Stayed at this bed and breakfast hotel several times and love the hospitality and location, which is a couple blocks from the heart of Duval Street which boasts tons of great restaurants and legendary bars. We wake up in the morning to a fresh stack of waffles with fruit and whip cream on top, with a bowl of cut fruit and OJ. We sit in the center common area at two small tables overlooking a small tropical pool. My favorite part of this hotel is the FREE unlimited beer and yogurt in a small fridge on the counter top next to the hot coffee. The staff here is friendly, but the best guy is Sammy who in my opinion runs the show here and makes sure your stay is entertaining and enjoyable. Prices are high like everywhere else in the Keys until April, so reccommend summer months for decent rates. read more

This was a good alternative for us instead of staying in the higher priced resorts. We spent little time at the Garden House and did not eat their continental breakfast (which is why we opted out of the resorts). My husband saw the breakfast offerings and said it looked great, but we opted for a more substantial meal. The room was more than adequate but totally without frills. We chose the king room and spent our time trying to avoid bruising our shins or stubbing our toes because the bed reached basically from one wall to the other. The room is air conditioned with a window unit - and since it was the middle of the hot season, a little challenged to keep the humidity under control. No room service means no sweeping the floor which meant we were regularly subjected to sand and/or leaves on the floor. (A broom in the closet would have been a nice touch.) There were two suitcase stands in the closet which we were able to make function, but both needed replaced. One staff member asked if we would like the room refreshed and we said yes (hoping they would sweep while we were gone). This only meant fresh towels. We were hopeful of support or discounts because we received an email from the "concierge" who we never saw at the House. In fact, we did not receive a reply to our email requesting further information (as instructed in the email). When we requested assistance at the front desk, only discounts to the local watersports company were available. When we arrived at 6 (as we had notified), we discovered that the office closes at 5 and does not reopen until ten a.m. (We had received self check-in codes so we assumed assistance would be limited. However, we did not find any "emergency" numbers provided) On the other hand, the setting is as advertised - a quiet garden away from the bustle of Duval Street. Parking is extra - but readily available and right next door (although if you are there on a Sunday morning, you must find an alternative from 9:30 to 11). The staff was friendly although most spoke limited English. My husband said the continental breakfast looked amazing. Coffee was out and available as advertised. As already stated, this was an adequate choice but had we known the particulars I've recounted, we may have sought a different setting. read more

Booked this hotel last minute because we needed to stay the night in Key West before our flight the next day. Booking was super easy and quick. The Staff was helpful and courteous! This is the cutest little B&B with beautiful plants and foliage, ambrosial smells from all the Jasmine, it's adorably decorated, has nice clean rooms, and tasty breakfasts! We took advantage of the clothing optional pool which was a very comfortable temperature and private! Super easy walk to Duval St. and Mallory Square! Can't wait to come back to Key West and book this charming B&B again! read more

We had the loveliest stay at this little bed and breakfast. Charming space with well maintained foliage. There's a small pool that really isn't meant for swimming- maybe a dip pool. Room #6 was spacious enough, comfortable mattress and a great shower (gorgeous tile flooring). Bfast in the am was perfect- fruit cups, yogurt parfaits, waffles, bagels, hard boiled eggs, etc. the pup KD who roams the property with her owner is a doll, stops by the bfast tables for little rubs. Very quiet at night, very clean. Overall, a great option centrally located. Would 100% stay again. read more

Check in was horrible. Room we had reserved 4 months prior was "unavailable". We were placed in an unacceptably small room, later moved to a new room, then told we would need to move back to the small room because the second room was reserved for someone who hadn't checked in yet. We have stayed here 4 times in the past but definitely this place has gone way downhill this past year. Rooms need a thorough cleaning ( including under the beds ) and the grounds were in need of upkeep. Our room air condition was blowing "dust balls" onto the bed. I will start out by saying the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The location was nice. We used the grab and go breakfast never did we order their cooked food. Now, for the bad news! The room we signed up for was a "cozy king".The flyer said there should be a desk, sitting area, electric kettle, and a closet, (which was a bar with only three hangers no closet or wardrobe ) the room had none of the above. The bathroom shower was very small if I put my hands on my hips, I could touch the side walls never could I get a "hot shower" it was lukewarm. Also there was no shampoo provided. The room was very small we had a hard time finding a place for two large suitcases. We felt the lights at night for the steps were not very well lit. There was no room service so if you needed more towels, you had to ask and make your own bed. There were extra bags in the one and "only" waste paper basket so with no room service I could take care of my trash!Check out time is 11 o'clock if you want to stay till 1 o'clock it was an extra $60. We have stayed in Key West bed-and-breakfast on other visits. We just thought we would try another new one. We will not return to the garden house!! read more

First time staying in Key West and chose this place because of reviews saying there were chickens. Yes there was and so much more! Our room was great! Good bed and shower. We had a little patio off to the side as well. Breakfast had everything you needed to start the day if you didn't want to hit one of the amazing restaurants. Sammy was the best!! After you give KD some head scratches you will be welcomed by a vibrant property host who will treat you like you have been friends forever. We had the best stay here! The entire property is apparently under new management, and we truly enjoyed getting to know Sami. He was helpful, funny, and kind. It's definitely a bed and breakfast- only like 10 rooms and a tiny pool (or gigantic hot tub), but the room was clean and bright, the air worked great, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning up every day. Sami also made yummy waffles and parfaits every morning, with other continental items to match. We walked almost everywhere from this super central location, and would 100% stay again. My room was very small. I was grateful for all the hooks in the wall so I could hang up my damp clothes and towels. The hallway and shared bath were not air conditioned. The only electric outlet in the room had an extension cord with 1 remaining plug for my cell phone. The room felt damp so I was not surprised to find a bug on the pillow when I woke up. I guess $150 a night is cheap for Key West. All in all, I felt like I got what I paid for. These were not luxury accommodations but the room was adequate. read more

This oasis, hidden within downtown Key West is a true gem. Sami and his pupper KD stood on the side of the street to hold a parking spot for us. Sami was an amazing host and had breakfast ready for us in bed every morning. The tiny pool that is in the heart of the garden house and forms a wonderful place for socializing. The rooms have a wonderful older feel, but i know Sami said they plan to renovate this, however its very charming. Sami had bikes for us so we could easily explore Key west and had tons of suggestions. I mention Sami alot because hes part of the reason I know we will come back. This is not a bed and breakfast. It is a bed and bagel. I feel like I am in a youth hostile. Everything is the bare minimum here. Even though the high price advertises cozy luxury. It is far from luxury or cozy anything. This B&B is in operation solely because of the overflow of visitors that are fed into this youth hostile. There is definitely not any returning customers. We have five rooms here and one of our couples need to go home early and they will not refund two nights out of 15.
