The guy working was a bit shy and did not introduce himself or check in with us at all, but I could see that this place would be a great option if you are a collector because they just have such a huge selection of things. They also have a race track for car racing, which I'm sure can get popular at certain times for certain clubs. I would recommend this place if you are searching for anything little toy car related.

I spoke to the owner about art, artists, vintage comics and starting his shop during the pandemic. Super nice, friendly, talented, it's exciting to find a new place like this, filled with great deals, icons and heroes. I walked out with a prize picture for my wall, and a skip in my step. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday, which was great because parking meters end at 4pm and we found parking out front easily. We were greeted by an employee behind the desk as we walked in. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back with our kids this holiday season.

Lakeshore is geared towards teachers, however it's open to the public, so anyone can visit. (Also anyone can join their club which gives rewards and a free tote on your first visit!) They have tons of fun stuff for various grades (Pre-K to elementary age), tons of art supplies (paint, glittery stuff, poster board, etc), tons of school supplies (birthday certificates, wall certificates, etc), and books and toys galore! Some of the stuff can be $$$ (for example a book that was $17 here was $7 on Amazon) but other stuff is much more reasonably priced. We got some school work books for $3.50 each!
