The Garage in Brockton, MA, is a great place to buy a used car. I recently (August 2026) bought a 2014 Subaru Outback from them. There were many other fine cars on their lot, but I was set on the Outback. Nick, the General Manager, explained theirs is a family business, and they only buy clean, clean-title vehicles, often from new car dealers taking them in on trade. From the very first phone call, I experienced friendly, honest communication, and a willingness to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the car. I am! In the time I spent in their small office, I overheard other salespeople speaking to other clients with courtesy, compassion, and no BS, unlike the pressure I've experienced elsewhere over the years. Did I mention it took me over three hours to get to The Garage in Brockton - by bus and commuter train? If I could give zero stars I would. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! They sold a car to my son and then roped him in for another couple of grand for the warranty. Well the warranty is suppose to cover everything it doesn't his engine had a part break internally (Not the fault of him according to the mechanic). I highly recommend you don't buy a car from here, I get that they sell used cars as is, but when you call them for help they give you the run around. I purchased a car here in 2020, 6 months later when the rainy season started I noticed it had a severe water leak. I called them to try to make an appointment for repairs but because of Covid it was hard to make an appointment. They kept giving me the runaround. I ask for the manager to call me back and instead a sales person called me back instead of a manager. After a few minutes of sitting in the car I asked to drive it which was promptly ignored and the financial questions started or should I say financial inquisition by the sales person. I answered vaguely - I was told I could not test drive the car unless there was "a deal" and it's "company policy" because it would add miles. Excuse me what??? I bought a $6,000 car here. The check engine light came on after the first two weeks of driving it. I was lied to by the Salesman who told me it had not been in an accident when it actually had. Two different mechanics I brought the car to quoted me $3,000 worth of repairs. I communicated these issues to The Garage, and was given the run around for weeks. I had to bring the car back to The Garage three times just so they could deny the issues that two other mechanics told me were clearly wrong. Horrible! I purchased a car from them using there loan/ finance services and they NEVER REPORTED my payments to any of the credit bureaus! I paid every payment on time, sometimes going without to make sure it was always paid to ensure my credit would not only grow but not lose points. I called the office and after being lied to over and over and different excuse's being given was transferred to the manager. The manager laughed and sweared at me and basically told me it was too bad and that it was not her problem. First she said it was reported about the wrong name, then a company, then she forget, and the last thing she said was it wasn't accepted. I PAID OFF MY car so it was too late for her to add my points. So after PAYING MORE THAN THE CAR WAS WORTH, PAYING HUGE INTEREST, paying on time and GETTING NO POINTS TO MY CREDIT, getting yelled at and laughed at... This was the best car buying experience I've ever had! Nick greeted me right away with his name and a handshake and had the best customer service I've seen out of anyone in a long time. He clearly learned this from his father, Rick, who was equally as great about introducing himself and making you feel like you belong there. They are an amazing family and there is no question why they have 3 lots; they make it their business to go above and beyond. Nick is the 3rd generation of this family working the business, and I'm am positive they will be around for a long time. DONT RECOMMEND, DONT BUY WITH THEM. We bought a car with this people to have a credit history, built my credit because they said that the do the credit report every month, so after almost 2 years nothing has change. We see that our balance showing on the credit report it's much more the we owned, so I call the transunion and they said that they are late 6 months on the report. I call THE GARAGE AUTO SALE, the rude lady told me that they are late because she is only one person and she has to work with multiples car dealer and all other are in vacation since June ( today is 11/03/17) that's is no my problem if they can't afford to pay more people. AT the end she said THE CREDIT IS THEYR LAST PRIORITY. so she ask me to call transunion and ask to do a dispute letter if I want resolve this fast. I have been taking control of my finances trying to go into the new year on a financially positive note. I went to go refinance my car loan at my bank today. Trying to get better terms. My credit score if fairly decent between 650 - 660. Everything was looking ok, my rate would drop from a 15.90% to 5.54% which is phenomenal. Except there is only one thing. The amount I owe on the car is more than the actual value of the car. Which in terms means I was declined better terms and am stuck in a shitty ass contract. I would advise anybody purchasing a car from this place PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. Also PLEASE READ EVERY LINE OF PAPERWORK given to you at this place before signing anything. DO NOT ACCEPT financing assistance from this place or you too will pay significantly more for your vehicle than it is worth. read more

While I love the vehicle that I purchased from The Garage (Bridgewater Location), I have to be honest when I say the experience that I had was far from great. I was promised (and had in writing) that a new battery would be installed, and when I arrived to pick up the car I was told "we didn't replace the battery, we just cleaned it up". I was also guaranteed that the car would pass inspection. It did NOT pass inspection the first time, due to a faulty rear tail light assembly. When I phoned The Garage to inform them, they said "Chris was supposed to check that, I guess he didn't". I was then told by the The Garage that they would only cover 50% of the cost. They did not mail the check on the date that they said that they did, stating "it must have slipped through the cracks". Not once did they apologize for any of the inconvenience that this caused me. Instead, they kept throwing other people under the bus, instead of taking ownership for their own mistakes. The entire experience made me feel like I wasn't a valued customer, but just someone they wanted to get rid of as quickly as they could. GREAT vehicle, but AWFUL service. read more

Said I was crazy when I claimed the brakes were having problems, then their GUARANTEED TO PASS INSPECTION car FAILED inspection and they gave me so much grief in reimbursing for the cost it took to fix the wipers, lights, brakes, belts, and parking brake. My husband and I went to the bridgewater location we've been looking for a car since my husband was in a horrible car accident and our car was totaled. As were with the sales lady (Lauren) she's telling us how she used this car to take her kids to the drive in movies. Not something you want to hear thinking this could possibly be your future vehicle. So after test driving it my husband was in love and we don't have great credit so we came up with a couple thousand as a down payment since we went to the one in Brockton and spoke to nick and he was certain he could help us. So Lauren took all my husbands information and like pretended to pull his credit and reach out to banks. My husband never saw any hard pulls on his credit. Then when my husband called to see if there was any luck she said she had reached out to one bank and it didn't work out! ONE BANK! Ridiculous! Maybe she just wants the car for herself so she can take her family to the drive in. I wish I could give zero stars. Extremely happy with our recent experiences at the Garage. They seemed to have a genuine concern for their customers satisfaction! Unfortunately, the vehicle our recent high school grad purchased in July, had unforeseen mechanical issues which got to the point we needed to return the car. We were given the opportunity to get a 100% refund which we decided to use as a down payment towards another car because of how accommodating the owners of the dealership were. Not only did we get a great deal, Rick worked very quickly to get the new car ready for delivery as we were on a very tight timeline with school starting within the week. Bought a 2002 Jeep Liberty with 134,000 miles on it in February at the Bridgewater locationand have had nothing but issues since I've had it. I am at my mechanic every other week. Called them in March and was told with the year and mileage repairs are expected, I guess it's common practice for them to sell vehicles that they admit are not mechanically good. I thought before dealerships sell a vehicle they service it and make sure issues are fixed before you sell it to a customer. My mechanic still can't pinpoint the problem I have with Jeep...but find other issues along the way.and I was told by Lauren I was getting a good deal...a good deal of problems. Now I know why it was an "internet special". And now I'm stuck with this money pit! read more

The prices online are not the real prices, if you need financing they make you take the warranty for an extra 2-3 thousand dollars! Also Ray seemed friendly enough until he didn't call back when he said he would and stopped returning my calls.
