I thought it would just be a few rhum tastings and that's it, but it turned into a full experience: a history lesson, cooking and food tasting demonstration, and even a chance to participate in the rhum bottling process. Christina, our "rhumologist," kicked things off with tastings of the signature rhums, followed by a cooking demonstration featuring chicken cooked with tropical rhum, plus samples of rhum cake and gelato. We wrapped up with tastings of the specialty rhums. My favorite was the jalapeño lime rhum--so good that my husband and I ended up buying a bottle. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours and flew by.
