Delicious! Great place to go for desserts, pastries and drinks on Bell Blvd. I would highly recommend the Creme Brûlée which was a decently sized portion, and had great taste and texture. I also liked the Raisin Cream Croissant, which had a tasty filling. I think the Creme Brûlée Cheese Cake was way too sweet with the raspberry topping. I could only take one bite and had to save the rest for later. The parking is limited to street parking and it can get pretty tough to find parking near this area on Bell. The service is good but the price is a bit high compared to other pastry shops in the area. Nevertheless, they have great decor and seating spaces including tables that can be rearranged for groups. Fancy schmancy, and I love it. The selection was really mind blowing, and the prettiness of even a cookie was notable. My day started off with a delectable bacon tart with an egg on top. All the breakfast items looked enticing, but I'm convinced I chose the best one! Hey, and there was green on it, so it must be healthy! And then for dinner dessert, the selection was also mind boggling. We went with the decadent chocolate Melody and the fluffy pistachio gateaux. They were very pretty but most importantly tasty. My go to place when getting a cake for other people. I usually get the crunchy that looks like a Ferrero Rocher. I was a little disappointed that my cake was messed up on the top because i bought two cakes that day and the guy stacked it on top of each other, but it's fine it still turned out good. Whenever I'm back home visiting family, my sister and I make it a thing to go to The French Workshop because we love their pistachio muffins but to my disappointment the quality of their items have sunk over time. When we saw these muffins, my sister's first reaction was "Why do they think this is acceptable to sell?" I'm not sure what's going on here, but these muffins are not aesthetically pleasing. They also tasted really dry on the inside and tasted stale. I wished that this experience was an outlier, but this has happened every time that we've been there recently. As a longtime fan of cooking & baking shows, I love that there's a view of the pastry chefs preparing the details that go into the little beauties. My favorite visual is when they caramelize crème brûlée. My review on their edible goodies is solely for their vegan selection (which I would love if they expanded it). Their vegan blueberry croissant is scrumptious!! It's exactly the way I like my French fries and cookies, soft with a bit of crunch. It is pretty flaky and the blueberry filling is generous, so I'd recommend not wearing white while eating it. Their seasonal vegan pumpkin bread is a little slice of heaven. It's soft, sweet and decadent - like my soul. I haven't been adventurous when it comes to their beverage selection but I can commend that their iced lattes and chai are delicious! I would have given this shop a 4-5 stars for its goodies which are really tasty treats that customers w/ a sweet tooth will appreciate and even swoon over. They do make quite appealing desserts both visually and taste-wise. This is shown on quite a number of good reviews they received in general for their other branches and so I wouldn't want to take that away from the store. However I have to say it is their service that I have a problem with as I excitedly bought my very first sweet treats from them. The staff who attended to me was somebody who should not be in the front position serving customers. When I asked her which of the two chocolate cakes she thinks is better and which I unwittingly ended up choosing the other one that's not her choice, such obvious displeasure showed on her face that I almost decided to go back with her choice. But then I thought, granted... I did ask her opinion and then didn't go with her pick. But do I deserve her ire just because of this? Afterall the customer has the final say and I was good-natured about the fact that I went with the mousse type than the one with a hint of caramel. So this whole exchange left a sour note and took away the whole experience for me which should have been pleasurable. It's a good thing the cashier and the preparer of my drinks were smiley and pleasant enough. It's just so unfortunate for me as I now felt truly bad asking her in the first place. She scoffed with a demeaning attitude like "you only going to order 1 ounce?" and rolled her eyes at us. We ordered 2 cookies of each flavor, a Tiramisu, and passionfruit tart. Was it too much to ask how many cookies because we don't to buy a ton of cookies we possibly could not like.? She definitely didn't want to be there with her attitude. My absolute favorite dessert spot in Queens! Fortunate enough to live within a 10 min drive so I can indulge more often than my waist appreciates. I can never just have one dessert; they have so many options that anyone can everyone can find at least a couple items they want to try and of course enjoy. DELISH!! Came out here to grab a quick dessert after dinner and introduced my brother to this fabulous establishment. I love their red velvet cake slices ... I had to buy 2, one for now and the other one for a couple of hours from now. The tiramisu came in it's very own bowl which was a nice touch and that too ... delish. The little wafers on top ... yum. Not as good as the red velvet cake but nothing I'll ever eat in there will be better than their red velvet cake!! The cheese puff, according to my husband, was 'just ok'. I don't like cheese puffs and he does so for him to say that is wasn't anything special, I'll believe him. The place was very clean and still no indoor dining so there weren't any chairs or tables to sit at. This visit was highly inspired by my fellow yelper friend Julio R. I have never been here before first time and they surely didn't disappoint me!! Only thing I regret is coming late at night pretty much when they were about to close therefore the selection of goods was very limited. Parking is a little tricky in this area during rush hours. Clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated shop. They are so fancy with their shopping bags but they are so cute I love the elegant design. Prices are bit higher than other places but it's totally worth it. I got their creme burlee cheesecake, Oreo, raspberry, and regular mini croissants. The creme burlee was so good every bite was like making me crave for more but sadly the portion was small. The mini croissants are very good and totally prefer them with tea or coffee. Absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I specifically come here every time for their delicious selection of macarons. I've been here a total of three times now and almost all of the pastries I've tried have been on point. Chocolate Tart: Absolutely heavenly and filled with delicious, decadent chocolate ganache. It's rich, but not overwhelmingly sweet, which I love. It's also quite aesthetic, with the smooth chocolate glaze speckled with gold flakes. Chocolate Croissant: The croissant layers were extremely flaky and buttery, excellent paired with a good cup of coffee. Crunchy: Tastes and looks like a giant Ferrero Rocher, a little sweet for my tastes, so I would recommend for it to be shared amongst a couple of people for the best experience. Mousse au Chocolate: This is really quite similar to the chocolate tart, but instead of being fully dark chocolate, it's made with a mix of white and dark chocolate, the white chocolate was creamy and indulgent while the dark chocolate at the center of the tart provided a slight more bitter profile that perfectly balanced out the sweetness of the white chocolate. Macarons: These are my absolute favorite items to get at The French Workshop. Unlike the macarons I've had at some other places, most of these flavors aren't too sweet, the ratio of cookie to filling was perfect and there is a wide selection of flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is the vanilla, but the coffee flavor is delicious as well. The only one I would stay away from would be the salted caramel macaron, which was really sweet. Why I deducted a star: The last time I went to this bakery, I purchased 18 macarons, 6 of them were separately packed to gift to a friend. After we reached our destination (which was less than 10 minutes drive from the bakery), we opened the pack of 6 before gifting it to our friend because we decided that we wanted to give them a couple more. To our dismay, we found the cookies to be in a disasterous state. A couple of the cookies had completely lost their shell and only their fillings remained, while their shells broke into pieces inside the box, so we quickly swapped them out for nicer looking ones. So while the pastries are delicious, I would definitely say that if you plan to gift them to someone, to check the condition of the pastries first before gifting it. read more

Recently was in the area again, and picked up a lemon meringue tart and a profiterole tart for $6-7 a piece. These pastries were less French-sized and more American sized, fit for sharing between 2 people. The profiterole was a giant concoction with 3 cream puffs on a vanilla cream base. The cream puffs were okay, but all the cream in the dessert was overwhelming to me. The lemon tart was something I would definitely get again. Even though we ate it a few days after, the combo of the tart sweetness of the lemon curd w/ the smoked meringue and vanilla shell was exquisite. I found myself eagerly digging into the tart, ultimately consuming most of it on my own while my boyfriend watched astonished. I keep finding myself return to the French workshop for their desserts! I've been coming here since pre-covid and their quality has remained consistently good. I usually get things packaged to go - their boxes and bags are just as pretty as their desserts. Most of their desserts I recommend sharing because they tend to be on the richer side, including the crunchy, duke, and tiramisu. Things my family and I regularly pick up here are the fruit tarts, mille feuille, and the creme brulee cheesecake. I've also tried their macarons and cookies, which are perfect for if you are looking to bring a few treats to a party. I also enjoy dining in whenever there are seats available. Parking can be a hit or miss depending on day and time you go, but definitely a place worth stopping by to satisfy your sweet tooth. The French Workshop has been on my bucket list for months and finally we were around the neighborhood to try their famous French dessert. The staff was friendly and attentive, we were served properly and quickly even it was crowded all the time. There was a great variety of pastries and desserts so we had a difficult time making our decision. We tried their Mille-feuille and Lava cake which were two of their best sellers. The Mille-feuille cake was amazingly great and addictive, the cream was dense but light and perfectly matched with crispy crepe layers. The Lava cake was the best and sinful, the chocolate filling floured out after toasted and the sponge cake was super soft and well flavored. The must eat list of the French workshop is long and we would like to visit more often to try other options. read more

While I am amazed with the variety of cookies and pastries available, I cannot understand how a place like this can produce an undrinkable latte. Latte by definition is creamy. This is accomplished by frothing the milk until it is creamy and frothy, and it is then folded into the waiting espresso. The baristas here have apparently not been taught this. On top of this, the sesame tahini cookie I was sold was burnt.
