Decent place to eat. Stopped in and got lunch. They didn't have gluten free bread for a sandwich but they offered to make it on their GF English muffin. However, they don't appear to recognize food sensitivies as they brought out clam chowder without discussing whether it had gluten. I thought the chowder was pretty good, thick and lots of clams. The sandwich was decent but rather and average sandwich like I could make at home. The fries were also average, a little heavy. I came here two days in a row for breakfast on the weekend. I went early on Saturday and it was pretty open seating. On Sunday, I went late (10am) and it was really busy and had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Both times the food has been good and service is really good. Waitress are very busy but are constantly moving to take orders, fill coffee, bring out orders, chat with customers, and cash out customers. Even when they were really busy they all still provided excellent service. The food is mostly simple well cooked breakfast dishes and I didn't really see anything fancy or outrageously unique. The only complaint I have was the serving of bacon. They only give three strips in an order. So both times I had to order a side order of crispy bacon. The coffee service is excellent and they are always checking to make sure your coffee never gets low and each time they have given me a coffee for the road while paying the bill. There coffee is also very good too. Overall, it is a great place for breakfast and very good place if you love coffee like me. read more

I didn't realize the omelette didn't come with potatoes, so next time I'll remember to order them separate. We also got the peach and pecan pancake. Located at the Kittery Traffic circle, the Sunrise Grill really packs them in! We snagged the last booth on a Saturday morning and there was a line when we left. My ham, broccoli and cheese omelet was the thin type of omelet with all of the filling inside with a thin layer of egg wrapped around. It was tasty for sure with no complaints from me. My husband enjoyed the special omelet of the day, the Mediterranean, with spinach, feta and olives. Coffee was OK, not the best I've had. While they seem to cater more to locals, we were certainly welcomed and didn't feel out of place. I'd return if I were in the area. read more

The friendly waitress promptly arrived with breakfast and lunch menus, as it took me a few moments to decide what I wanted to order. I glanced up at the Specials board and decided on the Grilled Chicken Focaccini ($7.99) served with fries & dill pickle spear. The food was served to me in about 15 minutes. The square sandwich was big which had a chargrilled chicken breast topped with pesto, diced tomatoes, and melted mozzarella cheese over leaf lettuce on a soft thick toasted square focaccia roll, yummy! The standard golden fries were hot and crisp. Overall, lunch was very good and fairly priced. The crowd, at 8:00 on a pre-Memorial Day Sunday morning, seemed to be mostly local. The vibe was wonderful old school diner. The middle aged waitresses were uniformly friendly and pleasant. The food was excellent. We had a couple of Fiesta scrambles and a vegetarian omelette. The service was relaxed, but not negligent. The only thing that had room for improvement was the coffee, which was only OK. This place is on the top of my short list for breakfast when I'm in the area. read more

*Backlog* Came here a few weeks back with the Fiancé while enjoying a nice Saturday morning. We came in and an older lady sat us down and.... Well, that was it. No response to my greetings, menus or drink orders taken. She then proceeded to walk outside pickup a watering can and water the plants outside for a little over five mintues, walk back in and ignore us. Prices- Again, they are on par with every other diner with affordable breakfast staples and daily specials. Service- It's been lackluster both times I've come, The waitstaff is friendly, but rarely check on the table after they bring the food, I really don't want to have to wait 10 minutes for a water refill or for you to come back when you've brought the check. Atmosphere- It's clean inside, located in the same strip mall as Tasty Thai. It's not enormous inside, the tables are just barely far enough away from each other to avoid being awkward. It's one of those epitome of average places where nothing puts it over the top or sinks it down. The menu isn't very exotic and doesn't break any new ground, and the corned beef hash tastes pre-made, but all of the food was good came out really fast, and the service was friendly and personable. It's the kind of place that's especially easy to deal with when I haven't had any coffee yet, and I'd absolutely be a regular customer if I lived within walking distance.
