My husband and I came here for brunch during our vacation in Portsmouth, and we loved it there! It's a very popular restaurant so there was a waitlist. The staff was very nice and professional and they texted us one the table was ready. We loved the vibrant vibes in the restaurant! We ordered breakfast burrito, breakfast plate and cold brew coffee, and everything was so delicious. The staff were so welcoming. We had a great time here!

I love eating at places like this when I'm traveling. The vibe was so cool, and the food was spot on. And, I liked the menu choices/options as well, that was really nice. Our server was very attentive, and overall a great spot!

This was my first visit to The Friendly Toast and it was great! We arrived and were seated in the bustling dining room. Fortunately, we were early enough to be seated right away, but shortly afterwards there were many people waiting outside. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and even went out of his was wo make a decaf iced coffee for me. We ordered two items off of the special Noah Kahan menu, which supports The Busyhead Project (Noah's charity that focuses on mental health). My choice was "Waffle Be Here Forever" which was an apple Belgian waffle, topped with fried apples, blueberry granola, whipped cream, and caramel. it was soooooo good and I'd definitely order it again. Also from the Noah Kahan menu, we ordered pumpkin pancakes, which were so fluffy and flavorful. Another win on the menu! Decor in the Friendly Toast is really fun with the walls collaged with nostalgic art. I also liked the Busyhead Project Community wall towards the back of the restaurant which featured written reflections on mental health prompts that were then posted on the wall.

Food is amazing! Kids friendly environment, service was rather quick and attentive! Definitely recommend this place to any tourist and locals! We ordered chicken sandwich and burger for us, churros for kids, everything comes out fast and tastes so good! Definitely recommend this place!

Very unique interior! The food was good for a quick breakfast the pancake monster was absolutely delicious! My friend got a BBQ chicken burger however she did not enjoy the flavor of the burger whatsoever and found it very difficult to finish off. She tried putting ketchup as well as one of their hot sauces but couldn't figure out how to make it taste better. The service was great, super quick and very helpful with questions about the menu.

We came here around 8am to beat the morning rush and not have to wait for a table. It was the perfect time to eat here as it was busy but not busy enough you had to wait. The staff was very friendly and the decor inside is very visually entertaining. I tried the protein bowl and an espresso martini. Both were delicious! I especially appreciated their unique hot sauce. I do recommend for brunch!

Overall: quirky atmosphere, yummy food, kind service, inclusive single-stall restrooms We stopped in on a Friday morning and were able to get seated right away for 2 people. The menu has tons of fun things on it like all sorts of flights- like summer drinks and boozy coffees. They label things that are vegan and gluten free and there were plenty of things that I would have been interested in eating. It took a while for our food to come out, but everything was great. I loved the protein bowl and my chocolate chip pancake. The prices for the food were reasonable, but I felt like $4.50 for a cup of coffee was a little steep. The maple turmeric hot sauce on the table was really good!

This is definitely a touristy kitschy kind of place and I loved it. Decorated with a variety of retro themed items (such as old diner tables and tin ads), this place is definitely a favorite. The seating is a bit tight (and the design of our table made it a little awkward to sit at, but we made it work. I had the chicken cordon bleu Benedict and it was SO good. We had all originally planned to enjoy one of their signature mimosa flights, but when I saw the selection of Bloody Marys and didn't see a flight option, I lamented our loud and my server, said, "I can make that happen for you." And he did not disappoint. They do not take reservations so be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially on weekends.

Awesome food -awesome service and awesome atmosphere. Eclectic vibe and great music. We waited quite awhile but it's worth it. We ordered 2 of the 2 egg breakfasts and 1 pancake. Hubby LOVED the pancake and maple syrup from Vermont. The breakfast was great and the bacon was so delicious.

Every time I come here it's amazing! Each waiter/waitress I've had has been great and given really good recommendations. They have a rotating menu and new flights to try. Each dish is unique and delicious! You have the ability to be added to the waitlist ahead of time and track your place in line which is so helpful. Even down to the design/ decor it is so fun and eclectic. Couldn't recommend it more!

Hi. Going for brunch this Saturday. Vegan with a soy allergy, what can I eat?

They definitely have vegan options, but call them as to soy.

Hi. I'm coming up this wknd from CT. Unfortunatly i have a dairy allergy. Do you offer items made with almond milk instead of cow milk? Or will i have enough menu options that don't include butter or milk?

They have vegan butter, almond or soy milk, vegan pancakes, vegan nachos, vegan Mac n cheese. And much more

The delightful scent of coffee was in the air and the staff were absolutely friendly as you approached the counter. Despite a buzz of patrons trickling in and ordering, the coffee was delivered to the table shortly after I sat. The staff obviously had a strong momentum going as I watched other tables being served just as quickly. Before I could even really start sipping on my piping hot Cafe Au Lait, I was served my salad and crepe. It was fun to watch how each person worked their station passionately. The lady preparing the crepes meticulously cleaned her station as she cooked. The staff on coffee were brewing away and sending cups out to diners. Other items were coming out from the back kitchen. They worked in unison like a well oiled machine. I definitely enjoyed my coffee. My salad was generous and hit the spot. The crepe was acceptable. Would I come back? Yeah, definitely my type of breakfast spot when visiting Portsmouth again. I definitely will try their croissants next time as well as check out their wine bar in the evenings!

I also picked up a sugar cookie for myself that I carried around all day & due to the heat the frosting melted and my cookie got smushed but it was still pretty tasty. It was sweet but not too sweet. I'd love to go back for another one & eat it before I ruin it! LOL I also got a funfeti cupcake & found it to be very small & kinda dry. The frosting wasn't very sweet. I wouldn't get another cupcake as it's not worth the price ($3.46) or the taste. I used one of the unisex bathroom's while I was here which wasn't too bad for a busy MSD, but they had signs on the door that "bathrooms are for customers only" but I doubt they had any way to control the bathroom traffic. And are we glad we did. Although a change in ownership over the years was a surprise, the new owners kept up the charm and elegance I would expect from a resort-style establishment. From my first phone call, to the bellhop, to the front desk, to the absolutely fantastic dinner(s) and breakfast, the entire team was there for us to ensure our needs were met at every step. The Wentworth met our every expectation. A special shout out to our dinner wait-staff (Skye). Skye took the time to explain the menu and to offer other options for the ever chasing "Best Lobster Roll" in New England. Naturally, Skye recommended the Wentworths own in house Restaurant (The Salt K&B) so we went for it the next evening and Skye was absolutely spot on. Their Lobster Roll was spectacular.
