    My delicious snack.

Here this morning waiting for my wife, and writing this update. I usually order the lemon tart which is heavenly. Today I ordered the apple crumb pie served literally on a silver platter (see picture), and a decaf iced latte. I absolutely am loving both. The background music is soothing and leans towards smooth jazz and easy listening. I hope the owner sees this review, but if they would mix in some nice french music to heighten the cultural vibe, I would rate this cafe 5 stars. If you are craving sweets, this is the place to go.

I had stopped here on Mother's Day to pick up some pastries. I was surprised to see a long line out the door. The ambiance of the venue was nice and the service was okay. I ordered the strawberry tart, lemon tart and pistachio Mille fille. I really appreciated the packaging and the takeout bag, which made it seem very high end. The pastries were all pretty good and were HUGE. The tarts are very similar and the pistachio Mille fille has a subtle taste. It was reasonably priced. My only complaint is the checkout process. It was slightly disorganized but I think it was mostly due to the amount of customers they had that day.

Pistachio mi feuille. I already started eating it before I took the pic. Oops!

Stopped in for dessert with my daughter. I got the Pistachio mi feuille and my daughter got the Raspberry mi feuille. I have to say. Mine was better haha, but both were delicious. The layers were flaky. The cream, exceptional. Such a wonderful Pistachio flavor. Sweet enough to curb any sweet tooth. Service was easy. We ordered at the pastry display and they brought our desserts to the counter where we also ordered a Lavender lemonade. It was so good. Starbucks Lavender has nothing on theirs. The ambiance was nice. Some camped on their laptops. Others running in for a quick bite. Beautiful dining area. Very comfortable, as well. The booth couches are a nice touch. We will most definitely be back!

This should be a 4.4. Cute Bistro where you can grab delicious Baguettes with Country Style Ham, and Swiss, along with a plethora of Heavenly pastries. The Turkey Swiss Croissant is a savory bite of flaky deliciousness. Some of our favorite sweeter bites include the Raspberry Creme Brulee Cheesecake. It's rich, not too dense, with a delectable Crumble-style crust. Also, the Fruit Tart, which is an extremely light whipped custard. It's so light, it almost feels solely like fresh whipped cream versus a custard. It's topped with plump Strawberries, Blackberries and Blueberries. Their coffee's decent too, along with various milks, except Coconut, which they should get. We normally get their Caramel Macchiato, which is very smooth. Overall, it's one of our favorite quick bite spots and never disappoints!

The French Workshop proudly showcases signature pastries, cakes, croissants, and sandwiches. I came back to The French Workshop to purchase some breakfast items. I ordered an almond croissant ($4.50), Nutella croissant ($4.25), and matcha white chocolate bombolini ($5.50). The croissants were flaky and buttery. The matcha white chocolate bombolini was super soft and light. The middle had a matcha white chocolate filling, but wasn't much. I wish it had more of the smooth pastry cream. The French Workshop does have high quality pastries, but I prefer their desserts.

Okay so I want to say I love this place but I feel like I can't say it with the desserts that I tried the other day. Unfortunately I don't remember the names well but the first one was a peanut butter croissant and the second was a cold brew doughnut type of dessert. The peanut butter one didn't have peanut butter anywhere expect for the dollop that fell to the side. It itself was just a croissant with dark chocolate up top which was a little boring for me and the cold brew doughnut not only didn't taste like coffee at all but had barely any filling. That being said, I did give them 4 starts because I know they have a lot of great desserts. I would recommend getting the Tiramisu or the Crème brûlée if you are ever here. The coffee is always super consistent and great as well and service is great too! They always try to help those on line as soon as possible and make your drinks in a timely manner! This cute little dessert and coffee shop is definitely a great place to try different desserts and chat with some friends!

Claudine and I stopped by The French Workshop in Bayside for a coffee and sweet treat fix - and boy, did we get it! Despite the crowd, our barista crafted perfect mocha latte and cappuccino with impeccable foam and flavor. But the real showstoppers were the pastries we took home for ladies' game night: crème brûlée, apple crumble, lemon tart, and tiramisu. We paused our Five Crowns game to devour these stunners - they were GONE in minutes! The holiday decor and those adorable nutcrackers added such a special touch - it truly felt like a winter wonderland in there. If you're looking for a host gift or just want to treat yourself, these four pastries are must-haves. Highly recommend!

It's definitely been a while since I last came to French Workshop, but as always I really like their selection. I had their crunchy, absolute vanilla, and profiterole. Crunchy is my favorite here, to me, it tastes like a giant Ferraro rocher! As a vanilla lover, the absolute vanilla was something I really liked. Profiterole was interesting to me, it's like a chocolatey cream puff dessert dish.

9/21/25 - Happy Birthday Baby! (The Crunchy Cake)
    Brie F.

The French Workshop has become our go-to bakery for celebrating birthdays at work and it never disappoints. We've ordered several cakes over the years for coworkers' birthdays, and each one has been beautifully made as well as absolutely delicious. One cake that truly stands out is The Crunchy. It's a perfect balance of flavors and textures, made with layers of vanilla sponge cake, rich chocolate mousse, dark chocolate, and caramelized hazelnuts. The fact that it's available in both individual and family sizes makes it even better for any occasion. I loved it so much that I personally ordered the Crunchy cake for my husband's birthday, and it was a huge hit. Beyond cakes, I've also ordered macarons, cupcakes, Oreo pops, cookies and pastries, and a variety of other desserts on different occasions. Everything has been consistently fresh, mouth watering delicious, and beautifully presented. The French Workshop never fails to impress, whether it's for a small personal celebration or a larger group. It's a bakery I confidently recommend for anyone looking for high-quality desserts with amazing taste.

My favorite bakery in bayside hands down. They're desserts are perfect for bringing to loved ones, they'll always impress! And the coffee is always delicious.

Some of the best coffee I've ever had! I'm not into fancy coffee orders so I can't help with that. Their regular coffee however was simply outstanding. The small is indeed quite small, so order accordingly. They have a wide selection of pastries which looked delicious! Service was fast, friendly & accurate.

I already wrote a review for The French Workshop but they're just so great that I decided to write a second review haha. I got the spinach puff pastry & passionfruit macaron. Both were great. The staff was also great & very patient as well. I wish I had a French Workshop location closer to me but Bayside is not too far from me :).

How long does cake last in the fridge?

    No more than 4-5 days

    Do you have oat milk?

    Yes

Hi, does this restaurant have a rectangular cake? Thanks!

Do you mean like a Costco sheet cake to serve a crowd? I believe you can get a large or a custom cake if you order it in advance, this isn't what they make on a daily basis.

Does anyone know why the French Workshop doesn't take pre-order for cakes? They used to a few years ago but they don't now.

Sorry, Kien. I don't know why but if you put your question in the yelp review. I'm sure the company will respond. I would hope they would.

I'm looking for Mocha Religieuse. It's like a double decker mocha cream puff. Do they have it? Thank you.

I've never noticed them offering that

How much are their French baguettes?

    2.50

Did they get rid of the princess?

I believe they have a few options

    Any Vegan Options?

A couple, near the front of the shop

Are the macaroons made fresh daily?

No. They are kept frozen until ready to serve, as are most products from TFW. They are made outside, frozen, delivered and finished at TFW. There are a few items that are actually made there fresh.

Tastiest dessert here to feed a group of people that's a crowd pleaser?

Yes this bakery has a large selections of desserts, pastries for breakfast that should cover those looking for savory rather than sweets.

How much is one box of macaroons? And how many in a box?

Sorry I don't know. But just call them they will tell you.

Do they make the cake named Edelweiss with mocha &hazelnuts?

I am not sure but lots of pastries with hazelnuts and many types of chocolate. Call them before going if looking for that specific cake? It is a great place to try other than that specific cake! Enjoy!

    Is there wifi?

    Yes. And it's free.

Walking in, you see green, lots of it in the form of lush plants and flowers everywhere. There is no over powering scents and the high ceilings do make the space feel open and calm. The counter to order is closer to the rear of the store and there's plenty of cafe style seating and communal seating all around. In warmer months, they put small tables and chairs outside on the sidewalk. The artisanal coffee here is what sets them apart. Bold flavor choices, robust and velvety varieties. Many options to choose from, check out the menu pics. I had the Americano and loved it. We also ordered hot food while hanging out. As they are popular for brunch, Jo and I shared the lemon curd blueberry pancakes as well as the savory salmon lox pancake. We likely over ordered but didn't mind, as we're always open to trying more dishes. The lemon curd blueberry was our favorite. I liked that there was extra lemon curd on the side and the blueberries were fresh. They were lightly dusted with powered sugar and thankfully not bathed in syrup. It was a light and satisfying dish even though it was pancakes. Didn't feel heavy at all. The ice cream was a nice touch so you could consider this as a dessert. The lox and eggs were really good as well. Those pancakes were topped with tomato, greens and avocado. Like a full meal on a plate. So glad we shared everything. I'd totally recommend a dine in experience so you can try the food once it's prepared. We both bought sandwiches to go for our family and those held up well considering it needed to be transported home. I recommend the ham and cheese croissant sandwich.

The tables are close enough and small enough to hear what your neighbors are saying to each other, imagine what they think of you? LOL I noticed speaker music was playing a bit louder then the last time I was there. The fact that patrons have to shout over each other while sharing speaker music doesn't help with the ambience of enjoying a delicious cake over an interesting conversation. I ordered something new this time, a delicious lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Why didn't I see that description on my check? Strange. I also visited their website online, and noticed a lot of Stock Ai made photos and videos. I even found the website hard to navigate as well because it wasn't loaded with actual cakes and up to date pricing. So quite honestly the online website wasn't helpful with what they had in the shop. * Perhaps a future improvement between tables might be an above head moveable divider which actually could provide some privacy. They are open before the crack of dawn at 6am until 1am on Friday & Saturday nights. I imagine that the ovens never cool off and the bakers are there on the overnight shift to bake plenty of cakes ready for the next day. Very small inside, they have a kiosk to order from or you can order at the register and has two seats to sit right next to the door. Walked in and said hello, but did not receive acknowledgement from the staff. There were several working and it appeared they were busy with online orders (we were the only people in the store at the time). But definitely could improve when it comes to having customers feel welcome upon entering. Ordered off the kiosk; jasmine milk iced matcha and a mango mochi milk tea coming to just over $16 with tax. Got both with 50% sugar (recommended amount for the mango mochi tea). Had music playing while waiting. When the order was ready, one of the staff called the drinks out loud and provided straws to break into the lids with. The jasmine milk tea was refreshing and very floral, not my preferred taste as it was very very floral in flavor. Can definitely taste the matcha though. Mango mochi had chunks of mango in it and good amount of sweetness. I may come back to try their coconut iced matcha, but certainly not running back due to lack of staff attention and okay drinks.

We had their Earl Grey and Pistachio panna cotta. We also had their matcha with drinkable mochi. The panna cotta had good flavor but the texture is not as creamy or smooth as the best panna cotta. The matcha mochi also had good flavor but the matcha was watery and there were bits of rice in the drink that my daughter disliked. The mochi itself wasn't too bad. Definitely more interesting in concept than execution.

It has a clean atmosphere, quick service, and refreshing menu. The coconut mango sago with pomelo and ice cream is creamy, rich, and refreshing, combining fresh mango chunks with sago and pomelo. Their mango passion fruit mousse cake is a viral treat modeled to look hyper-realistic, featuring a crunchy exterior and smooth, tangy interior. The mango pancakes and crepe cakes are soft, fluffy pancakes filled with fresh cream and chunks, alongside delicate multi-layered mille crepe cakes. Heavy-hitting coconut mango smoothies and classic brown sugar boba options. What we tried on our recent visits are coconut juice with red beans, lychee jelly and green tea ice cream, the mango sundae, the green tea Mille crepe cake and their Thai bubble milk tea, all tasted delicious and are not too sweet. The place is bright, has a spacious interior and is ideal for group hangouts after dinner. They have fast and friendly service with minimal wait times. Noticeable high-quality fresh fruit and stable delivery options that hold their chill. Some specialty drinks can lean overly sweet unless you request less sugar. Can get crowded during peak post-dinner weekend hours.
