My organization held an event here recently - I'd never been before so I had no idea what to expect. The spot is actually really big. There's a split - one side is seating and a dance floor type atmosphere and the other side is more set up to have an event because there is a stage. Great ambiance, lighting and everything. The food is GOODT. We got the boudin rolls, sliders and fries for the group, all very good. And the DRANKS, not drinks are good and SKRONG for a very nice price. I don't know what the regular side is like but we definitely had a great time for our event and it's a definite return to spot for us if we hold anything in the future. read more

I brought my family here from out of state and it was such a disappointment. The venue is large with pool tables and plenty of screens. I ordered a Moscow mule and had to send it back because it had no ginger beer. They got it right the second time around. I also ordered the wings and fries and upgraded to sweet potato fries which they didn't have. My cousin ordered turkey burger with a side salad without lettuce and it came with nothing but lettuce. Another family member ordered chicken sliders that were dry. The strawberry lemonade lemon drop was good but not great. Overall the service was ok. The guy from the back tried to make it up to us. Came to Foxtrap for Valentine's Day with my boo and the vibe had potential, but the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. We were greeted immediately by the host and seated right away--honestly, that was the smoothest and best service we received all night. After that... things slowed down a lot. It took forever for our waitress to come to the table. I tried to give grace since it was Valentine's Day, but the place wasn't even crowded, so the delay was confusing. Now let's talk about the lavender lemon drop--because when it finally arrived? Whew. Delicious. Smooth, flavorful, and dangerously sneaky. I genuinely couldn't taste the alcohol, which is both a compliment and a warning . The wait time for the drink was long, but the payoff was there. For food, we ordered the Trap Trio (egg rolls, chicken sliders, and wings). Everything tasted good, though we asked for grilled chicken sliders and received fried instead. This is located next to the Popeyes and in the juicy crab. Parking is plentiful and there is no charge. The waitress was very nice and the happy hour was great. The service was slow and the AC was not working, which left not only us but the waitresses sweating also. My Cajun Pasta as you see I ordered with shrimp extra for $18 was worthless. As you see the shrimp the placed in my pasta were cut in pieces to make it seem like amount. Which I've never seen before !!! I got the wet garlic spicy wings as well but they definitely weren't garlic spicy flavor. It was more buffalo taste smh. Salmon was so good!! Bartenders and service was excellent. I went on a wed night. Not many people there. The ambiance was good. I use to come here a lot before the new owners and change of venue. It's not my crowd but the service and food was excellent. I don't like that they demand a $75/hold on credit cards for tabs and also they auto grat by 20% every tab even if you're by yourself at the bar. I was invited here as a first time visitor. There is ample parking outside and the inside is divided up into several sections. We set to the furthest left section after. The group there had a dj while the football game was on. The service was pretty good and drinks reasonably priced. I did get to try some of the food and the shrimp and fish plate was very good. After the game we went to the patio area where there is a covered and uncovered area both with several TVs. There is also an area next to the patio where there is a giant tv made up of several smaller TVs. I throughly enjoyed myself and I will return again to watch a game. read more

Planned a happy hour meet up here. I saw all the reviews about the food so wanted to try them. We got there at 445. Doors opened at 4. We walked in and the few workers there were just chilling. The bartender just yelled out that we could sit anywhere. So that's what we did. Sat there for 20 minutes and no one came to help us. During our free time we looked up another spot to go to. This place works for me starting with a big hello after walking through the door by Foxy C. The Fox Trap is a very large venue that is perfect for large groups or a one on one with someone special. The walls are black and packed with televisions. The bar is huge and you'd be lucky to get Foxy C as your bartender, a skilled mixologist with a big personality. They also have excellent food to match the cocktails. I loved the lamb sliders which were cooked to perfection and surprisingly tender served with fries. Food/Happy Hour: Drinks & appetizers are reduced prices for happy hour (HH) I got the trio trap appetizer which consists of 3 chicken wings (you pick flavor), 2 boudin egg rolls, & 2 sliders.( shrimp or chicken, grilled or fried) HH price was $15, regular price is $22. Additional slider protein options exist (lamb, salmon, chicken, turkey catfish) if you place just a slider order. Grilled shrimp slider option is different & they were tasty. 2 shrimp per slider. 2 boudin egg rolls and 3 chicken wings, spicy garlic, were both very good. The spicy garlic is flavorful with a hint of spiciness, not hot. Drinks: Drink menu had some different signature drinks that all sounded pretty tasty. Love the variety of options. I opted for a pineapple old fashion. It has bourbon & mezcal for a nice balanced drink. Just a tad sweet for me so I'd ask for little less sweet next time. Service: Service was great. The bartender, Foxy C. greeted us & all the customers upon entry. She made great drinks & had such a pleasant disposition. The background was nice R&B, just the right volume to enjoy yet be able to have conversation The place has 4 distinct eating/gathering areas plus the bar. They all flow into each other. 1 area has pool tables. 1 area has a stage. I visited on a weekday evening but the bartender says they sometimes have multiple DJs in the different sections to provide different music on the weekends. I will definitely return. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was easily the worst service I've had in a long time. "Happy Hour" is a complete joke when there's an automatic 20% gratuity and the bartender asked for a tip after failing to return our change--very questionable. After waiting 40 minutes, we were served wings that honestly looked like they had been returned from another table, paired with frozen carrots and no sauce at all. No apology. No explanation. Just dropped off like that was acceptable. I haven't been out in a while, and this experience reminded me exactly why. Poor service, poor food, and zero accountability. Westheimer has a new spot. Stopped in for brunch and some college football. They have plenty of parking and seating available. They had complimentary mimosas when you walked in. Nice decor and lots of space there are like 3 different rooms/spaces in here plus a patio. They offer hookah, brunch, full bar, and pool. The brunch was good, nice, crispy catfish seasoned well. If you're not a grits lover, this might not be for you. Grits to me was the star. You could oder them with catfish, shrimp, or lambchops. The French toast was nice and sweet served with a bourbon glaze, almost resembled dessert to me,it was very rich. I was surprised it wasn't too packed for a Saturday. I played a little pool with my friends and enjoyed 2 mimosa carafes. To me, the orange is the best. The pineapple and cranberry seemed to overpower the champagne they used. My only issue is for pool they hold your ID, and I left without getting it back after a few hours. i forgot about it, and so did the waitress. I went back Sunday to retrieve it, and it was chaos. I waited over 1 hour for my ID to be returned as there wasn't a designated place behind the bar. While I was waiting, 4 couples left due to waiting over 45 minutes to be sat. They seemed to be understaffed for brunch and football Sunday. This place has potential, but there are a few housekeeping things they need to get in order. I'd love to come back, but Sunday clearly is not the day for great service, so I'll stick to a weekday or Saturday when there is a smaller crowd that is manageable. read more

We had to take our girlfriend to the IHA airport (Bush Airport) in Houston. We decided to try the restaurant that we saw on TikTok called THE FOX Trap restaurant. Huge inside with a full bar and plenty of televisions all over. For starters, we began by Popping Bottles (Champagne) with pineapple juice and orange juice; cause ' It's 5 o clock somewhere. Our server was La La and she was Amazing and so was the Chef along with the rest of the staff. All of the Food was Delicious...super delicious. First time trying this spot. Decor was nice, clean floors and tables. Music was cool. I'm big on customer service, especially places with automatic gratuity... Hostess was DRY but we were seated. Received water after about 5 mins. Waitress comes to the table in the next 5 to take orders..: she was dry in all the dryness she got 2 of my shots wrong and missed a whole order of food‍. The guy who brought the food was nice smiling and attentive as was the dishwasher. Food was good, wings bussin. It was not busy at all, but by the time our waitress came to check on us we were done eating and ready for the check. What I couldn't get over was the pepper flavored overkill for the greens and the mashed potatoes. We waited about 30 minutes before being helped, and I eventually had to walk to the front to ask for service. When our server came, she said she would help us, but throughout the visit it felt like she was very inexperienced, almost as if it was her first time serving, as there were multiple issues. Our order was taken, but one of the meals came out incorrect. We also weren't provided with napkins, condiments, or silverware and had to request those. I went to this establishment a few days ago. It was my first time going there with a friend. It had a nice vibe. We ordered our food. We were going to share from both plates. The waitress (Christine) brought my pasta out first. I asked about the other plate (wings and fries). That plate was brought out 10 minutes later. By this time, the pasta was cold. Our first round of drinks were good. The second round, we asked for a replacement drink because the "old fashioned" wasn't to my friend's liking. Long story short, the waitress came out with the bill. She wasn't attentive as we asked other waitresses for napkins and to find her. We questioned the bill. She asked if we wanted to leave a tip. My friend asked was the tip included and she said yes. So $16 went to her for not really doing much. The next day I called for management. No answer at all. I received a text from the establishment. A text? I requested call. The manager said she would speak to her and credit the drink that was sent back. Two days later, still no credit. This place has a nice vibe and pretty good food but I won't be returning due to this horrible customer service experience. Why have a business phone if you refuse to answer it. read more

Be prepared for a $75 hold to be placed on your card regardless of what you order. I've never come across this anywhere else... ever. I'm sure they have their reasons but that's a hassle I don't want to deal with following up on again so it just wasn't the place for me. The staff was nice but could stand to be more attentive. Sat right at the bar and had to flag the bartender down more than once to order more drinks bc they were busy socializing amongst themselves, not even with other customers. The menu is also extremely pricey both food and drinks. The inside was clean and neatly remodeled but now only have a few pool tables and a ping pong table for games. Atmosphere, service and drinks are great. But I'm reducing stars to call attention to the way they do the bill. We had a party of 4 and they added a 20% gratuity. Then when you split the check they ask for additional tip option of 3% 5% and 7% but if you make a selection of those options the % is based on the entire tables bill. For example. I ordered 2 drinks for $16 each and selected 7% additional tip (because I was unaware of the already added tip) and the 7% was on the entire tab. So my final charge was $50.04. Which an $18 tip on my tab, which is not 7%. Anyway...just think patrons should be aware and honestly think the business could do better. It's in a shopping center that's not all the way to the 'once one business leaves, it's only a matter of a year before there's only one small place open and nobody knows how or why' but it looks to be a year away. Maybe it used to be a nightclub, maybe it used to be a gentleman's club that's somehow trying to go the other direction but it is not somewhere you bring someone that you don't want to spend an hour asking each other how you wound up there. read more

The waitress walked us over to two different tables then said wait here. After 10 minutes of waiting we walked back to the main entrance to check in again because she didn't come back. Waited at the main entrance for another 15 minutes then someone seated us. I wanted a hookah I was given a menu to order the hookah online after 30 minutes of waiting for the hookah the order was cancelled and refunded. I ordered a drink and food waited 2 hours still no drink. Questioned the waitress about my drink and she said the bar was backed up. But came back out 5 minutes later with the drink. Over three hours later still waiting for food. She just came to the table and told me they are sold out of what I ordered, but my friends food was still coming. No my friends food was overlooked on the ticket so they didn't make it. Luckily we're here to watch the fight otherwise I would've been walked out. I hate terrible service. We ordered food and the waitress never brought our change back, we had to ask for it which was strange bc our food and drink was $83 bucks and we gave $100 and they charge gratuity upfront. A couple of us ordered wings and then when the food came it was just sat on the table and not announced what flavor of the wings were leading to getting orders wrong. We also order fried chicken sliders and we received grilled and when told it was wrong the waitress just looked at us and did not offer to fix it or apologize and we just kept it bc we had already waited almost an hour or maybe longer for the food.
