I don't expect much from diners, but this place still fell very short. Corn beef hash out of a can? It was truly disgusting. Frozen pre cut potatoes served with no seasoning? Hollandaise out of a bag? Eggs with no seasoning? I mean cmon don't you want to make anything from scratch or teach your cooks to season the food? Really a surprising letdown. If you're looking for breakfast - this is the kind of cute little place you want to run into . It's frog everything themed and quite quaint . But the point is eating some good food . Firstly the coffee service is on point , you will never have to wait for your coffee to be refilled as servers are constantly coming around . And it was some pretty good coffee , they even allowed me to take a to go cup for the road ! We asked for mimosas but they didn't have but we had champagne leftover from our stay in the car and they allowed to bring it in ( winner right there ) . The fruit platter was huge , the portions were big enough so me and my fiancé could share and we eat a lot . The bacon waffle was crispy and savory with a side of butter and syrup . The hangover omelette had drag peppers onions and crispy whole bacon that wasn't greasy or soggy . We opted out of the cheese on it . Had a side of home fries and toast as well . Another great breakfast at the Frog Pond this morning (see attached picture). We are regulars there and we love the food (nothing fancy, but consistently good and generous portions), the service (always friendly and attentive) and the atmosphere (fun decorations and always lively). We recommend this place to all of our out of town guests. YUM! We were able to make reservations when we woke up, and glad we did because the place was hopping! The decor is frogs everywhere, with a few Halloween things for the season, very cute. We shared the meat lovers omelette, the cinnamon roll French toast and a side order of biscuits because they looked so amazing when delivered to a nearby table. Absolutely no complaints. SERVICE from the very beginning was rough. You go in from either the front or back of the restaurant and the staff stares at you. Eventually one walks up asks you how many are in your party then they scramble to seat you in an overcrowded dinning room that isn't full... To top it off we ordered coffee and the server came back 3 times... without coffee. She didn't realize she forgot until about 10-15 minutes later. Needless to say we didn't want coffee any longer. On to the food: we tried the Frog Benedict and the cinnamon roll French toast. The Benedict was subpar, and the Hollandaise sauce tasted soured. Not worth the price. Initially I tried this place because I was excited about the cinnamon roll French toast, but I ended up disappointed. There was a meat taste to the roll, like it was cooked on a griddle right after the meat and wasn't cleaned off beforehand. The bottom half of the roll didn't have any flavor despite adding syrup and whipped cream... the top half had more cinnamon flavor, but was doughy. A gentlemen, who I am assuming is the owner, came by to check on us, but by that time we were ready to go. read more

My wife, sister and I went there for breakfast on Mother's Day. When we arrived, it was crowded, with plenty of people milling about outside. Despite the Holiday crowd, we were seated within 25 minutes, which is impressive. Once inside, the service was excellent and so were the meals we ordered. I highly recommend The Frog Pond. Coffee was here nearly immediately after sitting down, fantastic service by everyone (coffee refills continuously, server was quick, food came quickly, manager who seated us was friendly). Best of all, food was incredible! They have keto friendly options, vegetarian, and blintzes (so yummy!). Highly recommend everything we got - meat lovers omelette, cheesesteak omelette, and fruit blintz. The blintz had banana bread for a side (yum!). It's our new favorite breakfast place. Quality and portions of the food are fantastic. We have visited several times and usually like to go on a Monday or Tuesday morning to take advantage of smaller crowds. Maybe our server was having a bad day? Once having taken the order she never came back. We had even made a few request when she brought our food, extra napkins , hot sauce but she never came back. Both were delicious but man that French toast is out of this world! And, if you are like me and think these things really matter, the bathroom is clean, large and private. Well, keeping the positive thought theme ....food was tasty, I enjoyed the bananas Foster waffle. Have to admit, I brought my own pure maple syrup to be sure not a fan of corn syrup induced syrup. Hubby enjoyed his traditional eggs. The side of fruit served on a small dish which made it difficult to slice that chunk of melon. Positive note, the assortment was appreciated too bad half ended up on the ground when I was cutting it up. Loved my own mini pitcher of ice tea. Best value would be the 5-7 egg omelette! If you are covid adverse and who isn't these days, bring your own wipes as they do not throughly clean the tables or chairs in between diners. With restaurants being closed for almost 2 months, it would have been prime time to spruce things up like power wash the sidewalk where the outside tables are....not! Inside tables not social distance standards either. Location is in the divey run down area of St. Pete and it fits right in... I went here for breakfast and for the French toast. It looked exactly like the picture. I could not finish it all. I think the servers get a bonus for every coffee mug they refill becaise they all walked around with coffee pots and tried refilling faster than I could drink it. So we wanted to find a local spot for breakfast and came across the Frog Pond. The restaurant is frog themed, the chairs have green seats, the menu Carrie's the theme thru too. The MOST IMPRESSIVE part of our visit was the AMAZING service! Michael is absolutely top notch! The food was cooked perfectly too, but even if the food had been mediocre, the service was sooo good we still would have happy with our choice to try here. Came here on New Year's Day and it was packed! We had a 5-10min wait, not bad at all. They were getting people in and out and quickly accommodating guests. We stopped for supper, Saturday, wasn't really that busy. Ordered wings, zucchini fries and split blackened chicken sandwich. Everything came out at same time. This explained the lukewarm wings and fries. The wings visually I didn't want to even try, looked like frozen Tyson buffalo wings, the buffalo sauce was minimal and was baked on not wet with sauce. My wife only ate one. In my opinion buffalo wings have been around for years, don't understand any place struggling to make a basic wing. The zucchini fries were pretty good but barely warm. What was interesting I tried one of the sauces we ordered expecting blue cheese and it tasted like tarter sauce and was yellowish, I told the waiter and he said it was if fact blue cheese and they make their own. I still think it was tarter. The blackened chicken sandwich was not blackened, since we split the sandwich my wife didn't like the sandwich and and tried to eat the chicken plain and discovered it appeared to be seared chicken, there nothing that made it blackened, she couldn't finish it. I didn't finish my half either. I still say wings were Tyson buffalo wings. We were very disappointed. read more

On a Saturday morning they were packed and we hung around for about 20-30 minutes for a table to open up for two. The menu had most of your classic breakfast items along with a large selection of eggs benedict, from which my mom ordered the lox benedict. She said it was wonderful besides the onions (I guess they overpowered the rest of it), and of course I ordered the french toast. It was pure cinnamon and sugar bliss lol. Great if you have a sweet tooth and probably could split it if you wanted to. Ask for whipped cream and squeeze the orange slice over them to add another layer of flavor. I love this place. I come here each time I stay in the area. I always get the cinnamon roll french toast. It's ridiculously good. The portion is very large (4 thick pieces). They don't offer a half portion so I end up taking 3 to go. I paired my single cinnamon roll French toast with some eggs, bacon and potatoes/homefries. My eggs were PERFECT - I like a runny egg and couldn't have cooked it better. The potatoes were full of flavor. And the bacon.... reminds me more of the "old school" thick bacon rather than the thin store bought bacon. It's great eating alongside the sweet French toast. As a side note: I opt to walk to the restaurant to reduce guilt over the portion sizes... that's a good problem to have. read more

Found our way to this spot via Yelp while staying at the Don Cesar. Plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. An adorable local spot adorned with frog decor from end to end. We were seated quickly and promptly given water and coffee. My husband ordered an omelet and it was extremely salty, the blueberry pancakes were on special and they were loaded with blueberries which was amazing. Sadly, I had a bad experience during my time Frog Pond. Expect a wait, especially on weekends (which is fine). On this day, the servers seemed to have too many tables to handle. They were also out of all potatoes, crab cream cheese, and turkey meat. Finally, after deciding on something that didn't contain any of those things, only to find out they don't serve lunch items on Sunday's. I mean how hard could it be to throw together a ham and swiss when you are already serving all these ingredients in other meals?? The food was good, but how can you mess up eggs and sausage. The replacement options for breakfast potatoes included in their meals were sliced tomatoes or grits; upcharge for fresh fruit, and no discount for choosing neither replacement. Doesn't sound like a good solution to me for the THEIR problem. I will return to give them another chance, since I've had good experiences here in the past. My wife's friend's friend and I had the half-pound ground round burger and I had to open my mouth up like a python to manage a bite. It was very good.
