Vegan Biscuits
Mary M.

I ordered the vegan biscuits and they were delicious. They are scratch made vegan biscuits topped with vegan country gravy, two vegan sausage patties, roasted tomatoes and collard greens. Served with perfectly cooked potatoes. If the offering is still on the menu when I go back, I will order again!

Breakfast Burrito in a Bowl

I love the feel of a neighborhood breakfast shop and this restaurant has that vibe. It is only open for breakfast and lunch. We visited on a Wednesday morning and there was plenty of seating. We reviewed the large wall-length menu board and then placed our orders at the register. The attendant was very friendly and was able to suggest a deconstructed breakfast burrito in a bowl. That was the perfect option. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, our meals were delivered to our tables in a very reasonable amount of time, and the food was well prepared and tasty. I will certainly come back and try new options, as my first meal made me want to try more.

Guiness corned beef and hash

The French Press is a very popular breakfast/brunch spot. I think the line almost reached the door when I arrived. You are not able to reserve/save a table when you arrive, you can only get a table once you've ordered your food and paid. There are paper menus located at the register, but the whole side wall is an enormous menu, so hopefully, you don't get overwhelmed by the amount of people and menu size. I am a sucker for corned beef hash and will always give it a try when a restaurant states their version is home-made. The French Press' version definitely tasted like it was stewed in Guinness and was very good. The cons is that I should have ordered my eggs soft or a bit runny to provide the corned beef with some moisture because the meat was dry; the other downside was that although I was offered toast and chose an English muffin, I was only given half of the muffin. Is it standard to just get one side and not both? Anyhow, minor gaffes aside, the food here is good. The restaurant is very lively and every table was occupied. It can get very loud here, so if you want something more intimate, the French Press is not for you during peak dining times.

Black bean and spring mix salad. Yum!
Bev C.

The bean and spring mix salad was so good! A generous layer of greens with feta black beans, a tasty dressing provided all I needed for a healthy lunch. I liked the unhealthy portion also in the form of a large slice of raspberry cake. Everything that is gluten free was labelled as such. A very nice touch when you can't eat gluten. This will be my go to place in Denver. Why go anywhere else?

Me and my boyfriend stopped in while we were visiting Denver for a quick breakfast. There are plenty of options for everyone looking for breakfast type food. It's in a very convenient spot with street parking. The service was simply amazing. They were quick and the food was delicious and the entire restaurant inside and out is very cute. will definitely be putting it on my revisit list when I'm back in Denver.

Vegan Biscuits

Great coffee and breakfast joint with quick turnaround times and friendly service. I thought I'd be disappointed with only one vegan item on the menu but it was good enough I'd order it every visit. The biscuits and gravy come with home fries, sautéed tomatoes and house vegan sausage patties. The biscuits are soft and the gravy is rich and peppery. I ordered a drip coffee on the side and it was a delicious medium dark roast, and the large is like a pint glass. This is a great option for vegans eating with carnivores.

A few tables outside on a quiet street

Cool and relaxed spot for breakfast and lunch. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The vibe is contemporary industrial with exposed bricks, tones of honey and soft bluish gray. Parking is on the street but not a problem, plenty of spots available in the area. There are also a few tables outside and when we visited there was basically no traffic so it was quite pleasant. My built your own omelette was yummy with plenty of added artichoke. The side of bacon, thick and caramelized with maple syrup totally addictive! The cappuccino was also good. We'll definitely go back and try to remember to pay cash since they charge 2% if you use a credit card.

This is a go to place for me! The food never disappoints and it's always quick and delicious

I came to The French Press for a quick brunch. Upon entering, there was no wait or line for the front counter despite the restaurant being quite occupied. Additionally, after placing my order, my food came out within a very reasonable amount of time. As for the food, it was typical diner style food. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was outstanding either. Additionally, like diner style food, the food was pretty greasy. This disappointed me a bit, as I wasn't expecting to eat diner food.

This is an adorable breakfast spot in Denver! There's actually plenty of parking on the street since it's in a neighborhood, which is a nice change from a lot of other places in the city. The menu is written on a huge whiteboard, which makes it a little hard to see everything (if you have trouble seeing from a far like me). Then you place your order at the counter and they serve you your order! I got the veggie Benedict and it was outstanding. Lots of fresh veggies including arugula, avocado, asparagus, and tomato on a soft English muffin. Not too much hollandaise, so if you're crazy about it feel free to request more. It also doesn't come with a side, but it was pretty filling. Overall a great experience and delicious, fresh food.

Pancakes, eggs, bacon and butter

The coffee was just on point! The pancakes tasted like heaven, I would give them a 8 out of 10 and the bacon was so well done omg!! And the eggs just the way I like them.

Great, consistent food. Fast and friendly service. Perfect for breakfast and lunch and great coffee, too - tons of syrup/flavor options.

Did someone say ceremonial Matcha? Hell to the yea!…read more I had bookmarked this place for our stay in Denver on our trek from California. We always like to scope out the best coffee spots ahead of time. Little Owl did not disappoint! First, it's always difficult to find ceremonial grade Matcha wherever you go. Most of the time it's Matcha mixed with a bunch of other stuff and at best it's culinary grade. The Matcha here was vibrant in color, smooth and slightly nutty. I elected to sweeten it with simple syrup and had it Americano. My husband opted for a vanilla latte with oat milk and while we've stopped at several places so far, this is the best latte we've had on our roadtrip. They make all of their syrups in house and the coffee was smooth and not bitter. The cafe is small and quaint. It does open up into a larger building with additional seating. Customer service was on point, and we even joked about the different types of Matcha and how some places use a ton of fillers and sugar.

I tried the Vanilla Latte which was nicely sweetened, creamy, and soothing. The espresso was pulled well and gave me the caffeine kick I needed to start my day. They have some bar seating here but the cafe also extends into the lobby where you can sit and have a slow morning if you choose. Good try!

This most recent visit, my pastor brought our men's trip through here to gather before the new guys started their time here in Colorado. This place was busy! I got a hot coffee and a burrito. Unfortunately, the sandwich was sold out around mid-morning. I'm not sure where they get the burritos, they come pre-packaged and get pressed till hot and crispy. Once my food was up, we all gathered upstairs in an outdoor patio area. The narrow staircase leads you to two small, cozy areas to enjoy your food and beverage. Since we were a bigger group, we took our place outside. The burrito was excellent. Soft eggs, potatoes and cheese. It was filling and hit the spot. The ube latte was perfectly sweet with a strong ube flavor. The crème brûlée cruffin had a top that was so crispy from the toasted sugar that I couldn't cut into it, and the bottom was just stuffed full of cream. It was super messy to eat and impossible to share- next time I am getting my own. We also had the pandan coconut cupcake, which was good but not as exciting as the cruffin. The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin.
