I came here with a group of people for a football game and we were seated in a very large backroom which was very convenient for us. Food: The burger is very normal honestly, and there is nothing special about it. It was filling tho and had a full stomach afterwards, I will give you that. (I might try something else next time). Ambiance: The whole place felt like a maze lol. its super big by having some rooms which can definitely host a lot of people and even some private party depending on your size. The screen in our space was large with a pool table as well. However, there was an issue with speakers cutting off every now and then, so I will recommend checking the sounding system. Ran in here to watch a World Cup game after work and the vibe was great; speakers were on but not too loud which was nice. Waitress handed me the menu which had a variety of cocktails and I got the Mojito. Whatever I received would definitely not fall under what a Mojito is (not even what a bad Mojitos would be), so I asked if they could please change it for a Margarita instead (also on the menu). They did kindly do so, but it was also a terrible Margarita which any bar in NYC (regardless of the type of bar) can normally do relatively well or at least okay. They charged me $16 for the Mojito (instead of the $15 Margarita), and since I was just ready to leave I just left it at that. I understand that ordering these cocktails at an Irish sports bar is kind of a risk; but I also think if you can't make a bare minimum decent drink, then don't have it on the menu. I don't think that is a big ask from a bar in NYC, charging $16 for a drink. (before tip and taxes). If you just want a beer and to watch a game, then this place is probably great for you. read more

My husband and I have done a staycation in the city during NFL playoff season for the last few years and watching a game at carragher's is now one of our yearly traditions! The service here is always top notch and we had the save server from last year. Side note to all the bros- don't be a jerk and tip well. I don't care about sports or Irish stuff. I just got out of a late movie and was looking for a place open. The bouncer was funny and welcoming. He even told me of a place I could go that was open after they closed if I wasn't ready to go home after my meal. The bartender and the server still on duty (there was only one because it was like 11 PM and they closed at 2 AM) were also great. The server gave me the choice of sitting at a table or at the bar and also checked to make sure the kitchen was still open for me. I chose to sit at the bar in hopes of making their life easier. Please keep in mind that this late, the menu is more limited. I ordered the classic beef burger medium. This burger is basic--you can choose your cheese--cheddar, blue, mozzarella (I chose cheddar). Also comes with onions. There was mention of mushrooms and other additions on the menu, but that didn't come on my burger. Probably because of the late hour, and that's ok. Honestly, I was worried I would get the "Waiting" treatment (for elder millennials who have seen the movie)--cold, served with a side of crotch rot and pubes. But I got a super hot, juicy, dripping, fresh burger and some decent waffle fries! I was happily surprised with how good the burger was! The drinks aren't craft, and that's not expected here. I got a couple of the cocktails, but they were pretty meh--this is more of a beer and shot place, and I recognize that. The bartender didn't rush me and was really laid back. As someone who tries to not come into a place less than two hours before closing, I appreciate that. This Irish pub is great for sports fans (lots of final four basketball action on TV). Casual vibe. Their more expanded menu includes things like lamb lollipops, chicken fingers, fried pickles, French onion soup, chicken wraps, steak sammies, multiple types of burger, buffalo Mac n cheese, as well as a few steak/fish/chicken entrees. I wouldn't call this spot a destination, but a nice late night spot in a city that used to be the city that never sleeps, but is now usually in bed by 11 PM. read more

As a Liverpool and Carragher fan, I had always wanted to visit this place. We went for the Tottenham vs. Liverpool game on a Sunday, just four days before Christmas. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme, creating a fantastic atmosphere. We opted for beers to drink and ordered Eggs Benedict and Carragher's Breakfast for food. But once you find it, you'll be glad you did. I stopped by for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised to see a $20 lunch special that included a burger and a beer. After celebrating my wife's birthday at House of Spirits, we were looking for a sit down restaurant with good burgers (her request). After a few searches on Yelp, we decided on Carragher's. We're both glad we did as it had a very cozy feel on a rainy eve, something that quaint pubs give off; I say this, as this was a rather large pub & restaurant, but still had a very comfy feel to it. Service was prompt and attentive, and the food was delicious (APOLOGIES: we were so hungry we forgot to take pics of my wife's Carragher 23 burger, and my Reuben sandwich)! This restaurant was across our hotel where we were staying. When we spotted this Pub, we thought of checking it out for dinner after our long day sightseeing in NYC. When we walked down to the dining area, it was loud and the host told us that it was the room for karaoke. He led us to the dining room of the restaurant. Unfortunately the regular tables or booths were taken so we were provided the stool seats. Not a fun of it but it was okay. There was a big screen of TV to watch the sport especially. They have good selection of food and drinks. The lady bartender had us tasted two different cocktails and we ended with frozen Margarita. It was nice coming back to this pub that was the former Irish American Pub. The drinks are still amazing, new pool tables to play and their wings are still good. Carragher's charged me $400 on days I never stepped foot on the premises. It has been months and they have still not refunded me. They have ignored many emails and brushed off many phone calls regarding the unauthorized charges. I've already posted this on Google but it seems nobody reads that. Nobody reads the restaurant email either. HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Entirely IGNORING me after collecting $400 in UNAUTHORIZED CARD TRANSACTIONS. I've been going to carraghers for years, from when they used to be in midtown AND I will NEVER RETURN after this experience. It's unfortunate that I have to write this. Generally, Carra's is a great spot to grab some pints and watch the Reds. Unfortunately, their customer service has been horrendous, atrocious, or any other number of words. I went there a few months back for the Aston Villa match. A few days later I get a $200 charge on my card. A day after that, a second $200 charge. I called about a week after noticing the charges and they told me they were having some issues with payment processing and would get it refunded for me. They asked me to send screenshots of the charges. I said, no problem I understand, I will send you the info. I heard nothing for awhile and never received a refund. I called a few more times -- each time they told me to call back because the manager wasn't in that day. I called again and they asked me to put all the information in an email, so I did. No response. I followed up 3 times on that email. No response. read more

Met a friend for brunch prior to a Broadway show. Service was good. Food was...not a lick of flavor on anything cooked. Everything tasted steamed or boiled. I got a Caesar salad which I'd give a solid 3 stars if I could. It was presented well, had actual anchovies, romaine was crisp and I loved the little toasts slices that I had to crumble up for my croutons. It was described as having lardons but it had Irish bacon. Which isn't a bad thing except they don't bother to give a quick sear to the Irish bacon which would give it a touch of flavor. My friend got the chicken and waffles which was just as underwhelming as my Eggs Benedict. Anemic looking waffles, uninspired fried chicken. The Eggs Benedict was served with a side of home fries with red peppers. Not a lick of crisp on the tators. Again, no flavor burst anywhere. The issue is beyond simply adding salt but that would have been a start. The atmosphere seemed like a great sports bar for sports fans so maybe the bar food is better but I wouldn't bother to come back and find out. read more

We came to watch the World Cup and we're seated right away, the waitress was not pleasant and service was not the best but the amount of screens to watch the game was great. The baked Buffalo cauliflower was the best thing believe it or not, it was crispy enough and full of flavor. The calamari was crispy and a solid choice , the pretzel was surprisingly soft and not too dry , the sauces on the side were not even necessary and in fact not necessary! Overall if you are in the area and need somewhere to watch a game this is a good choice . Pretty cool pub near Times Square to chill and to watch sports on big TV screens. Obviously it could get pretty loud. Restaurant is large with seatings on both sides of the entrance plus second floor. We had 7:15pm reservation and were seated promptly at a high table in the back. Rajun Cajun Burger: lots of Irish bacon. Added $2 for curly fries which were awesome. I had to remind myself to get medium rare as medium beef wasn't as tender and juicy. The Albert: big portion and the house fries were good too. PS: got 1,000 Open table points. What a nice way to have a good meal while earning some bonus points. read more

The food was literally amazing, every dish the table received was BOMB! We had fried pickles (super crunchy and delicious with like a cornmeal breading), onion rings (the best I've ever had, super crunchy and flavorful), teriyaki chicken wings, the pot pie, quesadilla, the Carragher's burger, the Gaelic burger, and the steak and frites.
