Paella is a must try, the portions are comfortable for two with some appetizers and very very tasty.
We made reservations for dinner tonight and I will say my previous review still stands. Delicious food, amazing staff, and great atmosphere. I will continue to venture this restaurant as long as they're in business.
Whenever I go to Bulla, the food is always excellent and absolutely divine no matter what I get. Sometimes I go for happy hour which, even with a limited menu, has a lot of tasty options! This time around we got the Huevos Bulla, which was relatively hearty with the salty ham and gooey egg, with the potato chips providing a lot of crunchy texture to the dish. We also got the Grilled Steak, which was a new dish for me to try. This is probably going to be one of my favorite dishes from now on. The steak was tender and the truffle foam was to die for (even after the meat was gone i was eating that sauce up, no leftovers). Another new try for me was the seasonal Lamb Cannelloni. The lamb was gamey and the wrapping was soft. The sauce it came with definitely helped enhance the flavor; without the sauce it was just okay. I order the Kalimotxo drink, which, with the cola and lemon, helped brighten up the wine-forward drink.
Had brunch here with some friends on a Saturday and had a great experience. We made reservations in advance which was nice because this place gets pretty packed. There's plenty of seating throughout without it feeling crowded or like you're sitting on top of the table next to you. Their brunch prix menu is awesome - highly, highly recommend going for brunch and trying this menu because not only are the food options on there fantastic, but it's a great value. We all ordered different items so we could share and try a little bit of everything, and there wasn't a single bad thing on the menu, the patatas bravas, potato tortilla, and croquetas were all really yummy starters and you can't go wrong with any of them. The bulla burger, bulla Benedict, and braised pork hash were also all really great - I love breakfast foods, so the Benedict was my favorite personally and the crispy chorizo bits were really good. The desserts were my least favorite probably - the churros were good, they're basic churros. The dessert empanadas I didn't care for too much, I think the truffle honey was too much for me and it was hard to taste the quince or cream cheese. Our service was also phenomenal - Bambi was very friendly and had a great attitude! Would def recommend Bulla for a good brunch date spot.
I've been wanting to get here for so long and it was beyond worth the wait. Absolutely adored my experience at Bulla Gastrobar -- from velvety dates to robust sangrias, top to bottom this was so good. It's a must try! They offer a prix fixe menu, but we opted for the Saturday brunch menu on the Luna Lounge rooftop, which is packed with incredible options -- tapas, paellas, large plates, sweet plates and charcuterie. The bottomless mimosas were so reasonably priced, this alone is enticing me back. $23 for bottomless mimosas & sangria! They were also incredibly balanced and delicious. The sangria (I preferred the white but both were delicious) was a bright sweetness, and the mimosa was sweet but punchy on the tastebuds! I loved it. Definitely get this. (Pro-tip get the passionfruit mimosa & thank me later!) Ham croquettes had a crispy outer shell with a savory, cheesy inside that completely melts in your mouth with the salt of the crunchy bits of meat. All of that is countered by the sweetness of the fig jam, it's such a great combination of textures and flavors. It was indulgent! The ceviche de jalapeno was a highlight of the day -- such robust and bold flavors. the shrimp and fish were so fresh with the perfect texture and. The lime mixture was divine, I couldn't stop eating it! Tangy, tart and sweet. the heat was light for me but i loved the kick from the jalapenos. The dates were also a homerun -- the way the sweet dates melted into the salty bacon and savory chorizo was fantastic. We also tried the calamari, and it was okay but nothing to write home about. Here's what I recommend: * Serrano Ham Croquettes * Ceviche de Jalapeno * Bacon-wrapped chorizo stuffed medjool dates * Chicken & Waffles w/ rosemary syrup
Enjoyed happy hour here on a Tuesday night. They offer happy hour Monday-Sunday 3pm-7pm, but only at the bar itself, not bar area. I arrived around 430-5pm and was able to find one seat at the bar. I ordered an avocado margarita mocktail. Very delicious! For food I ordered the Ham Croquettes, Truffle Fries, and Tuna Tartare. All three were very good and fresh! Would have loved for the truffle fries to have come with a truffle aioli. Would recommend for happy hour!
The location is actually pretty easy to get in and out for Hyde Park because it's right there by the parking garage. I would suggest a reservation as it is very busy. It is certainly a hang out for young career starters and a good networking place. It is also very nice to date night. Great bar area. They do have a rooftop bar but there was a private event so I could see it. The food was a little disappointing. A lot of fried stuff which is not what I experienced going to Spain. I had high hopes because the company has authentic Spain leadership but so much fried stuff is definitely not authentic. The octopus was very overcooked and the mint with the artichokes really threw off the flavor profile. The best item we had was the chef meat and cheese very authentic and pleasant dish. If you are going to claim authentic dishes try taking out the fried options. Mediterranean food is so healthy and delicious as is. I would not make a special trip back but if I was in the area I might consider trying again, hopefully the new chef makes some tweaks.

She had quirky jokes and provided menu and drink recommendations. We decided to do a few different tapas so we could taste more (recommend this if you can). We started with the calamari which was good; crispy and texture was just right, not too chewy. We moved on to the Tuna Tartare. This was delicious! It blended the sweet from the mango, the creamy from the avocado and a little heat from the sriracha aioli. We then tried the Montaditos, which the brisket was amazing! It was seasoned perfectly and shredded and just melted in your mouth. We finished with Pan con Tomate, which in my opinion we could have done without. It could have been served warmer and if you don't eat it all quickly, the bread begins to turn soggy due to the juice from the tomato on top. Overall, great experience, great food, and it's a nice atmosphere. Can be a little loud, but that is to be expected.
Came here for a night out with some friends, they got us in super fast even though we had a big group. The waiter checked on us frequently and got us served up until the last minute of them closing. Great vibes everyone had a blast, the food was really good different taste than usual but I liked the flavors they used. There are some small parking lots nearby, so getting here is easy. Overall great night happy I got to come here.
The food here is for brunch is really good and the Sangria is a must order! We did the bottomless mimosa so we were able to try all 3 on the menu. The avocado toast!! Do yourself a favor and get it! I'm not a huge fan of avocado toast and would order this every time!! The seafood paella is worth the wait too!! If you haven't been here for brunch I would recommend going. The service was really good as well. Our waitress was attentive and knew the menu well. The ambiance is chill and the upstairs area has a rooftop that's cool. My one suggestion is that maybe protein options for brunch that is not pork.
Bullas has the everything's! The tapas is so amazing from Manchego cheese to garlic shrimp that is the perfect amount of spice, oh and how about the salmon with baby spinach! Did I mention they have churros that are not on then diet but who cares, cheat day approved! Bullas has a really beautiful rooftop to checkout especially as the sun is setting. My favorite bartender there is Neal, he is very attentive but a great conversationalist and the manager Sam has been at Bullas for years, she knows her stuff!
Came to Bulla for brunch and overall had a good experience. The bottomless mimosas were a great add on for $23, and the brisket appetizer was amazing. The steak entrée was a little underwhelming. The quality was there, but the flavor was lacking. The blueberry ricotta pancakes were good, and the atmosphere was great. Clean, beautifully decorated, and a really nice vibe. Service was quick, and our server Cami was super helpful with the menu and checked on us often. I'd definitely give it a second chance and try different dishes, especially because the service was so good.
Met with some friends at location a few nights ago for a light dinner. They offer a nice array of Tapas and large plate items. Service was exceptional and ambiance is open and inviting.

Inauspicious from the outside, absolutely delicious food and drink. We've now had dinner here with friends a few times and for a special occasion as a family. The Pan Con Tomate is the absolute most delicious thing here. Especially when topped with their Jamon Serrano. You could get just this and one of their martinis, especially during Happy Hour, and be totally happy. Also lovely are: Their Spanish wines Their Paella Mixta Garlic Shrimp Ham croquettas Lentil soup Grilled Ocotpus Salmon with chickpeas and spinach The service is always great and the booths have the best ambiance. read more

I tried Bullas today with some friends and I have to say it was a good time, I really enjoyed their $17 two course lunch special. I had the Flatbread and the Pollo al Chilindron Platter with a Pineapple Mezcalita. Delicious! Our server was Anna and she was also very engaging and had a wonderful presence with us. The ambiance is on point. Great way to slow down after an extremely busy work day! Angelina is great with her customer service! Oh, and the happy hour drink specials are great!!! The menu isn't bad, just feel like it can have more options. Keep in mind, it's tapas.... But, there's a full bar! Ha! read more
Since our trip to Asturias, Spain in 2024, Mel and I have been searching for a go-to spot for authentic Spanish charcuterie and cuisine in the Tampa Bay area. With our discovery of Bulla Gastrobar in the Hyde Park area, I think our search may finally be over. We rolled into Bulla on a Sunday afternoon a few minutes before the end of brunch. The space is bright, spacious, and stylish, full of tasteful accents inspired by color palettes from the south of Spain. We chose to sit at the bar, which we often do, and we're glad we did because it made the experience almost as much as the food did. Our bartender/server, Nabil, was incredibly helpful from the minute we sat down. He made us a pitch-perfect wine recommendation just in time for Happy Hour (1/2 bottles of wine), suggested we try their Chorizo-stuffed dates (life-changing stuff), and answered our every question with enthusiasm and professionalism. Other highlights of the menu -- their tortilla Espanola (tortilla de patata), their croquettes stuffed with Serrano ham, and their marinated olives, all delicious. And if you've never had it, try their Paleta Iberica -- it's shoulder ham from acorn-fed pigs. Light, lean, melt on your tongue stuff that will ruin you for just about any other ham. We'd never tried it, and now we're always going to look for it. Finally, before we left we had to check out Luna Lounge, Bulla's rooftop bar. Gorgeous spot to enjoy premium cocktails along with Bulla's tapas menu. Next time we go, we're heading straight to Luna, and we're bringing friends! read more
Tried this place after a long break, loved their rooftop when it first opened, but this time we had lunch inside, great booth seating. Service was very fast and attentive. Great you pick two lunch deal, Tuesday is also 50% off paella. Loved my mocktail/ mango mule! And the sandwich was tasty too. Good amount of vegetarian options. And we added dessert fo just $5 since we ordered the you pick two menu. Overall would definitely recommend. read more
This place's got over 10k reviews and still holds a 4.9? Yeah, it's legit. Chain or not, they definitely got something special going on. Honestly, every single dish we tried slapped. If you're thinking of getting the paella, they'll tell you upfront it takes a while, so maybe order that first. All the other tapas come out super fast. They also have a brunch menu on weekends which looked pretty fun. Huevos Bulla Ham + fried egg + chips + potato foam + truffle oil. This one's wild in the best way. Creative and soooo good. Must try. Chorizo Stuffed Dates Bacon wrapped dates. Sweet and salty combo that always works. Serrano Ham Croquettes Fig jam didn't really save it. Steak Montaditos Steak on bread with sweet and tangy sauce. Kinda addictive. Paella We tried a few kinds and they were all good. Menu's got hella variety so you won't get bored, even after a few visits. I couldn't wait to come here. I actually came for happy hour, but the bar was so full. Luckily drinks are still available at the happy hour price restaurant wide. I'm very glad I was able to try a few things from the full menu because the happy hour menu is limited. I have been here before to visit the rooftop bar, which is also a great atmosphere. I had the pleasure of being served by the amazing staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful. read more

Love me some Bulla! Having lived in Spain for 2 years this place brings back memories of certain dishes. One that gives me instant nostalgia is the potato tortilla (also known as a Spanish omelet - it's served all over Spain and extremely popular because it's so simple but also so yummy and filling! As soon as you walk in the atmosphere exudes Spanish culture. Their drinks are also right on point. Great spot for happy hour! For lunch I very often order the pick two for $17 (+$2 for the Med bowl) for take out, as it's a heck of a deal and my office is located down the street! I always get the chicken Mediterranean bowl and switch up between the ham croquettes or patatas bravas (sorry not pictured). The order was ready on time, staff was helpful and quick to serve me the togo package right away. The bowl was very delicious and had tons of flavor, only thing is I will make sure to ask for the pita bread on the side. Even though it looked pretty composed in the containers the pita was covered in hummus and soggy - just a heads up. I still ate the heck out of it all because it was so yummy!! read more
Not bad at all I was expecting a little more but I was still satisfied. I had the peppers, the tuna tartar and the bulla burger. Everything was tasty but the tartar was a little bland I could have done without it I and the mango didn't seem have been fresh because it imparted no sweetness all. The burger I ordered medium it came out rare not even medium rare . But it was still tasty. The service was great no complaints there... the price was a little high for tapas in my opinion ion but hey it's Tampa. The best part might be the ambiance. This place had a solid vibe good for chill evenings or even dates. Overall solid 8.1 read more

Bulla is such a great spot! Let me start off with the sangria blanca, it's so good. We all had a few glasses, and my mom loved it so much that she was inspired to make her own version at home! The brunch menu had so many great options that it was genuinely hard to decide. We all ended up sharing bites of everything we ordered, and every dish was delicious. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong here, just go with whatever looks good to you. On top of all that, the service was a 10/10: super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Looking forward to going back! read more

Took a trip down memory lane and had a small group brunch at this establishment! Its been ages, but, the ambiance, food, and drinks are still top notch! I enjoyed my bottomless white sangrias, and lemon blueberry lemon pancakes. These are ushally my go tos for brunch! I also recommend the salmon if you enjoy seafood! Service was great, amd they were nice enough to accommodate my friend with a disability. Server checked in often and made sure we were ok! Cami is a Rockstar, and im glad she was our server! Definitely try this place if you haven't! read more
I went to Bulla Gastrobar with a group of four for dinner. It was very easy to make a reservation, and we were immediately seated upon arrival. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant! It felt so fun with music and the open connection to the patio. Our server was very attentive and gave some great menu recommendations. We ordered the chicken paella (definitely order it first because it'll take 25-35 minutes to prepare). We ate it last, but wow was it delicious. So hot, packed with chicken and artichoke, and I loved the crispiness of the rice on the bottom. The jalapeño ceviche was phenomenal. They're pretty decent about the amount of seafood they include. Chicken croquettes were decadent and fresh. I absolutely loved the potato tortilla. It was quite possibly my favorite dish we had. Steak montaditos were good, but I'd probably skip them next time. The garlic shrimp were sautéed in a delicious sauce, but the dish was more simple and I also would probably skip it next time. The Moscow mule was made to perfection! Highly recommend this spot during happy hour for some deals on drinks. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I had been wanting to try Bulla for the longest and I'm so thankful I did. It was easier to find than I expected, beautiful inside, and we were able to find a place at the bar immediately. We waited a bit before being helped by the bartender but once acknowledged they were consistent. We split many items to be able to try them all and were impressed with every item. I had a wonderful brunch experience at this restaurant. There were many options. I started with the tomato, ham, and cheese on the toasted bread. I also had the roasted pork over potatoes with a "poached" egg (it was soft boiled). The pork was DELICIOUS. The food was great, the service was great, the cost was reasonable and I don't even like tapas! But if you're in Tampa and want to try something fun and delicious, you should give Bulla Gastrobar a try. FOOD: We ordered a few different tapas like the ham croquette (best I've had), the potato tortilla (only okay, short on flavor), and chorizo stuffed dates (which was nice because you get a mini salad too). But the star was the paella. It's hard to find good paella and I think I'm spoiled from having it in Barcelona but this was very good. Rice had a nice al dente feel and the mix of other bites in it was good. The chicken was a little dry and unflavored compared to the beautiful rice but it was well worth it. SERVICE: Excellent service! Our server was always on top of things and did a great job. Portion size was just right. And presentation was beautiful. COST: very reasonable for all that you got. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some tasty paella! read more
Found this little place on Google and so happy we ended up here for brunch bc the food was soooooo gooood! We had such a good time as well. We had the 3 course meal and bottomless mimosas/sangrias! We all tired each other's food and everything was 10/10! The sangria I had was a sangria de cerveza and it was absolutely delicious, so refreshing and yummy. I'm visiting Tampa on business and tried to get into this place across the street when I realized Bulla was more up my alley. The place is tame yet still entertaining. The bar was busy and the Dining area is at the perfect level of lighting and atmosphere. We were seated quickly and our waitress Sara was a delight. We had a few cocktails and they were excellent. I believe the paella is meant for two people to share. I recently had the paella and splitting it between two adults was more than enough. There was no way I could have eaten it all by myself. Delicious.
