If you haven't been to Funny Frenchie yet, then run don't walk! This place was such a fun and enjoyable experience. The food was packed with flavor, and let's talk about the Frenchie waffle... come on, it was so freakin' cute! I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but their coffee was light, smooth, and easy for me to enjoy. The customer service was amazing, and everyone made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The portions are huge, I definitely had to take home some doggie bags (pun intended ). Every part of our visit was enjoyable, and you can tell there's a lot of love put into both the food and the atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and support this small business. And if you have a Frenchie, bring them too!

Second time coming to The Funky Frenchie, took a friend for their first time and we had a wonderful lunch. Last time I ordered breakfast food, Bomb croissant sandwich (10/10) and my spouse ordered Chicken & Woofles (8/10). We ordered lunch food and everything was fantastic! 10/10 definitely recommend The Funky Frenchie! NYM bacon cheeseburger & Buffalo Chicken sandwich had cheese grilled onto the bread, sooooooo good!!!!!!!

Another happy find. Highly recommend this place something for everyone I believe. Josh our server was friendly and welcoming. Love the layout. We ordered the properly named breakfast sandwich Da bomb . Having the cherry tomato's with the sandwich game changer. We also got the Tiramisu French toast. To all the dog lovers, this is a dog friendly place . We can't wait to come back for the lunch options. The plates are very shareable. Price and quality of the food are remarkable definitely a winner .

Super cute spot featuring Frenchies art and decor everywhere! We came during brunch time and sat on the outdoor patio. The patio is on the casual and simple side, and not as cute as the ambiance inside. They were very accommodating as our group had babies and a dog. Overall the place is small and probably better suited for 2 people for comfort or 4 people max. The food was tasty and consisted of brunch and lunch food. I had to order a side of the Frenchie pancakes since they were so cute! Breakfast burrito was solid. The special lemonade was WAY too sweet and I couldn't continue drinking it. Ended up taking it to go so I could dilute it with ice. Yay for 2 drinks for the price, haha.

The Funky Frenchie is an excellent spot for your breakfast and lunch needs. The food portions are plentiful. The service is excellent. What sold us to come visit The Funky Frenchie is that it's dog friendly. Let me begin with the service. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. Brandon, our server, provided delicious recommendations. He made our first visit a great one. Next, all 4 plates were spot on. They were all delicious and large portions. We were all happy with our selections, including our Golden. The Funky Frenchie is a definite must-go spot. This is especially so if you have a furry friend. I can't wait to visit The Funky Frenchie again.

Pickup order complete for Sunday breakfast! Food was cooked quickly and package well for transit. We ordered the breakfast burrito, chicken and waffles and a peach lemonade. Things I loved: -Small family owned business. I will always support spots this! -limited menu items. I believe less is more especially because... - Food was delicious! The first bite into my burrito was amazing! I will definitely order that again. -Cute waffles! Love the frenchie -Loved the French fries that came with the chicken and waffles meal. Things to consider: -More seasoning on chicken tenders -Offer different sauce for chicken. The chipoltle mayo was very good but not the best combo for the meal. I'm thinking a homemade honey mustard. -Offer a small salsa for the burrito. Service was great! I'm looking forward to ordering again!

New place that we tried out over the weekend in Lemon Grove. The Funky Frenchie have painting murals and decor that gave it a pleasing first impression. We were greeted and seated right away by a nice gentleman, which we can only assume was the owner. Servings were more than enough and the chicken n' woofles had a good taste to it. The dipping sauce for the chicken is an added bonus. There's an indoor and outdoor seating so if you're bringing your little fur baby, this is the perfect spot. Only thing that stood out to us is the "No Public Restroom" sign. It wasn't a big deal for us because we did not have a need to use it but just keep that in mind. Plenty of parking and have not had any issues finding a spot in the businesses in the same area.

Tried The Funky Frenchie and it definitely lived up to the hype. Got the chicken and waffles with their signature Frenchie-style waffles (shaped like little dogs), and it was both fun and actually really good. The waffles were soft on the inside with a nice crisp on the outside, and the powdered sugar + syrup combo hit perfectly. The fried chicken was juicy, crispy, and seasoned really well. Also tried one of their savory dishes and it did not disappoint--everything tasted fresh and well put together. The vibe inside was clean and chill, and the presentation alone makes it worth coming. Great spot for brunch or if you're trying something a little different.

Good was good. Mom and pop shop. Not sure how long they have been here but seems new. I'd eat that Philly cheesesteak again lots of extras and all seasoned to perfection. My daughter loves her burger and she is picky. Fries were excellent. I do wish they had a homemade ranch for the fries. I hope they add AC or a fan because it was a bit warm inside and we were looking to cool down. I had their specialty lemonade with several fruit juices. It looked awesome but was a bit sweet and for sure needed to be colder.. please bring drinks out faster on a hot day. They have inside and outdoor patio searing. It is in a small strip mall so parking was super limited. Cute decor and the guy who took Our order was super friendly. But the place only has 2-3 employees so not very speedy. Place was clean. Restroom was tiny and in the employee area. But we were happy they had one or we would have left since we had just come from a soccer game. I am glad I walked to the restroom with my daughter.

I honestly don't remember what was ordered, but everything was soo good amd flavorful! Portions were really big too! I think the only thing was the drink wasn't cold enough for me. But everything else hit the mark! &they have chalk to draw on the outside patio too!

This is a nice family owned breakfast and lunch restaurant in Lemon Grove. It recently took over a long time deli in the area. I came in for breakfast and ordered their house breakfast burrito for $13 plus tax. The burrito came on a sun-dried tomato and red pepper flour tortilla, and came filled with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and cheddar Jack cheese. I liked that they toasted the tortilla well on the hot griddle after they wrapped the burrito. The eggs were well seasoned nicely, the bacon was tasty, and the hash browns were good. I would have liked a little more cheese in the burrito however. It was a very good breakfast burrito and I would order it again. They offer a good amount breakfast and lunch items, not to mention coffees and a handful of signature French Toasts. There's parking right out front and more in the back. The service was welcoming and friendly. This is a nice addition to the city of Lemon Grove.

My husband and I recently moved to San Diego. We are so delighted to find such an amazing spot so…read moreclose to our new place. We came in for lunch on Friday and had the flatbread and sandwich. Both were amazing! The server was wonderful. She really went above and beyond to make our lunch great. She even wrote down other nearby restaurants and shops we need to see in the area, and recommended we come back during brunch. We came back this morning and had the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Much harder to find a seat or parking on the weekend but worth it. The band was great but had a group of dancers that refused to give up tables while they appeared to be at capacity. Other than that... 10/10 place, food, music, and service.

We frequent Nate's at LEAST monthly for their impeccable vibe, delicious eats, and awesome staff…read more We've recommended Nate's to multiple out-of-town friends, and usually bring friends or family with us when we visit. The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 (and I'm usually a 5-star/1-star girlie) is that we haven't seen Cari, one of our favorite servers, in either of our last couple of visits. Over a year ago now, Cari stepped UP when I became faint and almost passed out on Nate's front deck. It was a hot day, I am BAD at drinking water but great at sweating; and as I stood up, I turned paper white and the world got fuzzy. Cari swooped in the moment she saw what was happening - making sure I was safely lying down, getting me hand sanitizer for my forehead and a wet cloth for the back of my neck (rapid cooling!), and orange juice for my fluid imbalance. I'm so SO glad Cari was there to take better care of me than I take of myself. I miss our nerdy conversations, and hope she'll be back soon!
