipped on that. Skol is attached to an axe-throwing spot next door, and has a large back room for parties and tons of board games. We will be bringing out monthly Saturday night drinking club here to test them out in the future. A great spot for a no-nonsense beer in downtown! read more

I believe the oil in the fryer was too hot. The breading which was a little thick was extra crispy on the outside but doughy on the inside and the fish not cooked. I sent it back and opted for the pulled pork sandwich. While the coleslaw was excellent the pork was salty. The manager Phil was pleasant. I sat at the bar, the last available seat. I'm torn on this review because it's a really cool place But... it's a little chaotic. We were here on a Saturday night and they were busy. We sat at one of the High top tables where you have to go up to the bar to order rather than waiting 25-30 for a table. My husband went to order our drinks and an appetizer. He came back with our drinks and a number for our food. We sat and drank and chatted and still no food, we waited longer and still nothing. After waiting over 30 minutes he went back up to the bar and canceled the order. Apparently they had made the order but no one could find our table.
